Into The Dungeon

As Kelly cautiously stepped into the dungeon, a distinct aroma of dampness and earth filled the air, assaulting his senses. The scent hung heavy, a mixture of moist soil and musty corridors that seemed to cling to his every breath. It was a stark contrast to the open fields and familiar surroundings he was accustomed to.

The temperature dropped noticeably as he delved further into the dungeon's depths. The once comforting warmth of the sun was replaced by a cool and slightly chilling air, causing a shiver to run down his spine. Goosebumps prickled on his skin as he adjusted to the unfamiliar environment, feeling a slight dampness clinging to the fabric of his clothes.

The dungeon itself was dimly lit, casting eerie shadows that danced and flickered along the walls. Dim torches lined the narrow corridors, their feeble flames offering meager illumination in the vast darkness. The limited light played tricks on his eyes, creating an atmosphere of mystery and foreboding.

With each step, Kelly felt a sense of anticipation mixed with trepidation. The echoing sound of his own footsteps seemed to magnify in the silence, amplifying the weight of the unknown

that lay ahead. He couldn't help but be curious about what secrets and dangers lurked within the labyrinthine passages of the dungeon.

The combination of the musty scent, the cool air, and the dim lighting created an ambiance that stirred both wonder and unease within him. As he continued to move forward, he heard sounds of metal clashing against each other and quickened his pace. As he reached closer to the sound, he also started hearing mixture of sounds when he reached the open corridor he was dumbfounded.

Kelly watched as his classmates, who had previously been frightened and uncertain, like kittens, now fought with the strength and determination of ferocious lions. They had formed a cohesive unit, with tankers protecting the mages and snipers while the close combatants fought bravely at the front lines. Any beasts that managed to slip past the defenders were swiftly taken down by the tankers, reducing them to nothing more than piles of shredded flesh.

As Kelly observed the battle unfolding, he noticed one particular classmate who seemed to be dealing the most damage to the enemy. With each strike, they displayed remarkable skill and precision. The beasts they faced were similar to those encountered the day before, but there was a noticeable increase in their numbers. These creatures appeared to be a peculiar blend of dog and bull, possessing the muscular bodies of bulls with the addition of peculiar horns sprouting from their dog-like faces.

However, in front of his classmates it didn't matter, yesterday was their first time that why they were disoriented, but today how can some level 5 beasts stand up against them whom average level is 10, well except Kelly.

Amidst the chaos, certain individuals stood out prominently. Agawa and his friends spearheaded the largest group, engaging the enemies head-on. Meanwhile, Kei exhibited exemplary leadership, leading the mages from the rear, and inflicting devastating damage upon the foes. even Sumire, stood out like a sore thumb, with her remarkable healing abilities, and played a crucial role in restoring stamina and providing timely support to her allies.

Kelly's gaze then shifted to the left, where Kenji and his group wreaked havoc and created disorder among the enemy ranks. Their disruptive tactics and relentless assault added another layer of chaos to the battlefield. Turning his attention to the right, Kelly noticed Ayato, as always, fighting alone with his own distinct style. Despite his aloof nature, Ayato's individual prowess and skill made him a formidable damage dealer, second only to Agawa and Kenji in their ranks.

Kelly kept on observing, seeing such a magical fight that only happened in fantasy movies. He was dazed his attention was abruptly snapped back to reality as he heard footsteps echoing from a nearby side corridor. His gaze quickly shifted sideways, and to his astonishment, he spotted a group of beasts emerging from the narrow path, preparing to ambush his unsuspecting classmates from behind. In that moment, a surge of excitement coursed through Kelly's veins, his heart racing with adrenaline. Without a second thought, he swiftly unsheathed his knife and bravely called out.

"Come out," Kelly ordered, and in response, a crow suddenly appeared before him, lazily yawning.

"As long as I'm not dying, don't interfere," he commanded, and with his knife in hand, he swiftly advanced forward. Meanwhile, the crow silently took flight, perching itself on the wall like a vigilant bat, watching the unfolding situation with keen interest in its eyes.

As Kelly lunged towards the beasts, his movements were a blur of precision and agility. With each step, he closed the distance with lightning speed, his muscles tense and ready for action. As he approached, the beasts turned their attention towards him, their eyes filled with rage and hunger.

In a split second, Kelly unleashed a flurry of strikes, his knife cutting through the air with deadly accuracy. He targeted the first beast's vulnerable throat, slashing with a swift and decisive motion. Blood spurted from the wound as the creature let out a gurgled cry, collapsing to the ground in a lifeless heap.

Without a moment's hesitation, Kelly swiftly redirected his focus to the second beast. With a well-timed leap, he launched himself towards his target, his blade glinting in the dim light of the dungeon. The beast snarled and lunged at him, but Kelly evaded its attack with a deft sidestep. In a single fluid motion, he brought his knife down, piercing through the beast's heart. A primal roar echoed through the corridor as the second creature fell, defeated.

Silence filled the air as the adrenaline coursed through Kelly's veins. He stood there, his chest rising and falling rapidly, surrounded by the lifeless bodies of his fallen adversaries.

Due to their size and limited agility, the beasts could only engage Kelly individually, providing him with a distinct advantage in combat. One after another, they fell before his relentless onslaught, unable to match his speed, skill, and determination. The hours passed by in a haze of intense slaughter, with Kelly moving from one battle to the next, his movements becoming more fluid and instinctive with each encounter.

After few hours of intense slaughter Kelly noticed, the beast stopped coming putting a damp on his excitement, after taking some deep breaths he looked towards his bloodied hands and didn't feel much of anything. As he kept on looking, he remembered the feeling of increase in strength he got after defeating the first beast. It was similar to yesterday, but he didn't get to think much about it yesterday obviously.
