Chapter 3

"So... my lady, welcome to your first class." Baroness Rhea said as she motioned for me to sit down. "Today, we won't be starting with a specific subject but rather with some basic knowledge."

"I see, teacher. Can I take notes?" I asked picking up the notepad and pen from the table. 

"Of course. Let's start with our kingdom first." She said smiling at me, as I got ready to take down notes.

"Our glorious kingdom of Reagnia." Wait. Reagnia? Wasn't this a kingdom in one of the romance novels I've read? "Our kingdom has a very long history. It has been blessed by the elemental spirit gods. The elements are -"

"Fire, water, ice, wind, earth and plants." I found myself continuing her in a daze. If this is the same Reagnia. Have I been isekai'd? But I wasn't hit by a freaking truck? Wasn't that how other people got isekai'd?

"That's right. How do you know that, lady?" Baroness Rhea asked bringing me back to reality from the chain of my thoughts. 

"Huh?"

"Are you alright, Lady Genevieve?" Teacher asked as she looked at me concerned. 

"Yes, of course. Let's continue." I said as we proceeded to learn more about the kingdom of Reagnia. About five hours later, my first class ended as teacher handed me a book. 

"What is this?" I asked, taking the book from her and flipping through its pages.

"Your homework, my lady. Please read this and prepare a summary of all that you have learnt from this book. I'll be meeting you the day after tomorrow. Therefore,  I think you have plenty of time to finish it." She smiled at me.

Homework...Ahhhhhh….

"I see, teacher.  I'll try my best not to be a disappointment."

"I'm glad to hear that. Then, I shall take my leave. I'll send Miss. Crystal here on my way out." She said exiting the hall.

"Thank you teacher. " I said as I slumped back into the chair. Wow! I got loads of homework on my first day. Great. Fantastic. Awe…..

"My lady?" I turned my head around as I saw Crystal peeking into the hall.

"Crystal!" I exclaimed and ran towards her with whatever energy was left in me and hugged her tightly. 

"My lady, how was your first day?"

"Tiring."

"Oh my! Then how about we go out. We need to fetch some groceries from the market. And you can also get some fresh air."

"That's a good idea. Let me take my hat, Crystal. You can wait outside." I said as I ran towards the stairs. 

"Careful, my lady!"

"Oh! And Crystal I want to walk so let's not take the carriage today."

"As the lady pleases." Hearing this, I hurried to my room and opened the cupboard, pulling out a brand new blue hat. Tying it properly above my head, I decided to run to my destination. But on my way I got a couple of warnings from the butler, the head maid and the gardener on how to be a sophisticated lady and not run around in the castle. But it was my first outing with Crystal. How could I not be excited?

"My lady… I think we should have taken the carriage." Crystal said, heaving. But most importantly,  the physique of this body is just right. I have been running up and down all day, but I never once felt tired. 

"Just a bit more, Crystal. We are almost there." After a lot of nagging, Crystal and I finally reached the buzzing marketplace. 

We shopped and shopped until our legs finally gave out. I sat on a bench as Crystal handed me a bottle of water. "Is there anything else my lady wants to do?"

"You!"

An old woman suddenly appeared in front of me out of nowhere as she held my hands, gazing at my palm. I was shocked yet somehow amused and curious at what she was trying to do.

And to answer my curiosity, all of a sudden she started laughing as she clapped and danced in front of me. "Fate has once again decided to draw it's card. It's time! It's time you meet him and return the history to how it was! Today! Today! It will all happen today!"

Just as I was trying to understand her words, out of nowhere Sir Grey appeared and drew out his sword. "My lady! Are you alright?"

"Ah! I'm fine."

"Drag her away!" Sir Grey shouted as two knights dragged her away but she kept shouting, "Today! The blood moon will rise again after forty thousand years! The lost souls will meet again!" Slowly but steadily, her voice faded as the distance between us increased. 

What did the words spoken by her mean?

"My lady?"

"Yes Crystal."

"It seems like it's about to rain. Why don't we rest under that closed shop's shelter since we didn't bring the carriage." Crystal said, looking anxiously at the sky.

"I'll arrange a carriage please rest there until then." Sir Grey said as he quickly kneeled, kissed my hand and left.

"My lady?"

"Let's go, Crystal." I said as the rain suddenly started pouring down. We ran to the shelter but we were half wet by the time we reached there. "I'm sorry, my lady. It's all my fault if only I had been more careful this wouldn't have happened."

"Crystal,  it's not your fault. It's actually no one's fault and moreover it was my decision to accompany you. So how can it be-" But before I could finish my words, I heard a soft whimper from behind me.

I turned around as I saw a half-grown white dog was struggling to make its way to the shelter. I walked towards it, on looking closely I noticed it seemed more like a wolf but it also looked like a husky.

Okay. Just what the heck am I thinking? It's obviously a dog. What's more important is that it was hurt and was bleeding. Poor thing. 

"My lady! Let's go!" I heard Sir Grey's voice as a carriage pulled in front of us. I decided to walk away and leave the dog on it's own but as I took a step away, something tugged in my heart. Without thinking,  I looked at Sir Grey and said, "Bring that dog inside the carriage, Sir Grey!"

"But my lady!" Crystal said as she tried to butt in. "Not now, Crystal. It's injured. We'll have the rest of the conversation upon reaching the castle." 

Sir Grey immediately put the beast inside the carriage. Although it resisted, it's attempts were all futile as he was injured. Finally, giving up he closed those beautiful purple eyes as he went into a slumber. 

I also got in the carriage along with Crystal as we made our way back to the castle. But along the way there was only one thing that lived in my mind. 

Those intense yet beautiful purple eyes.
