PRETTY LITTLE LIAR

Angel's eyes fixated on Ares' body. She was both shocked, flustered, and undone.

In her head, she wondered how it was possible to be built the way he was.

His body was like a map. The tattoos, she couldn't explain, but they weren't tacky..

She hated tattoos. She hated the usual bad boy look.

It was all she had grown up seeing. They all surrounded her, hence her hatred for the aesthetic.

However, Ares was the kind she had never seen before.

His tattoos told a story. The way they were designed beautifully, down to his v-line, made her throat go try.

For a few seconds there, it didn't matter that he was holding on to snuggles.

She just wanted to run her hand down—- she froze.

In her review of his body, her eyes had gone beyond him, and caught sight of the gun laying on the gigantic bed.

She took a step back, and swiftly turned around.

Ares was confused by her reaction. He was pretty certain she had just been checking him out.

To go from that vivid scrutiny of his body with her eyes, to the sudden fear he felt emanate from her, was puzzling.

He turned his head behind to see what could have caused her fright.

Except for his closet, workspace, and bed, there was nothing else that could—

He paused. "No way," he muttered.

She couldn't be afraid of darling. There was no way in hell, she was afraid of a gun when her father was arguably one of the best gunslingers in their world.

But there was only one way to find out. He picked up darling, and walked towards her.

He moved around, and stopped in front of her. Only to see she had her eyes shut tightly.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

She heard the sound of his voice. His deep booming voice that sounded like gunshots.

Her heart skipped a beat, as she took a step backwards.

However when she remembered she was going towards the gun, her heart lurched to her mouth, and she took a giant leap forward.

At the same time, Ares had taken a step towards her.

His hands moved swiftly, placing darling in the same hand with snuggles, as he caught her with his free hand.

"What is wrong with you?" He asked, confused to his core.

She opened her eyes slowly, and the first thing she saw was darling.

She screamed, and began to thrash around as she tried to escape his hold.

"Let me go!" She cried out.

"No,you need to tell me what the hell is wrong with you," he said in his usual calm fashion.

"Take that away from me. Take it away from me!" She sang tirelessly, as she mustered all of her strength to pull away.

Her reaction pretty much confirmed his suspicion.

"Fine," he said, and let go.

She dashed backwards, and jumped on his bed.

Grabbing the pillow, she was going to use it to cover her face, when she remembered he just had a gun on the same bed she was on.

She threw the pillow to the ground, and jumped to her feet.

Hurrying towards the closet, she stopped just before it, and rested her back against it, as she tried to catch her breath.

In all of the theatrics, Ares watched her with fascination in his eyes.

She was either really crazy, or at least had a few nuts loose from her brain, he thought.

He brought darling up, a little bit offended that anyone could be scared of the pretty thing she was.

Still, he knew he wasn't going to go anywhere, without putting her away.

Muttering an apology to darling, he turned around, and walked to one side of the wall..

He pressed a button, and a case-like structure pulled out of the wall.

Placing darling into the case, he pressed another button, and it went back into the wall.

As he turned around, he found Angel watching him with fear in her eyes.

"So you're afraid of guns too?" He asked, holding on to snuggles.

"No? And what do you mean too? I'm not afraid of anything," she said, after reprimanding herself from failing to keep it together.

"You're lying. I hate liars," he said.

She scoffed. "So you've never lied? I mean I'm not saying I'm lying, but everyone lies." She shrugged.

"I don't," he countered.

"Well that's not true. I don't believe you."

He held back his retort. She had gone from almost collapsing at the sight of a gun, to being a smart mouth.

He would have been weirded out, if he wasn't so amazed.

"You don't like food, you're scared of guns, and you like to kiss. It would seem I already know everything about you in just a few days," he said confidently.

"Uhmmm, no you don't. You don't know anything about me. If you did, you'd know I love to shower. Something I've not been able to do since dawn. I'm still wearing my nightwear, and I feel so weird," she said, and squirmed.

His eyes dropped lower. She was right about still wearing her nightwear.

Only that last time he saw her, there was a robe covering the night wear.

There wasn't anymore. It was just a sheer gown that stopped just below her thighs, and had a v-neck that stretched almost down to her stomach..

"What are you doing?" She asked, when he kept staring at her.

He asked himself the same question. She wasn't his type, so what was he doing?

"Nothing," he cleared his throat, and shook his head.

Self conscious, Angel covered her body with her hand.

He caught the action, and scoffed in his mind.

"I think it's time to tell you why I brought you here. But first, you can have this back."

He threw snuggles towards her, catching her off guard.

It fell to the ground just before her, and she quickly dropped down to pick it up.

"Pay him no attention, baby. You're safe with me now," she said, and kissed its body.

Ares sighed in exhaustion, and confusion.

"Look, I don't have time for this. Have you thought about my request for the diamonds?"

She paused stroking Snuggles, and slowly rose to her feet.

"I don't know anything about any diamonds," she said once more.

Ares didn't budge, because he could tell like hell, she was lying.
