Chapter 23-Date

Itachi awoke to a beautiful sight. Cuddled up beside him was his beautiful girlfriend with her silky white hair spread out over his bare chest. Her cute face had a bit of drool coming out of it as her face was pressed against his chest. Itachi felt her warm naked body wrapped around him like a bodypillow which honestly felt amazing.

Two soft objects pressed against his arm as she mumbled a bit in her sleep which Itachi found completely adorable. While Itachi stroked her head, she stirred a bit, proceeding wrap around him even tighter. She nuzzled her face into him while Itachi turned to face her enjoying her cute look as she buried her face in his arms. Sighing in contentment Itachi enjoyed this feeling as he pondered over some stray thoughts.

This week had been one of the best in his life, and together they had traveled around doing many normal things for once. While Xue'er still had to practice with the national team, they spent the rest of their time hanging out together.

Itachi would have to leave soon however, because recruitments for the American national team would start soon, and he wanted to compete there since he couldn't compete in China which was very close to the home base of the Holy Court.

He opened his eyes once again to see the light blue eyes gazing at him with a loving expression. "Good morning" she said softly kissing him on the lips. They were currently staying at her apartment in Shanghai and the best thing was waking up to this sight every morning. They laid there for a while unwilling to get out of bed even though it was well past 11. Sighing, Itachi got out of bed missing the warmth as he got dressed while Xue'er begrudingly followed.

Looking at him with a serious look on her beautiful face, Xue'er spoke "While we don't have much time together before you need to go back to America, I am going to get the most out of this" she said taking Itachis hand as they walked out the apartment.

They walked out onto the brightly lit Shanghai street as many people walked past the apartment building carrying out their daily lives as children played in a nearby park. Without mages protecting the borders, humans would live in constant fear of being eaten. As apathetic as he normally was, he couldn't help but smile at this sight while he walked hand in hand with Xue'er enjoying the peace he so rarely had.

He could smell the scent of the many different restaurants in the area as the two of them had a nice breakfast of fried rice at a local place. The owner of the shop was a sweet older lady who discounted the meal saying she was going to help the wallet of the young gentlemen.

After all, it wasn't cheap having a girlfriend which Itachi couldn't help but agree since he had just recently bought a huge amount of resources and quite a few magic tools for Xue'er. She got all the perks of having a rich boyfriend since he sold many of his extra beast souls he collected.

Walking out she grinned at him mischeviously obviously planning something as she summoned out her wind wings "Follow me" she simply said before she flew off greatly stunning the surrounding citizens who realized that innocent looking college age girl was a high tier mage. If they were shocked before, they were even more so when the handsome youth who had been standing beside her immediately took off after her also using high tier wind magic as he quickly caught up to her while he looked at her with a questioning gaze.

"Just wait till we get there" she said smirking at the curious expression he had on his handsome face. Flying over the clouds, they made their way over a large portion of Shanghai before flying down in front of a tall building that seemed to be very busy. Scanning his eyes over the title he couldn't help but mutter aloud "What the fuck" as he saw the words "Shanghai Rock Climbing.

Upon seeing his shocked expression, Xue'er burst out laughing "We Are a couple right? We should go on a proper date and NO, killing monsters is not a date" she said seeing his attempt to protest halfway through. Over the past week they had gone out a bit to hunt some beasts, but Itachi seemed to have no idea what a date was supposed to be which greatly annoyed the white haired girl.

"Normal couples do things like this" she said gazing at her socially inept blond boyfriend. "Going to the beach, the pool, the movies, amusement parks. Those are all things couples should do. Coming back home with monster blood on our clothes isn't exactly the most romantic setup" she said in a confident voice leaving no room for debate.

"Hmm I guess you have a point there" Itachi said tactfully who was still pondering how slaying monsters was not romantic. No matter how fast his brain worked, he didn't think he would ever be able to understand the complex thing which is a women's mind.

They walked through the front doors past all the people as they made their way over to one of the multiple lines to check in.

Looking past them Itachi looked into the high vaulted ceilings of the vast rock climbing room. He had to admit, compared to rock climbing in his past life this could be called an extreme level. Inside was a gigantic room with all the walls covered up with the fake rocks some even past 200 meters.

Similar to ski runs, they were rated for their difficulty ranging from Green to Blue to Black Diamond to Double Black Diamond, and finally the most extreme Triple black diamond. Putting aside how many different runs there were, just the height alone was shocking. Even some of the most famous rock climbing walls in his past life didn't top 20 meters which was already a surprising number.

