Next Day...
"Okay, class, today we have two new students in our class. One is one of the excellent basketball players, Taiga Kagami!" The teacher
Cheering, straight face for the Generation of Miracles.
"And the other is just a normal student. Um... Where is she?"
"I'm right next to you, sir," Verona says.
"Okay. Wait. WHAT!?"
So the same lack of presence, maybe much more than Tetsuya-kun. It's like of a pass-by, like someone you meet on the streets. Akashi thought. She can be put into use in the basketball team of ours when Tetsuya's Misdirection fades.
Yep, he definitely noticed that. Verona looks at Akashi's smirk. He is going to do something hilarious to me... Gods...
"Okay, class. Let's begin our first lesson."
----- Time skip to the end of the day-----
"Finally! We can go to the basketball court!" Kagami sighs in relief.
"But I am surprised you get all that information hitting at your head..." Aomine looks at Verona.
"Oh... I have a friend that likes to vomit information on to me, oh, wait, three of them..." Verona answers.
The crystal of Trivia and Frostina involves every god's powers in Greek, Roman, Asgardian and Ancient Egyptian. And it just happens to have Athena/Minerva in it...
Three of the friends... Well, Chiharu, Miku/Kazami and Zinaida/Kaneki, Chiharu, an Apollo's child, was blessed by Athena; Kazami/Miku was a child of Athena, but disowns herself ( sort of) and became Loki's child; Kaneki/Zinaida is Athena's child, so... Pride, I guess.
"What kinda friends do you have?" Kagami asks, "they sound like an awful lot of pain to you."
"Ah, it's okay. They do give a headache sometimes, but I can live with it. Please don't beat them up." Verona smiles.
"Okay."
Verona and Kagami follow the regulars to the street basketball court when they see a group playing.
"They're quite good," Akashi smirks.
"Midorimacchi, you've been quiet for a long time," Kise starts.
"You, too. It's unusual for you to do such things."
"Anyway, wanna play against them?" Aomine asks.
"Sure!" In unison, well, except Verona. She has her reasons.
She doesn't like pressure.
Backtrack to yesterday
"Akashi-san, this matter is serious, so please listen to us," Chiharu starts the conversation.
"I'm listening," Akashi says.
"Verona-san isn't good with pressure," Katsuki went straight to the point.
"Not good with pressure?"
"Not good with huge pressure, like, uh, for example, a lot of people surrounding me in a game to stop me from getting the ball, as do in basketball and football..." Verona adds.
"Oh. I see. And what if there is a lot around you?"
"She might crack," Chiharu says.
"'Crack'? What do you mean by that?"
"When her other self comes in and takes over."
"Okay. And why are you-"
"Because we did some research on you, such as asking your teammates in high school," Katsuki explains.
"Yeah, so we are asking you, an experienced one, to help her if she cracks," Chiharu adds.
"O-okay."
"The symptoms are: Intense headaches, falling unconscious for just 2 seconds, and the eyes turned bright scarlet. You will also notice the wicked smile on her face. That's when she's dangerous." Chiharu lists, "She will continue playing the game if there is one, and she would be outstanding, note better than before, but the intent of the actions will be different."
"Different how?"
"You don't get it?" Katsuki sighs, "It's not the intent of winning..."
"It's the intent of killing, Akashi-san," Verona finishes.
"..." Akashi gulps.
"Yeah... That's when it becomes risky," Katsuki says, "so we are counting on you not to let the others know the secret. What we are talking about today in this group, stays in this group."
"What if she-"
"If she can't hold it, then just the team should know, at least the Miracles and Kagami should. No words spread afterwards." Chiharu says, "She has been training with her sisters, who have almost the same problem, and was the best out of them. So, yeah... Please help her."
"I don't want to hurt anyone, so please help me if I snap..." Verona says.
"Fine. I'll help. But who are you two anyway?"
"Katsuki Shizuko."
"Chiharu Atsuko."
"Shizuko... You're the youngest daughter of the Shizuko family?"
"Yeah."
"And Chiharu Atsuko... Aren't you the assistant of the famous detective Kudo Shinichi?"
"Well, yeah. Kudo-niisan knows, but his lips are sealed. You should, too. Tell the others to do so."
"Oh... Alright."
"Thank you very much, Akashi-san," Verona bows.
"You're welcome."
Coming back to the present
"Wait... There's another group coming in," Midorima says.
"Yeah. Let's see who wins," Aomine smirks wildly.
Verona can sense the ugliness in their play. After about 2 minutes, the mean play starts(you want a reference? See the movie the Last Game, the Jabberwocks). That's when Kuroko's face starts changing. It's scary. Really scary.
S**t was the first thing that came into Verona's mind, You have just pissed off Kuroko-san. That's not good.
Okay, I am not sure what happened, Kuroko's Basketball is a universe that denies totally with the laws of nature, for example, Kuroko's disappearance, I believe, is not Misdirection and the lack of presence, but actual magic. Yes, in about 3 minutes later, Kuroko, somehow, sneaks into the court, okay with that? No! Why? Because if they start a gang fight, he's going to be half dead in five seconds!
That's how strong Kuroko loves basketball.
"Eh!? Kuroko?! How-When-?" Aomine and Kise freeze as they see the light blue haired boy in front of the 'captain' of this gang.
"Tetsuya's actions still surprise me," Akashi sighs, and he leads the others into the court. Verona follows in silence.
"Eh~," The leader of this team says, "More people to crush? Great!"
"Ts," Aomine snars with disgust.
Akashi walks up to them calmly, "We would like to challenge you to a basketball game. The first team who scores 5 times wins."
"Sure~."
"If you lose, you need to say sorry to the team you've just played."
"If you lose?"
"If we lose... What do you want to do with us, your choice."
"Then I get to have that lady over there~" the gang leader points at Verona.
"Fine. Then that's settled." Akashi says.
"Let's begin."
-----
So what's up, guys?
I am here to tell you that Verona Christine is going to turn into Scarlet Christina in the next chapter.
That means death.
So, gang leader, you still don't what you have started.
You still don't know you have f**ked up?
*sigh* Well, good luck.
