Paris raised his wrist and glanced at his gold watch. He folded the newspaper and stood. He needed to observe her more.

“Before you do, I’m changing the terms of our deal.”

Maria lifted her surprised face, a hint of worry in her emerald gaze.

The prince turned.

Immediately, the emotions vanished from her face.

Flashing a bright smile at the blank expression, the seasoned charmer shoved both hands into his pockets and instructed, “Starting tomorrow, you will report to my chambers every morning.”
