The Royal Lie: A Tale Of Passion & Pride

“If you two aren’t dating, then why did you spend the night together?” My mother gave us both a questioning expression. The kitchen fell silent, neither one of us knowing what to say. “Please don’t tell me you two are just fucking?” Leave it to mothers to make everything awkward. - Hannah Oba was a badass by any measure – royal, rich and incredibly sexy. With an ice heart and sassy attitude, the rebellious princess had mastered the art of not giving a damn. Getting a job at one of the world’s largest corporations, she never imagined she’d get entangled with her boss’s adopted son, Park-Lee Junghwan. Junghwan was everything she hated – charming, kind and a ray of sunshine. With his puppy-like personality and sparkling eyes, something about the raven-haired boy just rubbed her the wrong way. However, when she accidentally spends a night with him, things quickly get complicated. Having no choice, Hannah is forced into a fake relationship with the one person she despises. But the line between the truth and deception becomes blurred when the demons of her past come knocking. Someone wants her dead, and they will stop at nothing to make it happen. Now everything she’s ever cared for is at risk, including the starry-eyed man with secrets pretending to be her lover. Can they overcome their enemies and escape her dark past? Or will they both discover that love is always a losing game? NOTE: This is a SHORT STORY of only 30 chapters. So if you're looking for a quick but captivating romance then this is just for you. If you want a longer story, you can check out my other work(s). Happy reading!

Better Than She Can

Hwan's POV

"Park Jungwoo?"

I awkwardly looked between Hannah and her father as he addressed me by that name. "No, Sir. My name is Park-Lee Junghwan. My father was Park Jungwoo."

"Unbelievable!" the grey-haired man exclaimed, shaking his head in shock. "What a small world!"

Confused, I raised a brow. "You knew my father?"

"Knew him? He was one of my best friends back in my internship days in Korea! I can't believe you're his son! You look just like him!"

Before I could respond, he threw his arms around me in a tight embrace. "Tell me, how is my old friend? I lost contact when I left South Korea."

Letting me out of his hold, he smiled down at me, expectantly awaiting my reply. Suddenly feeling uncomfortable under his stare, I averted my gaze. Clearly, he didn't know what happened to my father and I didn't want to be the one to tell him.

It would hurt me as much as it would hurt him.

"Why so quiet, son? Is he okay?"
