Loosing Something Precious

Brendon's POV:

It's not my job to remember everyone's names in the pack. But, I took it upon myself to at least learn important faces I would need to command on cue. Eli, Jordan, Mateo, Atlas, Issac, Eloise, Issabella, and Maeve. The eight of them had this vampire pinned down. These were my top strongest warriors for the pack. The ones I trained with- and a few I even learned from. Their combat skills in and out of shift was incredible. But, Pinning down this vermin was even tough for them. They held it and stuck his hand out into the sunlight. His skin burned as it touched the last beam of light.

He didn't scream but he looked quite uncomfortable.

He's burning alive, how can he show no sense of pain?

But he looked half scared for some reason.

"Answer me," I growled towards the vampire. I already transformed back into my human form so he would understand me. I was slightly out of breath. I had fought this vampire all by myself before they could step in and aid me. "Did you have any involvment in aiding Lamia?" I asked. His next answer might be his last.

"Not if I could help it," he told me.

"Meaning?" I growled out.

"I've been married to-"

"You're her husband?!" I growled out. RED FLAG! "Kill him," I ordered. They looked at me in alarm. I growled. Are they questioning my authority!? Atlas grabbed the vampire's neck and went to snap it.

"WAIT!" The vampire yelled. "Let me explain myself!"

'Kill him already,' Steele growled. He wasn't having this hesitation.

"F-fine, you stubborn wolf! I'll be back! Make sure to tell Vivienne," he said. The vampire disappeared then and my pack crumbled to the floor.

"Comb the pack house! COMB THE WOODS!" I yelled in alarm. I have to make sure its gone.

"Alpha," I heard a voice crack by me. I looked behind me to see one of the lab coat nurses. She was avoiding eye contact with me. "Nurse Nena requests you come right away."

"R-right," I cracked out. I can't believe she's back! That vampire must've been crazy to hand her back over. Now the pack will be stronger. I took the fastest rout to the infirmary. Nena stood outside of the door. I could smell Dr. Felisus was already inside checking on my little luna. I looked at her as I looked into the window myself.

When I first saw Vivienne in the vampire's arms I thought she was bleeding because of the vampire's fangs... but when I looked inside, I could tell what the blood was really from. Vivienne was already sedated as they were running tests and trying to stop her from loosing so much blood.

"She's lost the baby," Nena mumbled to me softly. She looked in my direction. "We didn't tell her before putting her under. But, we knew the moment we saw her."

Steele howled suddenly. I could feel him erupt in sad energy as he heard the news. I glanced in at Vivienne one more time. Inside, I could see a small little wolf spirit resting in a ball beside Vivienne's unconscious body. That must be her wolf. I tapped the glass and watched as she looked at me. What was her name again?

'Arwen!' Steele howled. Wolves didn't have boundaries. The two rushed together and I watched as they curled up together. My wolf starting to comfort hers. I felt dizzy all of a sudden. I could hear the moon goddess's howl call me. A warning to come see her. She's been calling for me for the past few nights, but I've been too busy.

"Alpha," Nena said, sounding like she had been calling my name. "Tonight we will mourn the pack's lost," she told me.

Another loss.

My second chance at happiness.

My second born lost.

"Vivienne will be okay," I whispered. "She will get better and we will try again," I told Nena as I looked at her.

"Of course, there are always second chances," she told me before reaching out and patted me on the back. "Listen Alpha, I know this isn't my place... but with the Luna- my sister returning it is a good sign. It'll make the pack stronger." She bit her bottom lip before taking her hand away. "I'll give you a call when she wakes?" She asked.

"Don't leave her side," I commanded. That command was more towards Steele then Nena. But she nooded like she thought it was really meant for her.

I lost Blair once... never again. There's been too many missing cases for me to handle. She's going to freak if I tell her Mal is missing. She's got three borthers missing now and one dead! I'm doing a shitty job as an alpha and mate.

I walked down the hall almost too busy lost in thought. It might be time to go see the moon goddess... I've been behind on sleep anyways. I'll cross over and pay her a visit. I haven't been in so long. She's probably going to shake in anger because I've been ignoring her.

I blushed as I remembered I was butt ass naked. WHERE'S AN OMEGA WHEN I'M NAKED!?

