Chapter 19 - Sudden Change

Mingmei screamed, "Mom! Li Hua is gone!"

"What?!"

The entire family rushed into the small closet to look for themselves.

Fang spotted a brown envelope in the corner with a sticky note on top.

"There's an envelope here."

"Give me that."

Mr. Zhang grabbed them and everyone filed out to the dining room. All the papers spilled out. The first set of documents were copies of the adoption papers. The second pages were the registrar's office confirming the deletion of Li Hua's name from the family register. There was a small envelope with cash in it. Lastly, there was a neatly written letter addressed to the entire family.

Mr. Zhang flew into a rage as soon as he saw the registrar's office letter.

"Fang, go to my desk in the study and bring all the unopened mail."

The mail was searched and Mr. Zhang found the mail from the city registrar's office. It confirmed everything which made him throw a glass of water in a fit of rage!
