Prologue
100 years before the world turned upside down. Before the beings of the underworld gained a passage to the world above. The Umbra royal family of the Fey kingdom in pursuit of defeating their enemy brought upon their own doom.
They summoned a demon from the underworld. A world filled with all the horrors of humanity. Where the beings of that plane live true to their desires. They exert no restraints, a place where the act of sin is joy.
And what they summoned was the most feared demon in the underworld. His army was triple in size to the strongest demon army before him.

" The mighty demon from the world of darkness. We call upon you with 100,000 souls as an offering, accept our sacrifice and descend to this mortal realm."
As the zealous chants ensued, there was a tear in the fabric of space. A black portal emerged and from it came the conscience of the demon.
With the descend of the conscience came down the pressure of the demon in which the people froze in fear.
" Oh, mighty Lord, thank you for answering our calls."
As the man who seemed to be the leader in the group kneeled in front of the demon and praised him, the others followed suit to kneel in front of the conscience.
For a while there was silence as the conscience did not reply. But the pressure kept rising on the people on the ground.
The man with a long black beard who seemed to be the leader among them started to panic and started to cold sweat.
Nobody could guess the thoughts of the conscience of the being they summoned. As the tension around the place started to increase and just before the people around were about to collapse, the being said.
"State your wish."

The people there started to calm down after the demon agreed to hear them. Even though they showed zeal towards the demon, they were panicking inside as this was the first time they had summoned a demon. And according to the book the ancestor found the known events of demon summoning were quite rare in history. So they knew the risks of summoning demons, but their greed blinded them.
They mentioned to him of the neighboring kingdom that they wanted to deal with. They accused the kingdom of being the heretics that questioned their faith. As the umbra royalties thought that the demon would be against the gods, they condemned them to be devotes of god.
As they were trying to incite the demon's anger towards their enemy they didn't know what was going in the mind of the demon. If they did, they would have been scared to death.
The demon, Rayu was in fact incensed inside. He was infuriated at the sight of these humans having sacrificed their own kind for their greed.
As not many knew, the most feared demon was actually a human who reincarnated into the underworld as a demon.
Throughout his endless conquest and slaughter in the underworld, he tried protecting some parts of his humanity of his past self. He mostly blamed him being the way he is, to have been born as a demon. He tried holding his humanity by having faith in humans.
But the first time he saw humans after so many years. He witnessed the carnage they had ensued to summon him. The souls of the deceased were absorbed into him as the sacrifice for summoning him. So he witnessed the life and the treatment of the Umbra household to their people.
As he watched the tyranny of this people he realized they were no better than those demons in the underworld. In fact, he found these humans worse than the demons.
If he could, he would slaughter them at the moment, but he felt the restrictiveness from taking any kind of action. He instinctively felt that to come to this plane with his body he needed to form a convent with the people who summoned him.
Unknown to the thoughts of the demon the people were excited that they have incited Rayu's anger towards their enemy.
The person who was the leader of the people there was Barak Umbra, an elder of the Umbra royalty. He had been studying the book he obtained from the Treasury where the ancestor of the family, had stored many of his collection of valued items he had throughout his life.
And this book was hidden deeply as the most valued treasure of the ancestor. The book was written in language he had never seen. With years of research and experiments, he finally made sense of the method to summon a demon.
The book was very mysterious and what he didn't know was the ancestor who was in close door cultivation for many years had actually intended to hide this book from the world because he saw how dangerous the knowledge in the book was.
Ignorant of these facts, Barak continued to flatter the demon.
As Rayu had enough of these people and had formed the plan for his descend said.
"I have heard enough."
As he spoke, Barak and the others stopped and shut their mouths.
After observing the silence for a moment, Rayu continued.
"You should know of the convent."
Hearing the questioning tone of Rayu, Barak replied immediately as he felt he was being tested.
"Yes Lord, I know that you can't descend to the mortal realm just with the sacrifice. But we also have to form a convent for you to grace us."

The people of the Umbra royalty were cheering inside as they thought their plans worked.
Barak and Rayu proceeded to complete the convent.
Barak was roaring inside as the convent was at its last step. This was because he had confirmed the way of summoning the demons. The reason with which he had convinced the others of the family was all a ruse for him. He knew that the people with real strength are the once who rule the world. Now that he knew the way to summon the demons, he was imagining all that the future behold for him.
His true goal with the summons of demons was to acquire strength from them. He knew that the strength always came at a cost, but he was ready to sacrifice anything. He was ready to forgo even his humanity for power. And as for the lives he had to sacrifice, he didn't even have a thought about that.
As he was in the fantasy of the future he imagined for himself. He and the other from the Umbra royalty had grossly misunderstood the part of the convent that stated Rayu's conditions to descend on the plane.
Rayu had masterfully stated the condition as ' for his judgment on the humans of his displeasure'.

The Umbra royalty witnessed as a black portal tore space.
From the portal walked out a demon with four arms. He had majestic bright red long horns, and skin as white as snow, with all blue eyes and an angular face with two small horns like red protrusion at the end of his chin.
As the people saw the demon who stood 8 feet tall, they were mesmerized. They couldn't imagine someone could look so good. He had a body that felt had been carved out of marble.
As Rayu walked out of the portal and felt the atmosphere around him. He felt a certain pressure that the world itself was placing on him. But to him, this was nothing as he had descended with the power of the convent that followed the rules of the world, so the world energy which was the only thing that was restrictive to him. As the being of the underworld the energy he was used to was more explosive than what he was feeling here.
As the people and Rayu were in their thoughts, in the ancestral grounds of the Umbra family the ancestor that had been in close door cultivation was suddenly broken off his trance.
"Oh lord... what have you done!"
The ancestor was Livid, he could feel the presence of the being that had descended on the plane. He rose up and rushed towards the place he felt the pressure from.

When the ancestor came all he saw was a demon ensuing carnage at the Umbra royalty. He witnessed the demon torturing his descendants. The ancestor was horrified and angry and jumped in to fight the demon.
Rayu had highly underestimated the ritual by which he was summoned. Even though he was able to trick them in the process of forming the convent, he was still restricted by the bindings of the ritual.
The longer he fought the people who summoned him, the more pressure he had to bear.

The ancestor battled Rayu fiercely. As one of the strongest in the world he fought Rayu with all he got.
As the pressure of the bindings on Rayu increased the ancestor was barely able to seal him in the mysterious book.

After the incident, only a few of the once mighty Umbra royalty survived.
As the enemy superpowers with which they once could go toe to toe if they got to know the current situation of the Umbra household, they could and would crush them. So the ancestor with the last few years he had, relocated the royalty to a far away place.
