Demon Unleashed

"What do you say? Mind helping me out, kid? You know, this seal is about to be broken soon either way. If you do happen to help me now, I might give you a reward once I'm free." The demon was devilishly smiling, looking up at Velios. "What will it be, kid? I can give you riches far beyond your wildest dreams, I can give you women, I can give you power. If you'll just let me out right now, if you're powerful enough that is, I'll allow you to serve under me." Velios was just weirdly looking at the book. Velios hadn't even got the chance to negotiate for what he actually wanted, and the demon was even bold enough to demand Velios to help him for limited rewards that he didn't want. "It's quite fine actually. I don't feel like releasing you anymore. If your seal breaks, I'll just find a way to seal you back or kill you." The demon was immediately angered by Velios' confidence and boredom he showed while talking to him. "Damn you... Fine, what is it that you want? Only if you release me, though."

"I was going to unseal you to fight you, but I don't know anymore. It's like, what if you bring unnecessary harm to my toys... I mean, the superior dragons. I can always fight you later." Velios seemed much more bored than he usually was. He would normally fight the demon directly, but he just wasn't feeling it at the moment. It's not like the demon would go anywhere, and he got discouraged by the bad rewards he would get if he did unseal him. It was more like punishment. "Hey, I can give you a huge amount of money and pow- Where are you going?!" Velios had put the book on the ground before slowly making his way out. "H-Hey! If you want to, I can fight you however much you want, okay? If you release me now, I will show you some dark magic. It's exclusive knowledge to demons only. Or if you want something else-" The demon wasn't sure what would get Velios to stay, but he had accidentally hit the jackpot.

Velios immediately stopped after hearing what he wanted to hear. He turned back around and rushed to the book to pick it up. "Will you really fight me however much I like? And you will even show me dark magic?" Velios sounded awfully enthusiastic to get the chance to fight a demon. "Yeah yeah, just release me already, will you?!" The demon didn't expect Velios to be able to unlock the seal in the first place. Shiva was sensing a fair amount of magic but not even close to the amount needed to break the seal. This seal sure does look strong. I guess demons aren't good at breaking through seals? If you concentrate enough mana into one spot, most of it will break if not all. It's the same with normal barriers. This seal is only made up of three different parts, so it shouldn't be anything hard to break.

The demon watched as Velios began to push more and more mana out of his body. This dragon child isn't half bad after all! By the looks of it, he is a pretty suitable vessel. If he actually manages to break my seal, then I might be able to find a proper body already. The demon suddenly watched as Velios, who had stopped, continued bringing out more mana outside of his body, creating a huge aura surrounding himself. "I-It doesn't make sense that you have any mana left, how are you still able to unleash more?!" Velios paused for just a small moment to reply. "This? Oh, don't worry, this is nothing. I have a bunch more mana lying dormant so you don't need to worry, we'll get our fight." The demon was both shocked and surprised after feeling a sudden burst in energy surge through his body. The weight that had been tying him down was no more. He could freely move his body as he finally had exited the book and now had a truly physical form once more.

"You said you wanted to see some dark magic, right?" The demon wasted absolutely no time after getting his physical body and freedom back. "Hellfire." With a single flick of his wrist, a beam of black fire descended from above Velios, engulfing him whole. "Feel a little bad for the kid, but I guess it was still his fault for helping a demon." The demon was just about to walk back but had suddenly stopped after hearing Velios' voice. "Where are you going?" As the black flames had dispersed, it was made clear to the demon that the kid in front of him was no joke. Velios stood there without a single scratch on his body. "H-How... No, that was just a fluke. Right, you're just a kid, no way you'd survive my attack." The demon was confused and flustered by the fact that nothing had happened. "Oh, didn't you see? I just put up a barrier." Velios was confused because the demon was confused. The silence that followed was awkward for both of them. "Can you teach me that attack you just did?" Velios asked kindly.

"Here's a little lesson for ya', kid. A demon can't die from physical or normal magic attacks. They can only be killed by a user of holy magic." The demon expected Velios to yield to him, to give up knowing that he had no way to defeat him. The reaction he got was rather unexpected, to say the least. "Really?! Oh, how lucky I am today. Does that mean that you can't die even if someone used powerful enough magic to destroy a whole city?" The demon looked at Velios as if he was the weird one out of the two of them. "I-I won't die, but we will still feel it of course." The demon didn't see anything good coming out of the situation he was in. From the smile that Velios had smeared across his face, he could tell that Velios wasn't normal. Now that he was outside the cursed book, he could actually see just how much mana Velios had. He could tell that fighting Velios was not the best idea. "Screw this!"

The demon cast what looked almost identical to the previous spell but much more powerful. It was also violently spinning. Velios reckoned that it was spinning powerfully enough to cut away someone's arm completely. The demon was trying to run away from Velios. Shiva had made his way to just before the staircase but suddenly stopped. "This is... a magic barrier? Wait... How many barriers has he put up?!" Shiva stood in front of at least three magic barriers big enough to encase the whole library. He wasn't even sure if there were any more, and every single one of them was equally as strong or stronger than the barrier he used to block Shiva's first attack. The demon had no choice but to fight back. He turned around to see where his enemy was, to find him standing right next to the black flame tornado. The demon was shocked that Velios was studying and admiring it, moving his arm ever so close.

The demon had almost tried to stop him but later realized what was actually happening. Velios had fully stretched out his arm, and the moment the black flames touched it, his skin got burnt before the rest of his arm was sliced off. Velios was just casually observing the black flames that didn't stop burning that were stuck to his shoulder. Velios turned around with a big smile on his face as his completely destroyed arm grew back. The demon began to shiver in fear as Velios turned around to face him. "Let's have you show me some defensive type magic this time!" Velios immediately began to go on the offensive, but none of the ordinary attacks worked on Shiva. Shiva had suddenly gone on the offensive. His attacks were fast and precise, and his mana wasn't lacking in the slightest. Velios had no choice as he didn't want to drag out the fight. "Mana dome: Boundless Uncertainty."

Dense mana filled the whole library. Not a single inch inside the first barrier wasn't covered in his mana. Shiva stopped to try and take in what had just happened. How much mana did he have? Why did he expand his mana around them completely, and what was he going to do with it? Shiva would soon get the answer, as Velios was quietly talking to himself, quietly enough so that even he couldn't hear it. In the next few seconds that followed, Velios created hundreds of small balls of blue fire that would explode on contact. Thanks to the massive field of mana, Velios wouldn't lose the excessive mana used after every attack, but they would instead be recycled with only a loss of a number so small he could effectively launch the same spell thousands of spells for almost free. Shiva couldn't do anything. He was constantly in pain and couldn't even move freely. Even as he began to beg for forgiveness, Velios did only continue.
