Prelodge - Verona Christine

"Alex, where are you?" Taiga Kagami runs back to where he last saw the woman. He just went to buy some drinks for them and then she disappeared.

Verona Christine just runs by Kagami. Seeing his face full of concern, she turns back and asks in English, "Sir, are you okay?"

"Y-yeah. Just looking for my tutor. You understand Japanese?" Kagami looks surprised.

"Well, I don't speak it, but I understand it. Talk in Japanese is fine with me. I'll just reply in English... If you can understand it..." Verona sighs.

"Well," Kagami says in Japanese while walking with Verona, "I am looking for a blond woman with pink glasses and-"

"Found it. The scene is not pleasant, though, I'm afraid."

"What scene-" Kagami was just about to ask a question when he sees a gang of men surrounding Alex. What anger is he showing on his face, in those bright red eyes.

"T-Taiga! Help!" Alexandra Garcia shouts helplessly.

"Alex!"

"Is that your tutor?" Verona asks, "Then I'll ask you to stay out of this. I'll help. I am as angry as you are."

"Wai-" Kagami catches the sight of Verona's eyes. The colour scarlet, full of fire fierce as knives stabbing through.

Verona walks casually, smiling.

"Yo, what's up, kiddos! Look, this woman here looks amazing, but she doesn't want to do dirty things. I'll bring you pleasure, trust me." She says it casually, smoothly, with a straight face.

"Why, there's a young girl standing up for ya!" One of the men says, "Then, if you say so, let's have some-" As he turns around, Verona's gone.

"I wonder about that, idiots!" Verona suddenly appears behind the person who's talking, knocks him out quickly. Then she moves on to the next, then the next one, and so on, all with swift movements, like a dance of some sort. Swaying the arms and pointing the tips of the fingers at deadly areas, she forces the enemies back and then knocks them out in an instant.

"Wha-" Is all Alex can manage, and all of the gang are unconscious.

"Miss Alex, are you alright?" Verona asks, reaching out a hand to the woman.

"Y-yeah..." Alex answers and grabs the hand of Verona then stands up and asks, in English, "How did you do that?"

"I'll tell you later. First off, you can speak Japanese to me; I understand, but I'll reply in English. Second of all, My name is Verona Christine, Christina is fine with me."

"Thank you for the save, Christina," Kagami says.

"It's fine. Now, Shall you lot get going? It's not safe to leave a woman with exposed clothing around at night, right? Even though both of you are basketball players, you're no good when it comes to close combat." A mischievous smile creeps up on her serious, straight face.

Kagami and Alex blush, then Alex realises something.

"How do you know we are basketball players?"

"Oh, you guys are both professional players, well, Miss Alex, you once were, right? And Kagami-san, you are one, am I right?"

"How do you know?" Kagami asks.

"I had a friend, no, several friends in Japan with impressive deduction skills. I guess I learn from them?"

"Okay..."

"By the way, are you going back to Japan, Kagami-san, right? and Alex is going with you, right?"

"R-right..."

"I'm coming with you guys, then, that means. I am visiting my friends."

"Okay..."

"So, bye, Miss Alex and Kagami-san!"

"B-bye..."

As they wave goodbye, Verona returns to her normal self, silent, closed, straight face with no emotion. Eyes of dull, red, lifeless.

She has no heart. The smile is only acting. The monster inside is uncontrollable...

Unless...

Unless someone can help her do it.

Help her control the beast inside her.

Until then, she would have to endure it, until it tore her apart with intense pain.

Endure it...