I guess magic leads to more innovation he thought wryly wondering how difficult it would be to fix it if some parts broke. Of course safety harnesses were required since falling from such a height would be deadly.

The harder the ranking, the taller the wall would be often including more overhangs along with other obstacles such as decreased number of footholds. This place was pretty famous internationally, but with how aloof Itachi was do you think he would have bothered with such a place? He hadn't even heard of it, but it was nice to forget all your worries once and a while and have a good time.

Funnily enough they had a ranking with how far people have reached on some of the most difficult ones. The property was a staggering four acres big with perhaps the most interesting part being the over 200 meters tall fake mountain in the center of the vast room with many different courses including many different terrains such as ridges, overhangs, and other unique things.

Professional Mountain climbers in his past life would literally kill to have such a place to train. Reaching the front, they immediately paid a large amount of money for the most elite pass which would basically let them bypass any line since in reality, it was a small amount of money to them.

Being a mage has its benefits after all. Immediately the assistant who introduced herself as Kelly respectfully led them to a a comfortable looking room overlooking the grand sight with a tinted one way window along with having many comfortable couches.

"My associate will come here shortly to show you around. If you would like any meals or drinks press the call button and we will deliver anything you need" she said respectively before backing out.

Almost immediately after she left a robust looking man walked through the door grinning cheerfully "Hello, I'm Chenglei and I will be your instructor today. I'm sure you don't want to waste anytime, so I will get through it as short as possible"

He immediately proceeded to explain all the rules including wearing a helmet and harness since falling from such a height would pretty much lead to instant death. He chuckled when he heard the blond youth say a pretty funny joke. "Why do I need to wear a harness" he said turning to face his white haired girlfriend "Even if I fell from the very top, I wouldn't even stumble, much less get injured" Man he even sounds dead serious Changlei thought smiling.

The smile on his face was abruptly cut off however when he heard the young girl respond by smacking him over the head "We are going to have a normal date and that means your going to follow the rules and not accidentaly destroy the building" she said threateningly. After a slight concerned pause, Chenglei finally deciding they were both pulling a prank on him.

Chuckling lightly he said "You two should be a comedians" before he soon finished the rest of his speech. He then gave them a lanyard containing their elite pass before he led them to the area. Of the people currently climbing in the large complex, most of them weren't mages as only a few had high enough cultivation to even effect their physique.

Glacing over, he saw a high tier mage showing off as he climbed down from wall down with a small crowd below Immediately surrounding him.

"Mr. Liu Wu you just set the new record for the 160 meter tall Black Diamond 'Free fall'" some girl said excitedly from the crowd. "Just takes a bit of training" he responded smiling charmingly before he suddenly looked up seeing the most beautiful girl he had ever seen walking over towards the black diamond section on the east side of the building near where he was.

He noticed she was a high tier mage and a powerful one at that while he couldn't sense anything in the blond male beside her as they walked towards this side of the building. Looking down the line, this whole section was for very experienced climbers because it was very hard with some almost having 90 degree overhangs.

Walking over with a charming smile he introduced himself with a charming smile as he asked "Would you like me to show you around" surprisingly she seemed to completely ignore his presence as she chatted with a blond youth next to her while a tour guide... wait is that the owners son?

He thought a little shocked staring at the son who was the son of the rich super mage who owned the entire complex. The guide himself was a high tier mage and it was surprising he was guiding these people personally.

Walking past he couldn't help, but hear the blond youths dispassionate speech "do we have to start with such an easy one?" This greatly annoyed Liu Wu as this was a very hard one to do and he had just managed to set the new record. "It's not quite as easy as it looks" he said towards the youth with a mocking look on his face. Who did he think he is? He is not even a mage.

Not even looking at him the blond youth asked the owners son "are you sure I have to use a harness? That's kinda boring" he said shocking those around. 'He wants to free climb?' they thought looking at him.

Sighing a bit the owners son said "fine but you have to sign this waver and we normally wouldn't let you anyway but since you are an elite guest and your so adamant I will make an exception. He happily agreed as he turned to the white haired girl beside him who had opted for the same option.

"Race you to the top" he said mischeviously as she immediately started protesting "Thats no fair, you have to at least give me a thirty second head start she looking at her boyfriend with a pouting look. "Ughgh fine, geez" he said sitting down as he began to count "1, 2, 3...."

Immediately the white haired girl shot up towards the top leaping a couple meters with each foot hold she met shocking those around. How strong was this girl they thought watching as she quickly made her way up with inhuman strength.

