After a day's journey, Ethan finally emerged from the dense Viridian Forest and reached Pewter City.
The transition from the forest's green canopy to the bustling city streets was a welcome change.
The buildings varied from modern structures to older, stone-built ones, reflecting the city's rich history.
At the city entrance, Ethan was greeted by Officer Jenny.
He couldn't help but notice that while each Officer Jenny had the same teal-colored hair and uniform, they had distinct facial features.
Despite this, they still gave off a feeling of similarity, which Ethan found intriguing.
"Welcome to Pewter City," Officer Jenny said with a friendly smile as she inspected his trainer ID.
"Everything seems in order. Enjoy your stay and take good care of your Pokémon."
"Thank you, Officer," Ethan replied, appreciating her diligence.
Making his way to the Pokémon Center, Ethan reflected on the unique qualities of each Nurse Joy he had encountered.
While they all had the same hair color and uniform, their facial features differed subtly.
Yet, their warmth and professionalism were constants that made Ethan feel at ease.
At the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy welcomed him warmly. After a brief check-in process, Ethan handed over Eevee, Scyther, and Spearow for their regular health check-up.
"We'll ensure they're in top condition," Nurse Joy assured him.
"Thank you, Nurse Joy," Ethan said gratefully.
After handing his Pokémon to Nurse Joy, Ethan moved toward the nearby video phone to inform Professor Oak that he had reached Pewter City.
After a few rings, Professor Oak's face appeared on the screen, his expression lighting up as he saw Ethan. "Ethan, my boy! Good to see you. How's Pewter City treating you?"
"It's great, Professor Oak," Ethan replied enthusiastically. "I made it here safely, and I even caught a Scyther!"
"Fantastic news!" Professor Oak exclaimed, genuinely pleased. "Scyther is a remarkable Pokémon. You're doing exceptionally well, Ethan."
"Thank you, Professor," Ethan said gratefully. "I'll keep you updated on my journey. How are things at the lab?"
"We're busy as always," Professor Oak chuckled. "Lots of research and new discoveries. Oh, hold on a moment. Someone's at the door."
Professor Oak glanced to the side as a knock sounded on his door. "Ah, Ethan, I'll have to cut our call short. I'll talk to you later, alright?"
"No problem, Professor," Ethan replied with a smile. "Take care."
With a wave, Professor Oak ended the call,
After some exploration of Pewter City, Ethan returned to the Pokémon Center to retrieve his Pokémon.
With them back in his care, he headed straight for the training ground, a spacious facility attached to the Pokémon Center designed for trainers to practice and hone their skills.
Releasing Eevee, Scyther, and Spearow for a well-deserved lunch break, Ethan observed his Pokémon with pride.
Scyther, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Ethan, displayed a respectful demeanor, acknowledging Ethan's strength as the trainer who had captured him.
Meeting Scyther's gaze, Ethan spoke earnestly. "Scyther, I'm glad to have you on the team. Together, we'll grow stronger."
Scyther nodded in understanding, his sharp eyes reflecting determination. "Scyther."
Quickly preparing their meals—a mix of berries, high-quality grains, and supplements tailored to their needs—Ethan watched as his Pokémon eagerly savored the nourishing food.
For Scyther, this meal was a significant improvement from what he had foraged in the wild.
As they ate, Ethan studied them closely. Spearow, still an infant, soon succumbed to sleep after his meal. Ethan smiled fondly, understanding the importance of rest for young Pokémon.
With Spearow asleep, Ethan focused on training Eevee and Scyther. "Alright, Eevee, let's practice some moves. Start with Quick Attack."
"Eevee~!" Eevee darted forward with impressive speed, executing Quick Attack flawlessly.
"Good job, Eevee! Now, Tackle!" Ethan commanded next.
Eevee lunged forward, ramming into a practice target with force.
"Next, try Bite!" Ethan instructed, curious to see Eevee's proficiency with the move.
Eevee closed in on the target, sinking her teeth in a controlled manner.
"Excellent! Now, Swift!" Ethan prompted, wanting to test Eevee's accuracy.
Eevee's eyes glowed briefly as she launched stars that hit the target unerringly.
"Great work, Eevee! You're doing fantastic," Ethan praised, impressed by her adaptability.
Ethan then decided to try something new. "Eevee, let's see if you can learn Charm."
Eevee focused, trying to understand Ethan's instructions.
To Ethan's surprise, Eevee mastered the move almost instantly, a gentle aura enveloping her.
"Well done, Eevee!" Ethan exclaimed, pleased with her quick progress. "You're really something."
Eevee wagged her tail happily, clearly proud of herself.
Then Ethan's gaze met Scyther "Alright, Scyther,"
Ethan began, his voice firm yet encouraging. "Let's work on mastering some new moves."
Scyther nodded in acknowledgment, its blades glinting in the sunlight as it prepared for training.
"First up, X-Scissor," Ethan instructed, demonstrating the swift slashing motion. "Focus on precision and speed."
Scyther mimicked the movement, its blades slicing through the air with increasing agility.
Ethan nodded approvingly, noting Scyther's progress in grasping the technique.
"Next, U-Turn," Ethan continued, demonstrating the maneuver. "It's all about agility and strategy. Master this, and you'll gain the upper hand in battles."
Scyther executed the U-Turn, swiftly pivoting and darting away before circling back to Ethan's side. The coordination and speed impressed Ethan, affirming Scyther's potential.
"Bug Buzz," Ethan instructed next, emphasizing the need for power and resonance. "Let your wings hum with energy."
Scyther flapped its wings vigorously, emitting a low, buzzing sound that reverberated across the training ground. Ethan noted the improvement in Scyther's ability to channel its Bug-type energy.
"Lastly, Fury Cutter," Ethan said, demonstrating the relentless slashing technique. "Build momentum with each strike. Precision and persistence are key."
Scyther launched into a series of rapid slashes, each movement growing sharper and more precise. The repetitive motion showcased Scyther's dedication to mastering the technique.
As the training session progressed, Scyther showed remarkable progress in all the moves Ethan had introduced.
Although mastering them completely would take time, Ethan was confident in Scyther's potential to excel.
"Great job, Scyther," Ethan praised, patting the Pokémon's exoskeleton gently. "Keep practicing, and you'll be unstoppable."
Scyther nodded proudly, its determination shining through.
As the sun began to set, Ethan recalled Eevee, Scyther, and Spearow. They had made excellent strides in training today, and Ethan was confident they would be even stronger tomorrow.
