Group Battle

After a few moments that seemed like an eternity to Matthew because of the large amount of zombie that was approaching towards the group, both sides clashed.

When a group of five zombies arrived at the same time in front of Matthew and tried to punch him, Matthew made a roll back and cut off the head of a zombie who then died and was trampled by other zombies who took his place shortly after his fall.

The five zombies then jumped for about ten feet and tried to punch Matthew who was crouched on the floor. Matthew immediately lowered his head and cut off the leg of the five zombies, succesfully making them fell to the ground and began to turn as they tried to crawl toward Matthew.

Without wasting any time, Matthew ran and decapitated the head of the five fallen zombies on the ground. Pool of blood began to form beside the corpse. But Matthew didn't have time to take a deep breath as he was hit by a punch in the back. Luckily for him, the skill [SHIELD OF SALVATION] was activated by the cost of one of mana and Matthew was sent flying while cursing inside his head, "Shit! I forgot there are more zombies behind me!"

After two seconds Matthew finally hit a wall and the [SHIELD OF SALVATION] skill was activated again costing two mana to protect him from impact. Matthew then turned around and saw that everyone was going through difficulties in the fight against the zombies; Bethany who after killed a zombie was being surrounded; Tom who was holding a spear stabbing the head of a zombie and had to pull the spear and retreat quickly when a punch passed close to his head.

The only ones who were doing well in this battle were Matthew, who had been sent flying when he was killing the zombies, the man who had gotten a pistol, he had killed about five zombies. What made Matthew surprised was his pistol made no noise when he fired. On the other side, he saw Little Black who had killed about three zombies as she curled around the zombies' body and swallowed their heads and then headed for the next. Somehow the zombies could not fight Little Black, that was extremely agile.

Tom then defended himself from a zombie attack and took advantage of the attack to throw himself back and shouted loudly to the others, "We've all drawn a lot of zombies! Back off quickly!" Hearing this, Matthew then mentally ordered Little Black to step back for a few yards while continuing to attack the zombies.

Everyone began to back down as they took advantage of the urge to defend themselves from the zombie attack they were facing. An irrelevant piece of zombies from the giant horde moved away from the other zombies. Tom's group got an average of six zombies each to face after they managed to get far enough away to draw no more zombies.

Matthew then pushed himself up the wall and ran toward the small zombie horde again when he realized that the zombies he was facing were heading toward Bethany. But then, he realized he couldn't reach the zombies before the zombies reached Bethany. Activating [LIGHT KI], he killed eight zombies he was supposed to deal with before he ran towards Bethany.

Matthew felt a surge of fatigue after activating the skill, but he willed himself to keep running toward Bethany in fear she could not face the zombies alone. When he arrived after four seconds Matthew had already killed two more zombies, plus the first one she had already killed while they were luring. Although it cost some minor injuries to her, she soon left when they used [MINOR CURE].

"I came to give you some help, Beth." Matthew said to her. Hearing he came to help her, instead of saying thank you, Bethany half-scolded him, all the while she was still fighting the remaining three zombies. "Do not you dare, Matthew! They're mine! I cannot depend on your help forever!"

Matthew then sighed and watched the battle going on in the vicinity. The young man Matthew did not know who used a pistol had already killed his zombies and retreated while the others were fighting with their respective zombies yet.

Matthew saw a scene he thought he would only see in anime and movies. All sorts of magical skills were being used; the only woman in Tom's group was using a whip that was on fire while firing a fireball into the zombies, another man wore an iron mace and crushed the zombie's head while his skill was several thorny vines that came out of his body and covered a distance of ten meters of him, inflicted wounds and disrupted the zombies.

Matthew then saw that Little Black had already finished the three zombies he was facing and commanded mentally, "Little Black, eat the corpse of zombies that are already dead."

Matthew then felt a wave of joy coming from the connection he felt with Little Black and sat down to rest from the fatigue that [LIGHT KI] imposed on his body. After a few minutes the battle was finally over and Matthew heard a noise and a notice popping up in his vision.
