When Lex saw this thing, it reminded him of the queen aliens from sci-fi movies back on Earth, but this thing had a dozen talons poised to strike at any moment, and he knew that they could easily puncture a hole through Steam Hammer's armor.

She was black, with red highlights decorating her formidable talons. Lex noticed hundreds of Hive Warriors lingering behind her, which confused him. He assumed they would charge at them, but it looked like the queen was holding them back.

His conclusion was right as the massive Lower Hive Queen stepped forward and roared, its deafening cry echoing through the hive's cavernous space. The three women covered their ears as the noise assaulted them instinctively.
