Chapter Sixteen: Calling of Decay

Samuel,

1998/ Manhattan, New York/ 09:00 AM,

Yesterday, I fought with a bastard, who bashed a baseball bat across my face. After which I did the same with his face, but when I did it, suddenly I was in the wrong. An aspirin and an argument with my parents later, I was on my bed getting numb. The next day I woke up to the sound of car alarms, head still shaking.

I sat up and looked straight at a woman sitting on my desk chair with her legs folded and her hands on her knees. Tilting her head to the side, bringing her long curled black hair to one side of her face and smiling at me.

Slumping out of my bed, I stumbled over to my window, instantly taking in the smell of cars in the blaze. Looking outside, I saw the street filled with people just roaming. Slowly moaning and mumbling to themself, everything else was in disarray.

Completely ignoring the two cars, that had smashed into each other and were on fire, while one had crashed into the house on the side. For while I stood there, taking in a scene of a parade or a root. "Well, Fuck me", I said to myself rubbing my face, "What the fuck is going on, man?.

"How long are you gonna stare for, Samuel", said a voice from behind. I turned around and my eyes focused on what I thought I had imagined. A lady wearing a moss green coat and an office dress. Looking drop-dead gorgeous, certainly a delight to look at.

"Ah, who are you?", I asked. "Such claim is surprising. I thought a child like you would be more terrified to find a stranger in his room", she replied with a confident posture. "Lady, behind me are what might be, probably zombies. Then there is you, of course, I will prefer you over them any day of the week", I said back matching her smile.

"Very flattering. I should tell you that I am here for business, with you Samuel, by Saint Edward", She said. "Sorry, that doesn't ring any bells", I replied. "Those out there are demons, possessing every single human in Manhattan by the command of a Prince of Hell", She explained with a casual tone.

"Hmm... Demons? So like those from hell?", I asked and she nodded. "And why am I not possessed?", I asked. "On the contrary, they are trying to find you, Samuel. So far they haven't been able to", She explained and for a moment I felt the headache returning. "Okay, I already have a headache I don't need another weird one. I haven't even had breakfast, I don't need this in the morning", I said back.

...

My mom and dad weren't home, nor was my big sister. And if the lady up stair was right, I would not have to see their faces ever again.

I grabbed a bowl and pour in my cornflakes and milk, alongside orange juice in a glass. I placed it on the table and pulled back the chair to sit on it. Picked up the spoonful of cornflakes and brought it up to my mouth, only to find her across the table from me. Her arms folded on the table and she smiled back at me.

Putting the spoon in, the sweetness of milk and crunch of flakes calmed my nerves down. After a few more spoons I moved up to look at her and she was still there. Sitting quietly and staring at me. "How the hell did you get down here? I didn't even hear your footsteps", I asked. "Well...walking is a bit much for me, I prefer to be where I want to be at any time", I explained.

"Well, fuck me", I said stretching the itch on top of my forehead and then grabbing the glass of orange juice. "Who are you? And why are you?", I asked as I sipped the sweet and tangy drink.

"Me? well I am something old as time. Representing a concept that every child of man desire and yet is too terrified to approach, to lay their hands on me. Something that is expected for everything in creation. I am everywhere and can be there at any time. And there is no... stopping me. But you could call me Raymond, Miss Raymond", She explained, eyeing me menacingly while the ominous choir of the dread played behind her.

I placed my glass back on the table. "Okay And I am Samuel Jackson, now what do you want?" I asked. "Well, glad you came to that realization. Yes, there is something you and only can do. We want you to get rid of the prince of hell and all those that try to stop you. plain and simple as shining sun in the sky" She explained.

"Why the hell are you making it sound like a walk in the park?", I said back with irritation raising in my voice. "That's an around about of a way to asking "How", but if it's you, Samuel. A Prince of Hell is nothing more than a candle ready to be snuffed out, but right as you are now, weak and clueless".

"Good", I said suddenly standing up and picking my bowl with me "Glad we agree upon something, so about how you take care of it and I will go back to sleep".

"And... So we understand that you require some additional support" she continued before I could get away. "For that, I brought you a gift and left it on your desk. I didn't understand what was capable of, but the Saint assured me that once you see it, you will understand who to use it". As soon as she finished talking, the next I knew, she was gone before even I could realize it.

I grabbed my head again, as it stung slightly and I turned around, walking upstairs. I quickly stuffed my mouth with what little cereal was left. Walking inside my, I saw it as it was mentioned. The navy blue suitcase is on my desk. I looked at it for a few seconds before moving towards it. Putting the bowl aside and opening it.

Looking at the content, I had to stop and think for a moment. A long buttonless coat, black from the top and electric blue from the bottom, and gloves with two metal braces attached to them. This is kinda like the getup of a Comic book superhero, Static Shock, and for only this moment my eyes lit up as I pulled out the coat.

Pulling my arm in, a feeling of numbness traveled from my arm to my back. Then I pulled on the glove and they fitted me perfectly. Clipping the metal braces close around my wrist caused a surge of pain to flow down my muscles, the panic set in as my muscles tensed up. My whole upper body cramped up, make come down to my knees and with my jaw clenching shut.

Electricity shot out from the gloves towards the sockets, light bulb, and air conditioner in my room and attached itself to them like a tether, drawing out electricity. While the metal braces started heating up and turning cobalt blue. I felt my body heating up and my heart starting to beat a hundred times faster.

The ground underneath started burning away with electricity engulfing me. I wasn't sure, but certain that I was going to explode. Everything kept building up and then instantly my body relaxed in a moment and then everything paused.

