Chapter Seven: The Mother Of All Beginnings

Edward Foster,

My eyes opened, staring at the ceiling, with the light from a television going static and illuminating the darkroom. I sat up, ringing in my ears, claiming down to the silence of a living room. I felt it even before I looked at it: the Red Cross next to me, now with the White Gem embedded below the Red Gem.

I looked back at myself, seeing I had now suddenly changed clothes. I wore brown jeans with a white button-up shirt with sleeves rolled up, tucked inside it with a leather belt around my waist and brown boots. And last the most unusual piece of clothing I never would buy myself, a Beige color trench coat.

"What the hell am I wearing?", I asked myself, as I grabbed the Red Cross and helped myself back to my feet. Looking around, the reason for the darkness was the window being covered from the outside.

I came closer for inspection and found a bundle of large roots wrapping around the surface of the window and probably the whole house. But this will not keep me inside, as I walked over to my door and placed my hand on it.

Destruction of matter and with that, a hole appeared cutting through everything. Sudden sunlight burst into my face with the freshest air I had ever smelled. I stepped outside, covering my eyes from the sudden brightness, and after adjusting to it, I found myself in the middle of a forest while standing in a backyard.

"What is this...no, wherein the actual fuck am I?" I said, looking around. Only to find thick moss covering everything spot on the ground, while large roots covered all the houses in my neighborhood. Matting on the top of the roofs, twisting into the large lengthy trunks of trees, reaching the sky and covering it with their branches and palm-like leaves.

The whole horizon, in my view, had these long trees, with brown leather-like fruit shaped like a coconut hanging from the top. Hared of dark greenish large birds flew over the horizon, not any that I could identify. At that point, this didn't look like Earth anymore; more breathtaking than ever.

One of the large birds swirled back around and attacked the top of the tree, causing a rustle in the large, stretching palm leaves. This forced long and wide arthropod-like insects to suddenly and quickly crawl out of the leaves.

They had dark red slashes across their black-brown scales and shrimp-like legs. Dozens of them quickly ran away from the flock of large birds diving at them. Using their sharp talons to rip them off the tree and onto the ground.

The next moment, the birds were busy ripping them apart and eating them. Their wide wings and hooked beaks helped them pull apart the thick scales. A few even stared at me, but then they went back to eating.

Those insects who could reach the bottom crawled to the underside of the trees for protection. I quickly begin to realize the slight movements coming from the tops of all the trees scattered about. I could observe the closest one to me, looking at these arthropods sticking out and chewing on the trees' fruits with their large pair of mendable.

This was a whole other ecosystem suddenly brought to life. While I was in awe, I felt a certain amount of displeasure at seeing this, which caused me to turn around and want to go back into the darkness of the house.

Looking over my shoulder, it had just vanished, the entire house and the tree above it. Leaving behind the empty, barren ground and a path clear of moss towards the gravel road. In the right head, an odd spectacle stood out: a giant hill covered with lush green trees different from the ones around me. I was sensing it on top of it and the clearer direction I was being pushed towards.

So I started my pilgrimage towards it, but it wasn't very long since I had started walking that I felt him from a mile away. Coming around the corner, past a path leading from the middle of two houses, there on the moss-stained road. He sat comfortably in a white lawn chair facing a matching table and another chair. Sipping tea O'so gently with one hand and holding a small plate with the other, he looked differently from how I remembered him.

He was wearing similar attire to me, but with a sapphire blue trench coat and exposing his long lady-like sapphire hair underneath the morning light. The moment I lay my eyes on him, I didn't hesitate to cock him with the Red Cross.

I stepped forward, and his burning sapphire eyes fell on me. He smiled, placing his cup on the table. I felt the heat in my eyes. While I clenched my teeth, I brought up the Red Cross and readied to spear him from where I stood without an exchange of thought or word.

I swung at him with all my might but I only did it with an empty hand. Confusion gripped me while I looked back at him, with the Red Cross in his hands. "I am truly sorry for the tragedy that is your life. But please, Mr. Foster, listen...To what is your purpose?" he said, as he placed the Red Cross on the table to my left.

unable to think of an appropriate response or thought, I walked over to him. "Listen? Why should I give you a chance to speak?" I asked as I pulled the Red Cross off the table. "Don't you want to know what I am?" he said with a smile.

