Lex's spell slammed into the Hivefiends, wiping them out in a tsunami of mana and turning them into dust. When the defenders saw this, they increased their attacks. The Gatling Skyguards and Mana Cannons roared to life.

A wave of attacks struck the Hivefiend horde charging toward the city. The Steam Hammers and Howler Cannons started shooting into the creatures that wiped them out. Lex, Nephthys, Asha, Emilia, and Elara rushed toward the trenches where the soldiers were.

The two large cats cast spells that destroyed the Hivespawns and got close. Lex rushed into the trenches after some Gear Knights ushered them in. Soon, waves of magic shot over them as the city's mages cast their spells.

When the soldiers saw Emilia, they all knelt, but she waved them away as they made their way through the city's bustling streets; they were escorted by a group of heavily armed guards clad in the city's colors.
