My body shook slightly as I remembered the occurrence of the most horrific day of my life. The day when I lost all that was left of my human self. The day I became a piece that no longer seemed to fit in with the other piece.

"Kiergan, you need to see this!" Thane shouted and I jolted out of my thoughts, a bit disoriented. I looked towards his direction and I watched as he and the other two were bent over something; quite engrossed, then walked over to see for myself what they had seen.

We had left the grandstand earlier that day, and sneaked out of the school without anyone noticing, just so we could come to the place.

And, there we were; searching for what's not, or maybe it is, but we have no idea, and just kept guessing what could be.

"What have y'all found, that's got you this engrossed?" I asked as I joined in with their posture.

"Don't you have eyes? Figure them out yourself." Orion lashed out at me. Perhaps, I needed to stop this beef between Orion and I.

Pack members shouldn't be at each other's throats, they are supposed to work together, right?

"We found a bone." Joanna picked up the bone, examining it as though she would find a clue if she looked deeper and intensely. "It's a human bone. It looked as though it's been there since centuries."

"What do you mean? I don't understand." I questioned, confused. Is there supposed to be a difference between the time frame of dead humans' bones?

Joanna sighed deeply, and stood up with everyone following suit. She raised the bone, in symphony with the blazing sun, and began gently, "Bones from ages ago are weaker and brittle. They often show signs of fossilization or mineralization, sometimes leading to a darker appearance, which is very obvious with this."

"But, how did you know this?" Impressed was just an understatement as to what I felt at that moment. I felt proud.

"I'm a student, have you forgotten that much?" She stated, and left me standing there alone.

I could argue that I felt a tingle of bitterness, and anger in her voice, but why?

Orion patted my back as he walked past me, sneering. "Just give up already. She's mine forever."

"Nothing lasts forever—" I hadn't finished my statement when the little girl from that day ran past again, and my whole body stiffened, with sweat slowly yet as fast as it could, escaping out of every pores on my body.

Orion noticed, and grabbed me. "What is wrong with you, dude?! Kiergan! Talk to me, man!"

Slowly the world began to twirl around in my eyes, and Orion's words became distorted.

With my blurring sights, I saw Thane and Joanne also rushed over, but I could only see the movement of their mouths through my squinted eyes, but not the sounds to my ears.

I kept on blinking in an attempt to clear away the cloud, but the world continued to close in, quite unbothered by what happened afterwards, until I could no longer resist.

The hands of death— maybe, gripped me, and I was drawn into a deep slumber, only to wake up in a familiar, yet unfamiliar strange place, with my heart beating heavily against my chest as I circled trying to process the place.

However, all that I could take in was darkness.

Darkness. . . Darkness. . .

A hit of nostalgia touched me, and my breathing quickened. This was where—

"Kiergan Stormsurge. Here we are again."

Alas, it was my wolf. Then, I remembered. I somehow have managed to encase my wolf, and had lost every contact with him, since I met the Moon Goddess. I had thought that he wasn't needed anymore.

"Hey, you! Where have you been?!"

"Where you left me." He comported himself and started, "Straight to business. Where is the knife I gave to you?"

My heart made a quick beat as I tried to remember where I had dropped the knife. I scratched my head, lowering my gaze to avoid him, my body shivering subtly, "I can't seem to place where I dropped it. Do you have any idea, you're my wolf, by the way."

I raised my head when he refused me a response, only to meet him glaring daggers at me, his countenance as that of a burning flame.

I squeezed my eyes shut as the hotness of the fire caressed my eyes. "You brat! Where did you keep the knife?!"

"I sincerely have no idea where I kept it!"

"Find it!"

"What?! I just said I don't know where it is!"

"You need to find the goddamn knife, Kiergan!"

"Else?"

"Wait and see!" He snarled and suddenly vanished into the air, while I remained in the space, wondering what to do next, when suddenly, distorted voices began to echo throughout the space.

My mind suddenly became jumbled up, and I started to run, only to stop midway. Which way could be the right one?

The voices continued, and suddenly became like a loud piercing and screeching music, which shot into my ears, causing me to scream and closed my palms tightly against my ears, shutting my eyes closed in the process with all efforts.

However, like a fickle guest, just as the screaming had started, it stopped and was transformed into the worried voices of my Pack members.

"Wake up, Kiergan!"

"Don't do this, Kiergan! Open your eyes, man!"

"Kiergan, you need to open your eyes!"

I darted my eyes around, perhaps, I would find a way out, when suddenly the little girl in white appeared; giving a bit of light to the dark place, but her back against me.

Then, suddenly she began to giggle and run toward a certain direction, so I followed, and it was at that moment that I noticed the objects she was holding.

The bone and the knife.

Abruptly with much ado, I stopped in my pursuit to take a moment to breathe.

How on earth did they get to her hands?!

Immediately, the thought dropped in my mind, the girl's loud and harsh voice commanded firmly, sending unsolicited jerking shivers scattering across my spine. "They are mine!"

Fear gripped my heart, and my inside churn as the light eluding her began to come closer to where I was standing. While she moved forward, I started moving to the back.

"Kiergan."

Oh, she knows my name.

"They took everything from me. They stripped me off, and rendered me naked. They killed me." Her voice sounded so innocent, and childish, I couldn't believe it was the same girl I saw in the cave, the same girl who spoke earlier was the possessor.

"Who__ who are you referring to?" I swallowed the thick lump that had gathered in my throat painfully and continued, "I do not understand what you're trying__ trying to say. I need to understand you."

"They hurt me! They broke me! They shattered me!" My body trembled again under the strength of her voice. It's so funny how her voice changes every seconds.

Who was she by the way? Is she whom I am thinking she is?

"I am not her!" She shouted, and I jumped, almost falling, surprised that she could hear my mind too.

"So, who are you?" I asked, almost at the verge of crying. I was exhausted from all of the series of troubles here and there. I was going insane!

"Stop moving, and let me show you something!"

My head snapped as I remembered the image of her face that I had encountered in the cave, and decided it was best to not see her face this time.

The fact that I always seemed helpless in this realm always irked me quite much. And, that made me wonder how she got access to the place. Shouldn't the place be just for I and my wolf?

"Do not talk about wolves!" She growled, and it felt as though my heart stopped pumping for a minute, "Don't you want to become human again?"

The question caught me by surprise and I found myself stuck between the tug of right answers.

Although, I had pretended all along like I wasn't affected by being ridden of my normal life, I knew deep within my heart that I wanted my life back, no matter how worthless it was.

"You and your friends can become humans again."

"Don't listen to her, Kiergan!" My wolf suddenly appeared from the air, and shouted, catching me by surprise. I ran quickly to his back, and hid there.

"Do you know who she is?" I asked quietly.

"Yes, I do. And, from what I've gathered, she's not someone to be trusted."

"I thought you'd left me. I was wondering why you didn't come out earlier!"

Just as I finished speaking, the chilling atmosphere, suddenly became as hot as a furnace, and the girl began to screech, so much so that I had to block my ears from the noise. "You killed me! You slaughtered me! I'm going to kill you!"

It's becoming mysterious, isn't it?

Worry not, we'll get there. . .
