CH 16 #Dance of the mouse

"Good evening to all the guests and the school head members . Today we all are gathered here to witness the new queen of Kingston .!! Each and every girl present here dreams of becoming the Queen, but it is not that easy. The girls present here will go through rigorous procedure in order to be the queen ! " The thunderous applause rang ." Previous year the crown belonged to M's Lisa fang Give her a loud round of applause! Lia's eyes widened ' What ? queen? ' she looked around for Arran so that she could ask her about this .

She was nowhere to be found .

All girls were lined on the second floor , while boys were lined at the first floor .

"so now let us introduce the students of Kingston for the ball dance !" another round of applause rang.

The anchor called each girl's name as well as their partners name while the girl walked down the stairs , their partner were waiting at the foot of the stairs, for them . Then the duo will pass through the main gates , And then they will be escorted to the dance stage.

Lia saw Arran walking down the stairs with a knock on fake smile. She looked stunning with those red slit dress matched with red high heels paired with red necklace and earrings.

Arran looked like a messenger of death, covered with blood .

Lia's breath became heavy . She started panicking . 'What if I fell down ??' . 'What if no one claps for me ?' all those questions were covering her thoughts.

Names were called one by one .

The girl's upstairs , lessened.

Lia looked around and saw the same girl who was being bullied yesterday .

Sabrina frowned "Strange.... I gave it to ling Lin to pass your invite" she scratched her head .

Lia's expression darkened 'What the hell this ling lin wants from me???'

"Ah no problem I just want to know about the details" lia went on.

"oh! the Queen's contest is the second biggest contest of the year in Kingston . Many girls fight for the crown . But only one manages to grab that beautiful diamond studded crown " Sabrina stared at the crown dreamingly .

'If I pluck one diamond from the crown they won't notice it right?? I don't know whether I will stay here for another year or not.... this diamond will help me live a decent life ' lia was all dreamy and kept on staring at her golden ticket .

Sabrina turned towards lia and asked "will you participate ??"

"of course !!! what's the harm in participating for once !!" there was an unusual glow in her eyes .

"Now let's welcome Lia xi accompanying with Mike Rothswood Elizabeth l-" The host was about to say his full name, but suddenly someone yelled .

"Oh my god !!!!! look there is a mouse!!!"

The voice was strangely familiar .

Zack Bai . Shouted from the stage .

Girl's began to shrike and yell . Many stood up , on their chair's and began to yell.

Lia gnashed her teeth 'Zack fuckin Bai I will kill you !!! you ruined my chances to get the crown!'

"STOP IT!!!" Lia yell on top of her voice .

The commotion down the hall quietened .

"IT'S JUST A SMALL CREATURE !!! WHO does not hold any freaking grudges from all of you . " She couldn't control her anger and the surge of humiliation that she faced today .

"It won't even kill you ! It's not a lion or a tiger !! It's just a MOUSE who is more scared than you !" Lia saw few people getting down the chairs . While there were still few who refused to get down . "What are you waiting for ?? an invitation ??, so that you can move your arse down the chairs and table??? Are you getting Down or not??" she challenged the girls who refused to get down.

One by one every one got down .

"Um... so now let's invite Lia Xi with her partner to the ball!! let's give them a big hand!!"

The host cheered

But the hall was quite . Extremely Quite

Lia frowned , but tried to maintain a smile as she walked down the stairs.

Lia walked down and saw Mike standing there , giving her a warm smile and he extended his hand "Can I have this golden opportunity .To dance with my princess?? " .

Lia smacked his hand and grabbed his arm "Oh shut up ". She was beaming.

Many students gasped , While many talked , Some glared towards Lia in anger , While some were jealous.

Lia could hear few of them talking

" Oh my god ! How did she managed to have mike as her partner?? "

"Just look at her dress !! I have never seen anyone wearing this kind of dress!! It is so childish!"

"I hate that bitch ! how can she have my mike !!"

"That dress is gorgeous , I love it ! its soo different!"

Lia and mike arrived at the stage where she saw Arran whose eyes were staring at her dress and she looked up at lia and mouthed "From where did you buyed that dress!" .

Lia just winked back at her and concentrated at the present situation.

They had to dance .

"Umm I have to put my arms around your shoulders right???" lia asked hesitantly.

Mike sighed and put her arms around his neck and he slipped his arms around her waist and pulled her towards himself .

"This . is . called . a . ball . dance" his face was dangerously close to lia's .

Lia couldn't say anything . Her voice was stuck .

Lia looked around for any potential Mike long inside the ball room .

"So tell me Miss Xi , why are you so anxious?" Mike twirled her and she was in his arms again.

"Well Mr Mike uh I won't go for your long name . I am just looking for a potential candidate ."

"Potential candidate??" mike questioned while they danced.

"For my future boyfriend of course!" Lia laughed.

They were so busy in dancing and talking that they didn't realized that they were at the center and everyone was eyeing them .

They looked like a perfect couple . Who danced gracefully and were enjoying every moment of it.

Lia didn't sensed at all that her lips were almost touching Mike's .

"Lia...." Mike's voice was husky at that moment.

Mike was about to kiss Lia .

But

Suddenly the main gate opened .

"Sorry I am late..." A voice boomed