I gave it a moment of thought, looking at composure and confidence. I was certain that he wasn't going to escape or lie. "Fine, speak, you fucking cunt", I said grudgingly.

"Even though all is but simple... Regardless", he said strengthening his back. "I am one of the Entities, the embodiment of Reality, Law, and what you see, touch, and feel. But my body is that of a vessel by the name of David. Hence, you may call me that which should be more convenient for you", he explained.

I stared at him in silence for a moment. His smile irritated me. "And?" I said back, not understanding anything that had come out of his mouth.

"In simpler terms, I am the reason for all the laws and logic around you, things that make sense to you", he said while raising his hand and pointing at the Red Cross. "the Red Gem or a fragment, you can say, belongs to another Entity, that of Destruction and the White one belongs to the Entity, that of Preservation. And lastly, the flora you see around you is the work of the Entity, that of Life. However, those are currently without a vessel. I am certain that hearing that would make many things clear, wouldn't it?", he explained as if speaking to a lost child.

"Why are you telling me that?", I said as a miserable smile took over my face. "You fucker!", I Yelled in anger feeling the tears rising in my eyes.

His words made very little sense, all I could think about was what I had lost—my parents, my life. "I don't care who or what you are! Tell me why everything I had, had to be taken away from me!" I yelled at him again.

Hearing this, sudden confusion struck his face. "Ah, I see...You are asking why it was you. Well, we have a certain crisis at our hands, and we are planning to resolve it. You are just a part of it" he said with a smile, supporting his face with his knuckles.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" I asked again, as my grip around the Red Cross got tightened, ready to drive it through his face. "We are the Entities, and we intend on keeping the Creation in good health," he explained again.

I allowed him to explain, but he didn't make any sense. I gripped the Red Cross and lifted it above my head, causing the red gem to glow bright. "I know you are very confused, Mr. Foster," he replied calmly, as clearly showed my attention.

'Things might seem smaller than they are. However, you must quickly grasp the situation at hand; after all, it's all in the best interest of everything and everyone. If you still want more clarity, why don't you talk to her? "he said, pointing across the table.

I looked across, and there she was. Immediately, I felt a sting in my eyes as I stared at her form, and she stared back. In a light blue trench coat, with those familiar light brown eyes. "How have you been, Eddy?", she said, speaking with a soft smile.

Something poked me through my skull, causing me to stumble back. She looked like how I imagined she would have after eight years. Slight pain and anxiety hit me in my stomach, thinking of this as one of his tricks.

She pulled her chair back and stood up, pulling her light brown hair behind her ear. She was wearing a light pink button-up shirt twice her size, tucked inside a brown dress pants. She stretched up her legs, climbing on her bare feet.

"You...you, not her..." I said, stumbling on my words, as she approached almost joyfully, just as Lauren would have.

"What do you mean, Eddy? I waited so long to meet you, and you are saying that?" she asked as she grabbed my hand. As soon as she did, an image of a radiant being in the forefront of endless infinite worlds. Without an end or a universe to contain it. A being floating somewhere far away, without a sure way to get to it. If David was the center of the universe she was the very being that brought it into existence.

My flight and fight response kicked in, and I shot her hand back, Destruction flowing inside. It caused it to flow through her arm and into the ground, uprooting it and going across the road. The shock caused me to break into a cold sweat and I stumbled and fell back. I looked back at her surprised face and a stub in place of her arm.

Her expression turned into a sad smile filled with sorrow. "I see, that's...what I have made you, huh?." She said as fading while light flew out her arm and reconstructed it back into a hand.

She turned around and began walking away from the table. "Wait!" I yelled, and she stopped without turning around, "Why are you doing this, wearing her face?" I asked. "Her face?..." she said in anger, turning around and looking at me with tears in her eyes just before she looked away again, wiping them with her sleeves.

"It's too early for this" " she said as her hair suddenly turned a bright glow, enough to blind me.

