Meeting

Not long later, Orgarkov received news from his subordinates that a group of the army was approaching from the south of Marijampole, a small town in the south of Kaunas.

The border guards immediately get into their cover and report the news to their commander when they see this army at a far distance.

But when the captain raises his binoculars and sees more clearly about this army, he realizes this army is the same as them, they are also the Red Army.

The Red Flag that waving above the tank, the red stars print on the vehicles, and the army flag, proving that they are from the northern group.

"It is our comrade, they are from the Northern Group!"

As the captain says his findings, all the border guards face with shock and then smile.

"The Northern Group, I thought we lost them."

"Wait, how about the Western Group, my brother serves there."

Discussions were then begun between soldiers.

As the Northern Group comes closer and closer, an officer jumps down from a vehicle, gratefully looking at the Red Flags that stand on the border guard post, tears in his eyes.

"Oh my motherland, I thought I was not going to see you anymore."

However, he did not forget his duty.

He walked close to the border guard post and had a salutation with the captain, identifying himself and his troops.

The captain this time has also received the order from his commander, to ask one of his soldiers to lead them to the designated rest zone.

The Northern Troop Convoy is longer than the Captain thinks, which has a few tens of kilometers.

Soon, a Colonel General came out of the vehicle and asked him some questions.

"Comrade Captain, good to see you here. I am Colonel General Yuri Zarudin, the commander of the Northern Group, could you bring me to your Commander, I would like to see him as fast as possible."

The Captain has received orders to find the Commander of the Northern Group as Marshal Orgarkov wants to see him, so he has been waiting for him.

"Sure, Comrade General. I have received the order to find you as Marshal Orgarkov wants to see you, he is the commander of the Baltic Front now."

Baltic Front? Marshal Orgarkov?

Seems like things are as bad as what he thought.

Zarudin asks the Captain about his confusion, and the captain also answers him with the worst answer he has to think about.

But a Captain will not be able to tell him a much more detailed answer, so he can only know when he meets Orgarkov.

He then sits back in his vehicle, waiting for the helicopters to come and pick him up in Vilnius.

A few ten minutes later, a Mi-8 helicopter arrived and sent him to Vilnius.

When he just comes down from the helicopter, he sees a man already waiting for him.

"Comrade Zarudin, I thought the motherland had lost you."

"Same to me, Comrade Marshal Orgarkov. I thought I would never have the chance to come back to the motherland."

Both of them greet each other with a hug, to celebrate this reunion.

"Comrade Marshal, I have a lot of questions to ask you."

"Same to me Comrade Zarudin, would you like to talk in the car."

"Sure."

Then, they sat in a car and went back to the Baltic Front command post.

Inside the car, Zarudin asked about what had happened in this one week when they had lost contact.

Orgarkov explains briefly to him.

"Now, Comrade Zarudin, I have answered your question, so may you answer my question now?"

"Sure."

"May I know what has happened to the Northern group, and also the others?"

Zarudin knows that Orgarkov will ask him this question, so he has already prepared what to say inside his mind.

"Of course, it is a long story, everything began in the night ..."

Even when the car has arrived outside of the commander's post, Zarudin has still not finished.

Orgarkov stops him and invites him to the meeting room for the rest of the story.

Both of them stay inside there until the day has turned dark.

"Well, Zarudin, as you said, this is a long story."

Now Orgarkov has a brief understanding of what has happened to them.

In summary, these four groups experienced similar things like the motherland, first surrounded by the mystery aurora, and then realizing they were transferred to this world.

On the first day, they are not able to contact any troops through video, so they can only use vehicles to first regroup the Northern Group troops that are separately stationed in Poland.

In the process, many different kinds of weird things attack them, like zombies, and skeletons.

However, this is not something that can fight against modern weapons, they eliminate anything that stops in front of them easily.

On the second day, they can contact the other three groups, except for any troops inside the Soviet Union. They also send soldiers to the east, as Kaliningrad is close to them, but it is no longer where it originally was.

So the four groups after discussion, decided to regroup first, asking the Northern group to station on the spot. When they came, they also took down a few cities and unexpectedly found that there was oil inside the city, and it was completely suitable to use with tanks and planes.

They try to ask people in the city about the oil, but no one dares to come out and answer their questions. Even one of the commanders asks his soldiers to bring out one guy from his house and force him to answer, but the guy just suddenly dies.

The commander realizes this might be the magic of this world. This find also makes them able to continue the Northern group. The only thing they lose is the ammunition.

It took two for part of the four groups to regroup, and then another day for the nearest troop to come back to the motherland. The Western Group will need another week to reach the Motherland.

"So all of you did not lose any equipment, even a fixed-wing aircraft?"

"Yes my marshal, the original airbase in Poland did not disappear, making us able to let the group's plane land, just a bit crowded."

"Thanks for all the information you provided Comrade Zarudin, your intel is important for the motherland to fight back against all these orcs or undead."

"It is my honor, Comrade Marshal."

The news of the four-group army has return to the motherland has also been sent to Brezhnev in Moscow.

Now, in his office.

Andropov and Ustinov are standing in front of Brezhnev, waiting for his response.

"So both of you, what are your suggestions for where these four groups of army should go?"

Both of them seemed like already been discussed before they came in to see Brezhnev.

"Comrade General Secretary, both of us unanimously agreed that these four groups should be deployed to the Baltic front.", Ustinov said.

"Oh, how about the Leningrad Front, you guys have another plan for it?"

"Yes Comrade General Secretary, even the border landscape in the north of Leningrad Military District has changed, but the weather did not. We believe that the current troops will be able to hold Leningrad, as we do not think there will be any enemy going to attack us from there.

Even if there is, we can just simply use our tactical nuclear weapon to destroy them. The war has already proven that even these orcs or undead can not carry a nuke and not die. Of course, we will also increase the troops in Murmansk."

Brezhnev thought of their suggestion and then agreed.

"Alright, since you have the plan on them, then do it, remember to evacuate the civilians living there. Since our enemies are undead, perhaps they may able to know our intel through civilian souls, who knows?"

Although the Red Army has won the battle in Leningrad and the Baltic States, Brezhnev still worries about the magic that has been used.

Magic can transfer a whole country to an unknown world, who knows one day they can again transfer Moscow to their territory. By that time, Brezhnev does not think that they can hold and win the battle.

As the reports said, the dragon knights flew into the Winter Palace to search for something, which means they wrongly thought it is the capital of the Soviet Union and wanted to get the Emperor of the country directly.

"Also, when can our counteroffensive can begin?"

Ustinov doesn't dare to give an absolute answer to him.

"Comrade General Secretary, as we lack intel about our enemy, we will need extra time to prepare, which may need at least three months. However, if we can get more about them, then we can launch the counteroffensive operation in one month."

Brezhnev does not like this answer, as he will need to spend these few months in fear.

"Andropov, remember to find some normal countries in this world and build up diplomatic relationships with Andrei Gromyko. We will need to get some allies to survive here."

"Affirmative, Comrade General Secretary."
