Prologue

When I was a little girl, my mother would tell me all these great stories of our kingdom, the small kingdom of Irwin, located off the Atlantic Ocean. How the great knights helped keep our kingdom alive, when we went to war a hundred years ago, how our family the Walters helped save the royal family. My mother would always say how King Edward made a promise to my great grandfather that some day our family would wed into the royal one, all these years went by and my family still holds on to that promise, every time a girl in my family would turn seventeen, they would cross their fingers it was them, that they were the lucky ones, but one by one their hope was crushed. That was until the week of my seventeenth birthday and King Edward III felt deathly ill, and his only son needed to wed, to take over the throne when he passed. That was when we found out the promise would be held through.
