2 Wanting freedom

Daisy took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly, trying to calm herself down because the memories of the past made her very unmotivated to do anything. The girl was still silent in her room, staring at the window which showed a quiet outside atmosphere because the brothel was surrounded by a tight and quite high wall fence. All that made her feel like a bird in a cage that was not allowed to enjoy the beauty of the world.

"Daisy!"

Daisy turned towards the open door. She saw one of her friends named Clarissa coming towards her.

"You've been in the room all day, I think you'll be laying eggs soon," Clarissa said with a chuckle, staring at Daisy moved into the bed.

Daisy lay down, using her right hand as a support for her head. She looked at Clarissa who was now sitting near her feet carrying a glass of red wine.

"What can I do other than stay here?" Daisy asked lazily. "Madam Nicole doesn't let us hang out for a bit... It's boring in here...I think I'm going crazy... I want to enjoy the beauty of the world!"

"I feel that too, Daisy. But this is what we have to live like it or not," Clarissa said casually.

"This fate is unfair, really unfair."

"About justice, we can't demand it here because here we are only slaves, slaves who are never considered worthy of justice," Clarissa said, then drank her red wine again.

"I think tonight we will have a special guest because Madam Nicole ordered the best red wine at a fairly expensive price," she continued.

"I don't care," Daisy said wearily.

Clarissa sighed, looking at Daisy who seemed to have no enthusiasm at all. The girl who wore a red dress with open shoulders and tied her hair in a ponytail realized that her friend did not enjoy their profession as a prostitute.

"I'm tired," Daisy whispered.

"I know...I'm tired too, I feel like going but I can't," Clarissa said.

Daisy let out a shaky breath, then lay down and stared at the ceiling. "Sometimes I always think, wonder... Is it possible that this brothel will be my nest for life? sometimes I wonder why fate like this happened to me... It makes me feel like God didn't allow me to taste the thing called freedom and happiness."

"I know how you feel… But I have a feeling that our lives will not end in this place."

"How can you be sure of that?" Daisy asked.

"I don't know, but I'm sure we'll be able to leave this place."

Daisy was silent, closing her eyes for a moment wondering what if she ran away while Nicole and the thugs were sleeping, or gave them sleeping pills? maybe she succeeded, but she didn't know where she could get such sleeping pills while leaving the brothel wasn't even allowed.

"I'm stressed ... I'm dizzy," she said.

"Then you should talk to Madam Nichole so you don't have to go to the auction tonight," Clarissa said, glancing at Daisy who was lying down, massaging her head.

Daisy smiled faintly. "She will never give permission..instead she would torture me if I wasn't up for auction tonight. But it's better... Leaving my body hurt and helpless then no man will want to use me as their slave."

"Don't hurt yourself because of that, it'll only make it more difficult for you," Clarissa exclaimed.

"Do you think it's not that difficult now?" Daisy asked with a sinister smile at Clarissa. "Stayed here only to be fed and watered, allowed to rest during the day, then at night treated like horses for money. To satisfy perverted-brained men... This is so disgusting, Clarissa. Don't you know we're disgusting!"

"I know Daisy..but we can't do anything… We don't even have a cell phone to access the internet or call 911 for help!" Clarisa asserted very seriously. "I also want to be free, I want to be free too, then look for a better job. but madam won't let that happen. The consequences will be dire if we run away and fail... We could become targets for the brutality of her ugly thugs!"

Daisy fell silent again, feeling that what Clarissa had said was true. they couldn't get out of the brothel because the guards were too tight, and maybe when they managed to escape the thugs would chase them until they could and drag them back to the brothel again to be on a slaves.

"You lived with the madam since childhood, maybe you can get mercy from her so you can be free," Clarissa said, interrupting Daisy's thoughts.

"That's impossible," said Daisy, sitting up.

"Nothing is impossible. You can try."

Daisy fell silent, thinking about Clarissa's suggestion. The shadow of the burden to satisfy the passion of the man who bought her, made her feel very sick, and didn't want to do it again, because sometimes the man was not polite to her, even giving her pain while serving him.

"Okay, I'll try to talk to her," she said then stood up. She walked out of the room, leaving Clarissa who still wanted to relax there.

____

A woman who looks sexy, wearing a black overalls dress with open sleeves and letting her hair down just like that, is sitting relaxed on the couch in the living room while enjoying lemon tea. She was 40 years old, still looks young, and wearing heavy make-up that made her look like she was in her 30s.

"Madam Nicole...."

The woman turned towards the door when she heard her name being called. The woman who turned out to be Nicole who played the pimp smiled, seeing Daisy coming towards her.

"Hi, Sweetie. Come here... We have something to talk about," she called, shifting her seat, and allowing Daisy to sit beside her.

Daisy is speechless with strange feelings for Nicole's being so sweet to her but it's all just a mask. To her, she was a very cruel woman because she often tortured her if she didn't want to serve customers.

"I want to go to California," she said still standing.

"Why?" Nicole asked casually.

"I'll find a job there. When I'm working and have a salary, I will always send my salary to you, because I don't want to be your customer's satisfaction anymore," Daisy explained with her flat gaze.

Nicole smiled sarcastically, then drank her lemon tea little by little.

"I'm so tired and I'm afraid I'll catch a disease if I keep up the habit here," Daisy said, tired and sick of Nicole's seeming to ignore her.

"And do you think that once you arrive in California, you will find work easily?" Nicole asked then stood up and walked leisurely to Daisy who was about 5 meters away from her. "When someone wanders without a guide or a friend who can help them find a job, it will be very difficult. Especially nowadays, jobs are difficult to find, especially for high school graduates..so it's useless for you to struggle because no company will accept you. Maybe you work in a shop for very low wages... Wouldn't it be better to stay here making thousands of dollars every night, having fun, and being able to rest completely during the day?"

"But this is disgusting!" said Daisy, annoyed.

"But you enjoyed it," Nicole said with a smile, looking at Daisy, who is so beautiful and sexy that she has many fans, the majority of whom are wealthy people. "You better stay here….and you will stay here until you can't die or can't serve customers!" She continued firmly.

"But I can't, I have the right to choose my path!" Daisy said, getting annoyed and even angry at Nicole's attitude.