"HEY! Can I get some new clothes?" I asked as I heard snickering laughter. "You guys just gonna leave your alpha hanging?" I chuckled out darkly. The omegas are always so well behaved about keeping the pack robbed after coming in from a shift.

"Sorry Alpha!" I heard a voice shout from behind me. "I had to make a special trip for this one," he said as he ran up with a fresh smelling one. He sounded out of breath. "Maeve took the one meant for you," he mumbled.

"Tell Maeve she owes me," I growled in a warning tone.

"She knows," he squeaked. He avoided my eyes and bowed his head respectfully.

I put on the robe he gave me before trotting towards my office. "AND, Someone get me my beta!" I shouted at the buzzing hall of omegas and pack members. I slammed the door behind me. I felt head rise to my cheeks. How could they look at their naked alpha? Do they have any shame? I guess I am good looking...

I decided to put off the trip to the moon goddess until bedtime. I wanted to get a conversation in with Niall before Blair wakes up. Steele left me to protect Arwen for as long as possible. So I had two pair of eyes watching my Luna. He'd report on anything he sees.

I pushed my chin into the palm of my hand and rested my elbow on the desk as I sat and waited for the door to open. I didn't have any paperwork needing immediate attention. I also knew if anyone makes a move on my luna, it would be when I'm out of the picture. It's the only way to make sure, Donovan was the true culprit behind Mal's disappearence. I'll wait it out, like the very good hunter I am.

My phone on the desk rang.

It pulled me from a deep thought and made me look at the clock to check in on the time. It had been three hours. I looked out at the night sky filtering through the blinds of my windows. I grabbed my phone and picked it up.

"Alpha Ramirez," I announced as I waited on the person to confirm they wanted to speak to me.

"Alpha," A lady's voice clicked on the other end. I never heard it before. "I heard your luna survived," she tsked out in annoyance.

Why is it I suspect this is Lamia?

"Who are you?" I growled instantly.

"You know that already," she laughed out coldly. "I sent you a letter. Give up..."

"You let my Luna go," I growled. "That was a party foul on your end. It'll only give me enough strength to come an tear you apart," I hissed through my teeth. Nothing will keep me cautious. I'll come and kill her now. Even if she sacrifices the other three brothers.

She laughed. Like this was a winning answer for her. I was just some game. She heaved in happiness as she tried to calm down.

"Come on then," she cooed.

She cleared her throat.

"I want you to know that if you want to see any of your pack mates alive again, you will surender your pack to my power. Or, I will take you by force. I will ravage your town and when I get to your pitiful pack house, I am going to cut your dick off and mold it into my next toy. So I will have a bit of you to remember as I sit and think about my eternal accomplishments."

I  growled as I wrinkled up my nose. This sick bitch.

"Since you haven't figured it out the first time," she clicked he togue. "I'll tell you that I'm the one behind the wreck that day."

The phone clicked as she hung up the line. I starred the phone down as flashes of Aaliyah flashed through my mind. I felt like shedding out of the robe I just put on. I could see myself heading straight to that bitch and eating her. I shivered as I thought about the wreck she talked about.

They told me it was an accident.

It looked like one.

SHE killed Aaliyah and Luke?

Both my unborn children are because of her!

I will destroy her and piss on her corpse when I'm done.

I stood up and walked angrily towards the door. I knocked it off its hinges and growled.

"WHERE IS NIALL!?"

My voice sounded like lava. I was fuming. How dare he make me wait so long!

'NIALL!' I boomed through their minds. I could see some omegas fall down around me in pain as I shouted so hard in the mind link.

'He's out hunting on the north borders,' Calix's voice was heard through the hummer of minds. They were all thinking of Niall now.

'NIALL.' I called again. There's no way he didn't hear me. What is that man doing? 'Someone go look for him. Calix, for your sake I hope your son answers me soon. He's disrespecting his alpha.'

'Yes, Alpha,' I heard a union of sounds.

'Did anyone find that vampire?' I asked as I remembered they should also be combing the surroundings for him. What is going on with this pack? It's like they put my orders at the bottom of their list today.

'No, we're still looking,' Eli's voice told me.

'She's awake, Alpha," I heard Nena tell me.

'Niall's scent leads out of the border,' I heard a weak voice try to yell over the rest of conversations trying to be had with me.

'Track it down,' I ordered as my feet carried me to the room of the one I love.