Something appeared in front of me and held my hands. I stared back at the shape of man, its form was static, not holding still. "Samuel, my name is Aquila", It said sounding like a radio. "Give my regards to Mr. Foster". as he said that he released me.

In the next moment, Ther was a bright flash followed by a deafening sound of a shock wave leaving my body. A massive explosion blew up the roof above me, clean while the blast reduce the apartments next to mine to rubble.

As soon as everything settled, I found myself standing in a broken-down apartment. I gripped my hands tightly, causing them to emit blue electricity. Which connected with the ground underneath my feet, searing the floor. I walked over the edge, stepping on the broken wall. All the faces below me looked up at me, all of their eyes were black.

Their jaws unhinged and they let out a screech in the union. I grin came over my face, "Alright, let's do this". As blue electricity accumulated in my hands and I dropped down while raising both hands above my head. Releasing the build-up onto the ground towards them.

This caused another flash, followed by a boom, knocking back the crowd like ragdolls. I quickly looked up the powerline going across. Aiming both of my hands at it and tensing the muscles, blue electricity shot and tethered on it. With a flick of my wrist and I shot up into the air, landing on top of the powerline.

Another jolt of electricity left from underneath me and shot up high into the air landing on top of the water tank on top of the apartment building. To my utter joy, I saw that the streets were moving towards me. She was right it was all of the Manhattan against a twelve-year-old. I giggle to myself, causing the electricity to jolt around me.

Raymond,

With flash bight cobalt flash, he leaped from the top of the building and dropped on masses below followed by a thunderous boom. Bodies got knocked back, scorched while he kept blasting bolts of lighting upon crowds. With each flash and boom, burnt bodies fell to the ground. Crippled and mangled, left to steam under the heating sun. While they continuously crawled toward the mad child.

"Maybe he wasn't listening when I said that, these were people being used as a suit by the demon. Why did you choose him as an External Vassel, wouldn't a somewhat mature being have sufficed", I said into the phone with the Saint on the other side, while I viewed the mayhem below.

"No, for what we require from him, maturity and righteousness are not needed and would only get in the way. Even if you had explained every little detail to him, he still had not given any thought to whom he is burning, as long as it keeps his interest. So don't forget to give him respect" the Saint explained.

"For the sake of Creation, I hope some good comes from this, Saint Edward". This was followed by explosions nearby, followed by crumbling down buildings on fire. All I wished for him now was not to get distracted from his goal while exploring his ways to use his newfound power.

His heart kept racing, as new ideas kept on creeping into his head. Shooting bolts of electricity and cooking them from inside-out, is never a dull moment. Over and over, with every boom, charred bodies kept on pailing up.

Stray blots shot off into buildings nearby, causing them to catch on fire. Crumbling down and burying those who were unfortunate enough to be caught by the falling rubble. Following the unlucky gas station, going up in flames. And this time, it wasn't an accident. He purposely set fire to it.

Only mayhem was in his every wake, with joy in his heart that a smile could not do justice and manic laughter that echoed through the doomed city. But this needed to be cut short.

Samuel,

I gripped my hand the same as always and had electricity pile up. But this time I did not release it, instead kept it in hand and ran up to the one closest to me. Ramming my fist right into his chest, even before my hand made contact with his skin, electricity blew up and shot back the moaning figure.

Remembering the feeling, I switched over to the next one approaching me. Tensing my bare feet on the gravel underneath me. Electricity collected underneath my feet and as soon as leaped forwards. It launched me forwards and riding the inertia, I smashed my fist straight into another person's face. Which bent and twisted around my knuckles and with boom, exploded into blood chunks.

With this tugging at my heartstring, I just couldn't believe it, I was given the power I rightly deserved all this time. Moving lighting fast and coming to them before they had a chance to come to me. Regardless of how much I moved and how many times I rammed my fist in between their black eye peas. I did not feel an ounce of tiredness.

I kept moving with the flow, hitting each person in adrenaline-filled rushes. Skins boiled and flesh cooked itself, bone broke apart and brain melted and seeped through their popped eyes socket, and ears, whenever anyone came in contact with my electrifying hands.

But this joist occasion was cut short, with sounds trumpet started rippling through the air. Involuntary shivers ran down my spine. As my eyes locked on the lady in green, an Intense miasma of rot and decayed flooded out of the soles of her shoes.

She smile at me and raised her hand, raising the tide of miasma emerging from behind her, forming in a title wave. Flowing forwards, straightening for me, and consuming everything dear to touch it. If I wasn't an idiot, I would know that she was telling me to hurry up.

I turned back to the street in front of me, with a sense of compound fear. Disregarding the arms reaching out for me, I tethered myself to the powerline and pulled myself onto it, and with a quick pull jolt myself. Sliding forward with electricity, like a bullet train going across the central park.

The sound of the trumpet kept on ringing in my head, while the nauseating smell came closer and closer. Soon I saw myself coming to the end of the line. I jumped forward with a boom and tethered myself to the next line over on the right when suddenly the trumpet became silent.

I stopped and came down on the ground, sliding on the street and turning around to miasma fading into the ground. Leaving me in a state of awe, with a view of thousand over million skeletons filling every inch of the street and a lady in green nowhere to be seen.

All of them were dead, without any hassle and boring to a dumb mind. But there was an untouchable beauty and elegance in genocide. At that moment shivers of excitement left my body and only one thought came to my mind, "Dame, that's hot".
