Elemental Shield

Lin Fan took Glenn Kong into the backyard of the Fan Sect and dug up something in the ground.

Glenn Kong thought Lin Fan was going to bring him to one of the human towns to pick up one of the wives of a soldier who'd died or left her for the war. All he did was take him to a backyard and activated a force field around them from a small generator.

"I have a present that Han Zhou left me." Lin Fan took out the Ephemeral Radiance Temple from a hole that he'd dug in the ground. "I figured we could go in here and get a drink. It might also be a safe place for you to work."

"I'd rather go to a city. Is this some type of spatial treasure?"

"Yup, the type that probably took hundreds of years to make," Lin Fan had already tried to design a blueprint similar to Ephemeral Radiance Temple and failed even with eighth grade metals. "Why don't we go check it out? Maybe you can get some insights?"

"Wait, does it have a connection to the abyss?" Glenn Kong's face curled up with shock as he looked at the treasure. "There is only a few of these in Sacred Light City. Are you really going to let me inside? After I just told you that I planned to abandon you?"

"At least you have a good reason. Not like my father," Lin Fan activated the treasure as it purred and prepared to suck both of them inside.

Lin Fan had been very surprised to see that the Ephemeral Radiance Temple was in the spatial ring that Han Zhou gave him. He found it a few nights ago, but had been setting up an area that would be hard for even high level demi-gods to sense. The shield he created blocked elementalization by circling a high concentration of lightning, fire, water as well as somewhat distorting space. Such a device was something he needed to ensure that no one could sense the temple.

The Ephemeral Radiance Temple was way above any treasure on the Heavenly Chest Ranking. In fact, it was so close to the value of a sentient grade treasure, that if he put it on the market in a place like Sacred Light City he might even be able to get ten sentient treasures for it.

The only draw back was that with such a treasure, such a powerful treasure, it couldn't be disclosed to anyone or he might get hunted for it. That was the entire reason why he suspected Han Zhou gave it to him. He probably didn't want to get hunted for the treasure.

The people in the Sacred Ring of Assassins were a nefarious group, and Han Zhou would be one of many that had studied dozens of obscure laws. If Lin Fan wanted to eventually overtake them, he needed someone like Glenn Kong around where he could be protected and hard to find.

Lin Fan had already figured Pax Ran would try and take out all his strongest supporters first in order to weaken his chances of losing the war.

It was now or never for him to increase his strength.

The odds were stacked against him.

He needed to at least protect his mechanic for a few more days and see if he could build a few more machines. Glenn Kong was already at the demi-god level, so he should be able to stay much longer than six hours in the temple.

The void would also help him get insights, and the small generator would be obscure enough that even the assassins that came to kill him wouldn't know he was there.

Lin Fan had even made a few blueprints to share with Glenn Kong that might even be able to defend against demi-gods. The only problem was that if Glenn Kong was inside the temple, it meant that he himself wouldn't be able to use it.

The fluctuations caused from activating the temple would alert someone like Pax Ran who had mastered all the laws. Since he wasn't here, now was the only time for Lin Fan to be able to safely hide Glenn Kong.

He estimated that Glenn Kong could be in there for six months, and not have to leave.

"Well, I hope there are some girls in there," Glenn Kong sighed and touched the temple. "I don't suppose you have a plan of how I can get my new weapons out to you without alerting anyone?"

"I'll send in someone weak to pick up the weapons," Lin Fan nodded his head and pointed to Mimi Fan as she danced with her hammers in the grass. She was still a child after all, and did things like that. "Pax Ran shouldn't notice anything weird. As for girls, when I capture a demi-god beauty, I promise to throw her in there with you."

"My man... You sure know how to please a guy," Glenn Kong nodded his head, "Alright, I'll start making weapons for you in secret. However, they'll have to be much weaker than the cannons. It has to seem like something you could make on your own."

"I'm not complaining. I honestly thought you'd turn me down," Lin Fan wiped the sweat off his head and activated the temple. "I can't go in with you right now. I have a few things I have to make before the morning comes. I have a few designs I have to complete, and a few girls to check up on."

"You're lucky Lin Fan," Glenn Kong waved as he looked over at Princess Mane as she brought over a plate of food towards Lin Fan. "Catered to by dozens of girls... I can't wait to see you again in six months. You'll probably be terrifying, and have even more girls."

"Lin Fan... An Moe is calling you... She needs some help with the design," Princess Mane smiled as Glenn Kong disappeared into the temple. "Sorry, did I disturb something, Lin Fan. I can come back later?"

"Perfect timing. Let's go... You won't believe what I designed.."
