Lazy Days

I wake up and head down stairs to eat. While I'm eating and talking with my mom she asks, "what do you have planned today."

"I don't know," I reply, "I guess I'll walk around the city and have fun for my day off."

Dad looks at me for a second before saying, "Just make sure to be careful and be home before dark."

"Ok." I say as I finish my breakfast and head out.

Thinking about it this is my first time walking around the city. I've never taken in the sights and enjoyed being in a new world, all I've been doing is training since I wanted to keep up with the protagonist's.

I walk through the Miyagi Prefecture and visit some shops. Mom and Dad gave me some walking around money so I buy a few snacks. While I'm walking I spot something I didn't think I would find.

Oikawa and Iwaizumi are ahead of me by an arcade and looking dead at me. Like a deer in headlights, I froze and had a weird expression. I didn't expect to see a guy I just told to remember me the very next day. Oikawa see's my expression and holds his laughter while walking up with Iwaizumi.

"Toru Oikawa. Remember my name." He said with a deadpan expression. Iwaizumi is snickering behind him apparently he was told what I said to Oikawa.

"..." I don't know how to respond but I feel my anger rising as a vein pops up on my head.

Oikawa and Iwaizumi explode in laughter and I just sigh as I watch them.

"So what's up, Kai-Chan." Oikawa said.

"Just taking my lazy day today and was walking around. I haven't been to the city much so I was curious." I replied trying to ignore his annoying way of calling people.

"If you want to you can join us, we were just going to play at the arcade over there." Iwaizumi said. I've always like Iwaizumi's character. He's a straightforward guy who can also joke around.

Oikawa looked betrayed and gasped. But before he could say anything I said, "Sure I don't mind hanging out."

Oikawa was speechless at my shamelessness and said, "Fine, we can invite Mr. Number 2 setter here to hang out."

A tick mark appeared on my forehead, "Who you calling number 2."

"Who lost." He replied looking smug.

"Dammit you want to go asshole."

As we fought, we slowly made are way to the arcade. It was a fun experience hanging out with other people besides Nishinoya. I asked earlier if he wanted to come to the city but he was meeting up with our senpai to practice. While we were playing I challenged Oikawa to some games and we tied up at the end of the day. We quickly became friends and exchanged numbers and also talked about the upcoming tournament.

"So how do you like your chances." Iwaizumi asked.

"I think we have a very good chance to win, but we are a little rough around the edges right now. We will fix it with are upcoming training, you better watch out we're gunning for you guys." I told him.

Oikawa snorted and said. "Like you guys could beat us. But you better not lose before meeting us again Kai-chan."

"Hmph, don't worry, I still have to knock that smug look of your face Shittykawa." I said with disdain.

I head back home and go to sleep ready for my training. The next day I joined up with Nishinoya and practiced with our senpai's. Eichi and me were working out the kinks in our serve. I've been doing my flexibility stretching everyday so my power serves have been improving nonstop.

The next day we met up with the coach after school and did his double training. I barely walked home with unstable legs. We continued on for three weeks and we've improved a lot. Our teamwork had reached our pinnacle and our individual skills are improving at a terrifying rate. I had to admit the coach knows what he's doing. He also announced that the training camp was being held tomorrow and what we needed to bring while also giving us permission slips to get our parents to sign.

I head home and keep thinking about the training camp that's being held tomorrow. 'We're gonna have it at Kitagawa since their facilities are top notch so I need to make sure to pack all my things tonight. But I can't believe they got high schoolers from karasuno to train with us. Is this some kind of plot armor.' I think to myself.

"Well at least it'll be interesting." I muttered as I get home, ready for what's to come tomorrow.
