Bethany Is Increasing Her Battle Experience

The python, after eating the corpses, began to crawl until it reached Matthew's feet and then began to climb Matthew's body until it reached his neck and settled on his shoulders.

Matthew then started walking toward Bethany and the last zombie. As he approached Bethany, she was startled when she saw a snake around Matthew's shoulder.

Bethany then asked:

"How the hell did a snake appear on your shoulder?"

Matthew then smiled and replied:

"This is a skill I've just won in this fight against the zombies. I was really hoping to win one of those when it all started. I still can't believe I got an invocation so quickly."

Bethany then exclaimed:

"Lucky! Pray your luck will not end quickly and you will die because this."

Hearing her exclaim, Matthew began to laugh as he said:

"You're just jealous that I got a super OP skill."

Matthew then commanded the python:

"Honey, go eat the last remaining zombie. I can't wait to see what you'll become when you evolve."

Then he stroked the python who made a face of satisfaction and set it down. It slithered toward the zombie and devoured him.

Bethany was surprised when she saw the python devour the zombie and it vanished in its stomach.

"Why did you order it to eat the zombie's corpse? And why did the corpse disappear the minute it reached her stomach?" She asked.

Matthew answered her questions as the python returned to his side, this time, it settled in his right arm.

"It can level up and evolve by eating the corpses of the zombies. As for why they disappear when they reach its stomach, it is because it absorbs all the evolutionary material that the body contains."

Thobias and the group approached Matthew and Bethany as the both of them were talking. When they saw there was a snake next to both of them, they retreated, thinking that it was a monster. But when they saw that Matthew and Bethany were not preparing for a fight, they walked towards them and Julie asked:

"Why is there a snake here and why are not you fighting with it?"

Bethany then responded as she pouted:

"The answer to your two questions is the same. The snake is a skill that Matthew gained when we finished killing the zombies."

After saying that, she turned around and asked Matthew:

"Have you given her a name yet?"

"I haven't. Why would I give a name to a skill?" Was his reply.

Betthany looked at him as if he were foolish, then she said:

"Well, maybe because she's realistic enough. She even eats things. Since you don't care about it, then I'll name her Little Black."

Matthew felt a headache coming when he imagined Bethany would enjoy playing with Little Black. Then he said to her:

"Okay, I'll accept you to name her Little Black, but do not think my python will be something for you to have fun with. It will be a powerful invocation and it will help me in the battles."

Bethany laughed as she answered:

"She may even become all of those, but she'll still have to play with me when there's nothing going on."

Matthew felt a headache and knew that she would insist until he accepted. Matthew sighed and said:

"Okay, but only in my spare time and no fluffy play with her. I want a powerful invocation that has a dignified image."

Bethany laughed as she nodded. Matthew's intuition said that this laughter didn't mean that she had agreed.

The group then stopped talking and wasted their time as they resumed their journey to the parking lot where the bus was.

They walked for about ten minutes. When they were finally near the parking lot, they spotted a zombie. Matthew then said:

"Beth, I'll let you deal with it. You need to train a little more, so you can protect everyone when I am not around."

Bethany then nodded and fitted her shield and short katana, took a deep breath and started walking toward the zombie.

When Bethany got ten feet from the zombie, he finally noticed her and started running toward her. Bethany then took a deep breath and stepped into a combat stance as she felt the anxiety grew. It only took 5 seconds for the zombie to catch up with her.

Knowing that she did not have the strength or the constitution to resist the impact of the zombie blow, she decided to sidestep a little and at the last moment, hit the shield on the underside of the zombie's arm, thus deflecting the blow.

When the zombie blow was almost reaching Bethany, she took a step to the side and hit the top of the shield at the bottom of the zombie's arm.

Bethany heard a snap as the zombie's arm broke through the impact. The zombie's forearm was almost falling as the wound was so exposed it was visible to the bone.

Recovering the focus, Bethany swung the katana towards the remaining arm of the zombie, cutting it, thus leaving the zombie without both arms. The zombie tried to bite Bethany's neck but she slammed the shield into the zombie's face. As he fell to the ground from the impact, she crushed his head with the shield, spreading bits of brain and blood everywhere.
