Lex was dodging the talon that was slashing and stabbing at him. He felt them slicing open dozens of wounds all over his body.

But he protected his midsection by deliberately taking hits when they came close to harming Midnight, who was inside his armor panicking due to the blood.

When the creature saw his movements, it realized Lex was protecting something and focused on that spot.

It struck a few more times but sensed the mana and became furious. He couldn't keep up with the attacks and backed off.

After all the dodging, Lex fired a fully charged mana bullet into the creature's face, causing a massive explosion.

His attack caused him to go flying backward and crash into a shop. As this happened, the Gatling Skyguards were still firing but slowing down.

But this didn't bother Lex as he had to survive this encounter. He crawled out of the rubble and saw the assassin heading toward it while slaying some Gear Knights who appeared.
