Scarlet couldn't believe she had let Alana convince her to leave her to work to go to Ian. She planned to let him leave after getting his carriage, but that would not happen. Not when Ian wanted to be by her side and Alana wanted to make it happen. 

She knew well that Ian wasn't here for the carriage. Ian had made it clear that the carriage was his way of coming to her and Scarlet wouldn't be surprised if he were to leave the carriage here again.

"Oh my! He is handsome," Scarlet heard from Alana. 

Scarlet agreed that Ian certainly was handsome. Anyone who said otherwise was either jealous or trying to be petty. Scarlet had noticed at the ball and then at the garden party how easily Ian could attract the attention of women around him.
