17. Shinobi Training

Kushina places her hand on top of the scroll and infuses a drop of blood and chakra into the scroll.

The black half of the Tai Chi symbol glows with a moderate hue.

"Oh! So, I have an affinity for Yin Release, Dattebano!"

Kushina removes her hand and Nawaki places his hand on the scroll.

The white half of the Tai Chi symbol glows with a moderate hue.

"And I have the affinity for Yang Release."

Both of them turn to Minato.

"It's your turn now."

"Will it be fine?!" Minato scratches his head.

"There is no problem!" Mito gives her approval.

Minato also follows the others and places his hand on the scroll.

The black and white Tai- Chi symbol glows with a dim hue.

"Looks like you have a weak affinity for both Yin and Yang Release."

"That's so cool!" Nawaki nods at Minato.

"Alright! Enough fooling around. It's almost time for the academy." Tsunade reminds them.

"Yes, Nee-san!"

The group hurriedly prepares themselves for the upcoming classes.

Inside the academy,

Hiruko is taking the arithmetic class. Yuji pretends to focus on the class while absent-mindedly staring out of the window.

'In the future, I have to maintain minimal contact with the people of the Uzumaki clan. Today, I was able to fool them by feigning amnesia, but it won't work every time. That old grandma is bad news.'

The entire part about not recalling anything after he fell unconscious was a lie. He remembered everything, but it wasn't something he could reveal to others.

"So, the third operation in arithmetic is multiplication. With multiplication, we can…" Hiruko continues the lecture.

Ah…

"This problem is slightly difficult." Minato scratches his head as he struggles with the problems.

"If you are having trouble with arithmetic, then I will teach you." Yuji offers.

"Really! Yuji is so good with arithmetic. If you teach us, then I am sure we will learn it fast." Minato nods at Yuji's proposal.

Nawaki yawns and slowly opens his eyes.

"I almost fell asleep. This class is so boring."

Hiruko clears his throat and appears beside the group.

"So, my class is boring." He glares into Nawaki's eyes.

Nawaki gulps his saliva

"No… no sensei! I didn't mean to say that."

"Then what do mean to say?"

"I… I… mean, there are better things to do than arithmetic. Haha…" Nawaki laughs gleefully.

"Hoh! So, sleeping is one of them. Heh…"

Swish… swish…

Hiruko throws chalk across the classroom.

Aw… ouch… Aw!

The chalk hits a fat kid.

"Hey, you! The classroom is not for sleeping." Hiruko glares at them.

"But sensei! Arithmetic is so boring." The fat kid rubs his forehead.

"Hoh! Then what interest you?" An angry tick appears on Hiruko's forehead.

"Hmm… let me think!" The fat kid places his hand under his chin and ponders.

"The crispy potato chip from the grocery store, the fried sticks from the nearby store, and the chewy Dango from the Daikon Sweet store." Drool leaks from the fat kid's mouth.

Pfft… Haha…

Kushina burst out in laughter. The rest of the class follows her example and laughs at the fat kid's response.

"SILENCE!" Hiruko angrily roars at the class.

"Nawaki, Choza! Out!" Hiruko points towards the door.

"Heh… Sensei! This is not fair. Shikaku was also half-asleep."

"What a pain!" A kid with spiky hair tied in a ponytail slowly opens his eyes.

Argh…

Hiruko snaps at their behavior.

"OUT! You three, go stand in the hallway!"

"Eh?!"

"No, eh?!"

Haha…

The rest of the class burst out in laughter again.

"The class is not over yet!"

Hiruko glares at the noisy students.

"Now for your next lesson, it will be about shinobi combat training!"

"I am so excited!" Nawaki stares at the other with a challenging gaze.

"We won't do any physical training today."

Hiruko's words pipe down Nawaki's excitement.

"No!"

The rest of the class ignores him.

"A shinobi performs several tasks and engaging enemies in combat is one of them. While combating enemies, a shinobi uses jutsus to fight against them.

Jutsus are the mystical arts a shinobi uses during battle. To perform a jutsu, a shinobi has to use his chakra in the battle.

Now, jutsus are broadly classified into three categories. They are Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Taijutsu. There are several other subcategories as Fuinjutsu, Kenjutsu, Senjutsu, Juinjutsu, and Bukijutsu.

Also, based on the power and the difficulty of the jutsu, they are classified into different ranks.

"Starting from the top rank, we have S-rank jutsu. They are secret, extreme-level techniques capable of mass destruction. Such jutsu possess enough strategic power to annihilate a village."

"Woah!" The eyes of the students shine brightly.

"Amazing!"

"Hey Sensei! Can you tell us the name of some S-Rank techniques?" One of the students curiously raises his hand.

"There aren't many S-rank techniques since they are unique to their user, but if I have to name a few then, most of Lord First's wood release techniques were S-Rank. Lord Second's personal creation, "The Flying Thunder God Jutsu," which allows a user to teleport from one location to another, is also an S-rank jutsu. Though it doesn't have any destructive capabilities, its strategic value is enough to alleviate it to S-Rank."

Hiruko explains to them.

"Eh! I thought there were cooler S-Rank techniques." The student loses interest.

"No! It's not like that." Hiruko shakes his head.

"The S-Rank techniques are extremely difficult to master and thus only a handful of shinobis in the entire world can use them." He explains the importance of S-Rank techniques to them.

"Next up is A-rank jutsu. These are also powerful tactical class techniques used by Kage or high-skilled jounin during the battle. Most of these techniques are forbidden since they require a specific price to pay. These techniques are rarely used during battle and are meant as a last resort.

After A-rank is the B-rank jutsu, most jounins use these techniques during battle. These techniques require a high level of chakra control and a certain amount of skill to perform them.

After B-rank comes the C-Rank jutsu. C-rank techniques are chunnin-level techniques. They require extensive training to learn and are a measure of a chunnin's skills. Some extraordinary genins might learn these techniques.

After C-Rank is the D-rank jutsu. Most genin when they start their career as a genin have learned a few of these techniques. They play a vital role in the early survival and completion of the mission of a genin's career." Hiruko pauses and glances at the students in his class.

"Sensei, what about the academy students?" One of the civilian students raises his hand.

"Academy students learn basic E-rank jutsu. These are the fundamental jutsus for a shinobi and thus are an essential part of a shinobi's career. Also, one of the conditions to graduate from the academy is to master one E-rank jutsu." Hiruko closes one of his eyes and raises his finger to give an early tip to the students.

"Oh! I am very excited to learn an E-rank jutsu." The students are excited by the lecture.

"I can't wait to learn an E-Rank jutsu and get away from this shitty class." Another student murmurs.

Tch…

An angry tick mark appears on Hiruko's forehead. His nerves tense with anger.

'Damnit! Which brat was it?'

Nawaki silently turns his head away.
