Sitting quietly on the front door which was very unlikely as she's always indoors most times.
Looking straight at the blue skies as the clouds makes some funny impressions of a dragon with large eyes, she chuckle a bit as her thoughts becomes more worrisome.
The fear of not getting admitted into college often kills her cause that's basically what she really wanted at the moment.
"Never thought you could ever be in such a weird place like right now" Mrs Gina said abruptly as she stands by the door close to where Lisa sat.
"Oh mum! You're here.....for how long have you been standing there?" She asked curtly.
"Long enough to figure out something's up with my princess...now don't you dare lie to me. What's wrong?" Mrs Gina asked just as she sits close to Lisa with all attention to listen.
She remained quiet for a while but couldn't avoid the conversation which might just be a little bit of a mother- daughter talk.
"Mum....I'm just having mixed emotions about college...hmm" She sighs heavily.
"Ain't you happy about your choice of college or you're just scared of the fact that you haven't received any feedback regarding your admission?" She asked.
Mrs Cindy greets them as she empties her trash can just outside her house while waiting for the bus to take her daughters to school.
"Now back to my question" She prompted.
"I haven't gotten any news from them but dad assured me that he'll put some calls across to make sure it pulls through but..."
Mrs Gina cuts in,
"But nothing my princess....relax okay" She responds as her phone rings.
"Oh it's Dr. Jersey....I hope there's no emergency?" Mrs Gina said nervously as she picks the call.
"Good day ma'am"
"Good morning Mrs Gina...I need you to report to the hospital now, please there's an emergency and we need your help" Dr. Jersey pleaded.
Mrs Gina wasn't just a nurse but also a surgeon especially in such emergency cases.
Her expertise was highly recognized as she's one of the best staffs in the hospital.
She never hesitates to respond to such calls especially when a patient's life was at stake.
She immediately responds to Dr. Jersey's call and gets up from where she sat in a rush.
"Duty calls darling" She said
"I thought today was your free day" Lisa protested as she changes her countenance.
"I know darling but it's urgent....I'll be back before you know it" She said hurriedly as she runs upstairs to change.
Lisa had always complained about her parents jobs but she's way older now to understand that it's okay at least as a semi- adult.
"Kisses hunny.....left some food for you I the kitchen in case you get famished" she said with a kiss to Lisa's cheeks.
"Bye mum!" Lisa said with a grin as she drove out.
"Hmm...I guess I'm home alone.....again" She lamented.
She decides to visit Frederick which was just few minutes walk from her house since they both lived in the same estate.
Lisa got to her room and noticed her laptop was still switched on after reading some poems online which she finds weird sometimes but anything to free her mind and also widen her literary horizon is not such a bad idea.
She checks her mail for any updates about her admission but still saw that same mail which urged her to wait patiently.
"Dear Lisa Wellington
Your admission is pending please be patient, we'll get back to you soon.
......signed by the school's management.
.......
The same feedback she gets every time.
But the thought of attending the same college with Frederick always seemed to make her smile from the inside.
They both had agreed on the choice of college even before their graduation from High school.
Fredrick made distinction in almost all his examinations though he wasn't really the study type but Lisa encouraged him and they were both exceptional.
Unlike other high school relationships which centered mainly on material pleasure, theirs was special cause they had known each other for years.
Lisa heard her dad's voice from downstairs as he forgot some documents while rushing to the firm earlier.
"My princess did you by any chance see any documents?" He asked profusely.
"Oh! Yes I saw them on the dining table but mum said you might not need them so she kept them in the room" She replies confidently.
"Oh thank goodness...I forgot them this morning after having breakfast" He said in relief.
He immediately goes upstairs and gets them from the drawer beside the bed.
Lisa sits down to watch a movie as her dad rushes downstairs and gives her a goodbye kiss.
"Love you princess" He said with his briefcase on his left hand which contained the documents.
"Oh! I spoke with the school's management today and guess what?"
"Okayyyy! I can't guess dad" She replies clumsily.
"Silly girl.....they said you're going to get a call soon okay!" He said curtly with confidence.
Lisa's mood never changes cause what he said didn't make much difference.
"Alright dad!....I'll be patient again" She responds sadly.
"My princess don't stress yourself cause everything is settled already".
Just as he stepped out of the door.
Lisa picks up her phone which had obviously been ringing but was on silent cause she didn't want any distractions while working on her laptop.
"Who might this be?" She asked herself as it read five missed calls but just as she tried to place it off from the silent mode, the call came in again.
She quickly picks the call and got the biggest news at that moment.
Lisa got accepted into her preferred college. She couldn't hold her excitement as her heart was filled with so much joy.
"Finally!!!!" She screamed in excitement and danced for a while.
Frederick also got admitted on the exact same day as it seemed fate were on their side.
