It has only been 2 days since the void beast incident, but he felt like it had been a long time. So many things occurred, he had forgotten what a normal life feels like. Lying on the bed, reminiscing about the life he had on earth. Oh, how nice that life had been; but if he were given a chance to choose between one and the other, 10/10 he would pick this life.

On the interface, a diamond-looking loot box appears, just like the time when he played CS:GO. Jayce pressed the "open" button.

The box opened, then different images of various miniature beasts showed up on the screen. At first glance, he could see a monstrous-looking creature, like a Cthulhu, with tentacles on its face, massive wings on its back. Then next to the Cthulhu is a golden Chinese dragon with 5 claws, looking extremely cool and intimidating.

Jayce looking at these beasts with drool dripping down his face, oh how he wishes to just own all of them.

*DING DING DING* The wheel started to roll horizontally. [AN: Search up CS:GO loot box for visualization.]

The wheel spun so fast that he could not see the beasts within. Then after a few seconds, the wheel started to slow down.

*ding...ding...ding.*

'Please, give me the dragon, please, please, please.' Jayce crosses his finger while praying to the lord above, the RNG GOD! Imagine him riding on a golden dragon across the sky, HOW COOL IS THAT!?

The wheel slows down, coming to a stop. He sees it, the Dragon! As the needle got closer to the dragon, the wheel stopped.

'....' Jayce stared at the screen with despair. The needle was literally on the edge, bordering the "Dragon" with a close margin. He felt like winning a lottery but was told that the scratch ticket expired! What kind of joke is this!?

He then looked at the image the needle pointed to with reluctance and sadness. The image makes him want to commit seppuku! It was a seed, A.FUCKING.SEED?

'I COULD HAVE GOTTEN A COOL DRAGON OR A CTHUHULU BUT YOU GAVE ME A SEED!?' Jayce inwardly exclaimed in anger. Then tears started to drip down his cheeks, this life is unfair and cruel, my cool dragon, noooooo!

After several minutes of weeping, he wipes his tears as he looks at the information.

'DING! Congratulations, Player obtained a Mythical Pet, The seed of beginning.'

'Name: The seed of beginning.'

'Description: An unknown seed with unknown origin.'

'WTF is this? Unknown? Even the seemingly omnipotent system doesn't know the background of the seed.' Jayce muttered; his depressing mood turns brighter.

'But what do I do with this.' He held the normal-looking seed, aside from being bigger than most of the seeds, he doesn't find anything particular about the seed. What does he do with this?

Then he thought of something; what did those MC do when they obtained some magical items?

*bite*

Jayce bit his thumb, a small amount of blood started to drip down. He positioned the seed below the dripping blood. The moment his blood and the seed touched.

*PING* A light shone, the seed magically float out of his hand and rushed into his body; like a child that has found his beloved mother. Then the seed magically merged phased through his body.

'DING! Player has merged with the seed of beginning. Please choose one of the following options.

Supply the seed with pure essence, halving your daily intake of Pure essence. Reward: Germinate within 3 months

Let the seed absorb the Arcane essence by itself. Reward: Germinate within 10 years.

Jayce contemplated the options and picked the first one. Although his daily intake of pure essence will be halves, the germination process will be faster. In this dangerous world, he can't afford to wait 10 years.

'If I merge with Chapter.2 of genesis, will it also be halved?' Jayce asked, this is what he is concerned about the most, he has not merged with Chapter 2 yet, so his daily intake is 1 pure-essence, half of It means 0.5, if he merges with Chapter 2, then the seed will be absorbing 5 pure essences.

'DING! Yes, if player merges with Chapter 2, the seed will absorb 50% of the daily intakes of Pure essence, speeding up the germination process by 2 months.' The cold mechanical system voiced in his head.'

'That's good.' If he merges with the chapter, meaning he will have 10 pure essences daily intakes. Then 5 of it will go to the seed, leaving with 5 lefts (25 AP and stamina). The germination process will be sped up, although he doesn't know what the seed does, it's worth the investment considering its mysterious background.

After a few minutes of checking his body, he doesn't feel anything abnormal happening within his body, he breathes a sigh of relief and looks at his other reward.

'Chapter 2 of Genesis:

'System what is luck?' he asked. Finally getting the chance to ask about this matter had been on his mind.

'DING! Answering to player. Luck is a hidden mechanism that can be found in every living being, their karma fate.'

'NO WONDER, NO FUCKING WONDER!' Jayce came to a realization, no wonder he had gotten shit throws at him these past few days. His luck was bad! It was all because of the chapters!?

'How do I increase my luck stat?' he asked hopefully, the chapters are too important to him, his foundation. Without it, he would not be this strong; even if Jayce wants to, he doesn't know how to unmerge with the chapter as it's stitched to his soul.
