We Have Plenty of Time

Rubbing her shoulders, Wen Ning felt as though she was about to fall apart. All the documents she had been handling for the entire day were all trivial matters.

It was already dark outside. Wen Li had already called several times and asked her when she was going back. As she comforted her son, she was uncertain as to when she could get off work.

"Mr Song, can I get off work now?"

Wen Ning walked out of the office and knocked on the door of the General Manager. However, there was no response.

She pushed the door open and realized that there was no one inside.

When she looked outside, she realized that all the lights in the company were off. She was all alone.

Gritting her teeth, Wen Ning packed up the unfinished documents and prepared to leave the company to go home for overtime work.

Unexpectedly, just as she was about to close the office door, a voice came from a dark corner. "Have you finished your work?"

Wen Ning was shocked. "Ah…"

A dark figure stood up from the shadows and stared at Wen Ning coldly. "You weren't so timid in the past!"

When the person came before Wen Ning, Wen Ning was stunned. Yan Heng?

"You… why are you here?" Wen Ning stammered.

Shouldn't he be at Yan Corporation?

Yan Heng smiled. "This is my company, why can't I be here?"

"Your company?" Wen Ning's eyes widened in shock. She suddenly understood what was going on when she thought about how difficult it had been for her in the past few days.

"So, it was your idea to arrange for me to work here?" Wen Ning was furious. "Yan Heng, you're really a despicable person! Haven't you been against me since we were young? Now you're at it again!"

No way! She had to quit no matter what!

Wen Ning threw the folder into Yan Heng's arms. "I quit!"

"Have you thought it through? The contract clearly states that if either party breaches the contract, the penalty will be ten times the amount of the collaboration!"

Yan Heng held a contract in his hand and looked at Wen Ning teasingly.

Stunned, Wen Ning pounced at Yan Heng. "Give me the contract!"

She might as well tear it up.

However, Wen Ning could not reach the contract with Yan Heng raising his arm. After jumping a few times, Wen Ning accidentally hit the corner of the table and bent over in pain.

"It's been a few years since we last met, but you seem to have become much weaker!" Yan Heng squatted down beside Wen Ning. "Why? Did you become meek after finding your true love?"

Wen Ning rolled her eyes at Yan Heng and said in a low voice, "Why can't you just let me off?"

"Let you off?" Yan Heng smiled and shook his head. "Wen Ning, aren't you thinking too lowly of me! Do you think I invested so much in your family business just to take revenge on you for bullying me when we were young?"

"I have better things to do! Every investment I make will be rewarded, including this time. I've already told you the reason why I asked you to work here. You have to show me your ability to convince me. Only then can I trust that I would not make a loss."

Wen Ning looked at Yan Heng skeptically. "Are you for real?"

Yan Heng smiled and nodded.

Of course that was the case. It was just that the returns for each investment were different.

Wen Ning stopped talking.

Yan Heng smiled and extended an invitation to Wen Ning. "You've been busy all day and haven't eaten yet, right? Let's go, I'll treat you!"

"No need, I still have something on!"

Wen Ning picked up the folder from the ground and left the office without looking back.

Yan Heng smiled and said, "It's alright, we have plenty of time."
