Showing Too Much Skin

Chris smiled and so did Yakobo for this was their chance to tell Elsa the price of their help.

[Yes! Go ahead Chris, this is your chance. Ask her to mate with you right now!] Yakobo exclaimed impatiently.

'Are you in heat? All you think of is mating with her. She hasn't even acknowledged us as her mate and yet you already want to mate with her. Just shut up and leave everything to me.'

Elsa raises her brow as she waits for Chris' response but the guy looks like he is thinking what to say. "So? Are we just going to stare at each other?"

"Sorry about that, my wolf was just saying something. As you know, I don't have anywhere to go and I am looking for someone. So, let me stay here while I look for her, and at the same time, I will help you find answers about your glowing arm. How's that?"

Elsa squinted her eyes and thought for a moment, "How can you help me?"

"Alphas like me can tap into other's memories and erase them as well. I saw a bit from your dad's memories that you were adopted, perhaps we can start from there?"

Elsa pursed her lips, tilted her head, and narrowed her eyes at Chris.

[She's scary.]

'Scary indeed.' Chris is slowly getting to know his mate and he is liking her more and more despite her feistiness.

Even though it was not his original plan, he promised himself and Yakobo that he would do his best to make her like him. Not everyone is lucky to find their mate, so this is a chance that he will not waste.

If he needs to kidnap her, he would. But for now, he would try to sway her heart to love him and persuade her to come with him when he finds a way to get back.

"How would I know that I could trust you?" Elsa couldn't help but hesitate. This man is not even human, to begin with.

"You have no choice but to trust me. Just like I have no choice but to ask for your help. The gateway led me to you, so I think there must be a connection to why we met," Chris remarked before he gently took a strand of her hair and breathed in its scent.

Elsa swatted his hand away and gave him a gentle shove. "You're correct, there's no other option," she conceded. She then strolled toward the living area, casting a brief glance back at Chris. "Wait for me. I'll need to prepare before we dive into business."

Chris was not able to say anything anymore because Elsa was gone in a flash.

Chris waited patiently while looking around the living room, looking for clues.

[Just what are you doing?] Yakobo asked, feeling ashamed of what Chris was doing.

'Checking… There might be some things that we didn't see earlier,' Chris said before he heard Elsa coming.

"I'm all set, let's get moving," Elsa exclaimed while descending the stairs. When she didn't hear any response from Chris, she turned her gaze toward him and saw him staring at her in astonishment, his mouth hanging open.

Elsa glanced down at her outfit, a white floral spaghetti-strap babydoll dress paired with brown sandals, to check if there was anything wrong with it. After not finding any issue, she redirected her gaze toward Chris.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that? Is it ugly on me? J-Just say something!" Elsa felt annoyed at how Chris was looking at her when she tried to look her best.

"T-That's too much!" Chris uttered in a loud voice.

"You don't have to yell like that… Gosh, you can just say I have too much makeup without yelling," Elsa retorted and wiped her face with her hands.

"Not that. Are you going to sleep? Your dress is way too short, it's showing too much skin. Go back and change." Chris sat on the sofa while crossing his arms.

"Why should I do that? I purchased this a long time ago and this is my only chance to finally wear it. I always wear scrubs at work, so, no. I am not changing, let's go," Elsa then walked towards the door but Chris quickly blocked her way.

"Change now, princess or do you want me to show you how easy will it be for any man to touch you between your legs while you wear that?" Chris sarcastically remarked.

Elsa scoffed, "It is only you who think that way. You are the one who's running nake–" Elsa stepped back as soon as she saw Chris move his hands towards her. "Fine! I will change, grandpa!"

Elsa went back upstairs stomping her feet after giving Chris a side-eye. On the other hand, Chris watched her go back to her room with a smirk.

Elsa changed into a ruffled chiffon sleeveless top and fitted denim jeans. She went out of the house as soon as she went downstairs and did not give Chris any chance to go against her choice of clothing.

Chris immediately followed her out of the house with furrowed brows. He still doesn't approve of what she's wearing because women dress more conservatively where he came from.

"Get in. I'll drive." Elsa quickly gets in the driver's seat to avoid whatever Chris is planning to say. "Put on your seatbelt," Elsa added as soon as Chris was seated in the passenger's seat.

Chris saw a lot when he looked into Ambros' memory; part of it is how some things work in Elsa's world which he intentionally looked for since he knows that it will come in handy. But putting on seatbelts is not one of them.

"What is a seatbelt?" Chris asked innocently.

"Where are you from anyways?" Elsa uttered before she moved closer to Chris and pulled his seatbelt.

Chris was taken aback since he was always the one who goes into her personal space. Everything seems to slow down as he stares at her face and freely smells her scent.

'She's beautiful, Yakobo,' Chris unconsciously said to his wolf.

[Then tell her. Why are you telling me when I already know it!]

"You're beautiful…" Chris absentmindedly told Elsa as he buckled him up.

Elsa smirked and gave him a glance before starting the engine, "I know."