She was almost 100 meters up as they turned to face the youth who was still calmy counting despite his girlfriend shooting up the wall "27, 28, 29, 30 here I come" he said shouting. Immediately he leapt off the ground instantly clearing ten meters as the floor vibrated a bit.

Taking extra care not to destroy the wall, Itachi quickly went from rock to rock as he climbed up the wall approaching the back of his girlfriend. The sharp overhangs were easily passed by him while he leaped up a few meters at a time quickly approaching the back of Xue'er still going strong as she powered up the wall.

Liu Wu didn't know what to think. First this high tier mage girl had shocked him with her amazing strength that was much more than his, and now this 20 ish something youth seemed to clear 5 meters everytime he even touched the wall even though he couldn't sense any cultivation.

Some of the more knowledgeable among the crowd immediately wondered if he was a super mage since the only knowledge they had of a human being that powerful was at higher stages of cultivation.

Even Liu Wu who was a high tier earth mage was only a couple times stronger than the average human. Since only one element had reached high tier. Xue'er was much stronger than him since she had higher cultivation in her elements while Itachi was light years away. Not to mention the passive buffs on his human body from extended use of both demon form and dragon form, just the power gained from his many elements was enough to shock the world.

Itachi looked down at the group below. 'I wonder how they would react if they knew I wasn't even using a 100th of my strength' he thought laughing a bit inside.

His physique in human form comparable to a monarch was not a joke and he could easily leap to the top of a skyscraper, let alone this little rock climbing course but then again, he had to admit this was quite fun. He quickly caught up with Xue'er who was only around 20 meters from the top. "Show-off" she muttered gazing at him while Itachi chuckled seeing her cute expression.

He stayed with her so they both reached the top at the same time hitting the small buzzer instantly setting a record that would probably never be broken unless Itachi decided to pay another visit. 'Maybe I could try to get my time to under a second' he thought imagining how the staff would react if he skipped the wall completely jumping straight to the buzzer.

Reaching the top he turned to face Xue'er with an amused expression on his face "You heard the guy, I wouldn't want you to fall" he said moving over. "Wait what are you doin-" she tried to say yelping cutely as Itachi picked her up in his arms leaping off the wall much to the shock of the onlookers.

As thoughts of future lawsuits ahead ran through the minds of the staff, they were quickly shocked with a large pair of beautiful wind wings that were highly condensed appeared behind the blond youths back as he gracefully swooped down to the ground.

Snickering softly, he let her down as she puched his shoulder looking at him with an angry look on her face "Warn me next time you do that" she said angrily as Itachi's next words made her face flush red. "You know you liked it" he said naughtily while the red faced girl looked away "Not in public" she hissed angrily as a few hot blooded young males among the small group looked at Itachi with worshipful gazes seeing this exchange.

Itachi grabbed her hand as they spent the rest of the day messing around at the fancy rock climbing complex. They quickly had their own group behind them that wanted to see the mages with super human strength.

While most civilians didn't know too much intricate things about magic, most of them still recognized Itachi's wind wings as high tier magic they at least knew that much.

They tried many other hard courses often going quite slow since they were just enjoying the moment. Soon, he finished up the day, and he walked out of the place hand in hand in silent contentment.

Walking over to a nearby park, they sat together on a bench. Xue'er leaned her head on his shoulder with a faraway expression as she gazed out into the distance. Turning to face him, Xue'er looked at him with a sad expression "Are you sure you have to go?" she said with a longing expression despite already knowing the answer, she couldn't help but ask that selfish question.

He sighed "I would love to be with you, but that would only hinder us both. I will visit you frequently and I can't wait to meet you at the International competitions in Venice." he said with a sad expression as he pulled her head close breathing in the fresh scent of vanilla which must be the scent of her shampoo.

The sky begin to darken as they once again flew towards her apartment, soon landing on her balcony. Turning towards him with a sweet smile she looked at him a bit wistfully "It's going to be a lot harder to fall asleep without by favorite body pillow" she said jokingly with a hint of sadness as she tried and failed to lighten the sad mood between them.

He reached forward wrapping her in a warm hug "I will call you everyday" he said gazing at her imprinting the feeling of her body into his mind so he would never forget it. Leaning down he softly kissed her lips one last time before he flew into the approaching night as the Sun set behind him.

Gazing into the night, Xue'er stood there watching until the dark figure flapping its wings was swallowed by the darkness wondering when they would be able to see each other again.