I covered my hands, only to nearly see her lift her arm and point her finger to the left of us. A sudden crowd of figures had started to creep up on us. Their bodies were bloated and swollen in random places. Their clothes were stretched and torn, and their eyes were burning emerald. They limped toward us, and behind them, the same lush green hill, now with an emerald light, flickered from the very top.

"That is the fragment of the Entity of Life; it is yours to have.", she said in a sudden change of tone, and when I looked back, she had vanished. "What...was she!?", I yelled out to the only other person around me. "The mother of all beginning, you may call her whatever you may please. But that's not important right now. Arm yourself, Mr. Foster. They are coming", David said, and I noticed the figures beginning to break into a sprint.

No doubt that they were once humans, now misshapen and mutated into horrid beings. "Why...just why the fuck are you doing this?" I yelled at him again. "That's enough!", Reality shouted in anger, causing me to be stunned.

"Your misery is of no importance to us. If, in the end, the Creation is protected, we are willing to make do with any necessary sacrifices as well", Reality said, and at that moment, he was gone.

I stood there stunned, the Red Cross in my hand. I met a person claiming to be an Entity with a human called David as his vessel. I met something called Mother of all Beginnings, wearing Lauren's body. And then there was the massive crowd of morphed humans, running at me while I stood there in silence.

The White Gem started to glow along with the Red one, creating a red film to appear around me. The moment they jumped on me and came into contact with it, the film overtook them, jumping from one to another and wrapping itself around their thousand bodies at once. At last, the destruction did the deed, and they popped like balloons filled with blood and bones.

For a few moments, there was silence and the sound of blood raining on the Red haze that was shielding me. The smell of iron and fresh wet soil mixed around me while I stared blankly at the sky.

???,

We sat in the same light blue lawn chairs with the same light blue lawn table in between us. As the time froze around us, halting the mutated ones as they stomped forwards, towards younger Edward.

"Oh, dear my lord, I can't believe that you still want her. Mr. Edward Foster felt firsthand how it feels to be betrayed and yet he still didn't learn anything. Now here is a secret for you", I said, coming closer, pushing myself over the table to him. "A human has to be willing... to become a vessel", I whispered while I drew myself back laughing.

The time unfroze and mutated ones came in motion, continuing on their way. Charging towards Younger Edward, who in silence made his way to the Green Gem on the top of the pointed hill. Encapsulated inside a white silicon tree, without any leaves on the branches to hide it.

The tree had rooted itself deep inside the hill, manipulating everything from where it stood. Those who got close enough were caught in the power of the White Gem. Proceeding to explode into blood and guts, spraying across the air, due to the power of the Red one.

"All those were actual humans...You know right? The ones you turned effortlessly into the blood and piss. But, yeah who cares. After all, he did tell you to go ahead and kill as many as necessary. And look at you following along, not even sure why. But then, when all you had to do was to kill, nature's Titan rose", I said as the forest on the hill broke up in several ways.

The roots crawled outwards and tightly wrapped around the broken pieces of land, while the Silicon Fiend with the Green Gem, skunked into the hill from the top. Forming two stumps for arms, the Titan pushed itself off the ground.

Reviling a structure is composed of large roots twisting and tightly bound together. And the upper part is made up of land, held together with roots going through them. Standing taller than a skyscraper, shaped like a headless golem, with stumps for hands and feet. At last, the Green Gem was located inside its chest.

"It didn't matter how strong it was, nor how tall it was. At last, it was just wood and dirt, something which never stood a chance in front of you or the power in your hands. But none less, it tried to stomp you, only for it to lose that leg. And there onwards, you went up to his ass to its chest and blew out the silicon Fiend from the inside" I said, as the silicon trunk went flying outward, coming into Edward's view.

"At last, without wasting any time, you broke it apart and held the Gem of the Entity of Life in your hand. The resonance began at once", I said that, and immediately the mutated humans fell to the ground. Morphing back into corpses and the trees and moss that had grown out of its place. Shrunken and shriveled, until dead and dry.

"You felt a burning sensation in your eyes than stomach leading throughout your body until you to fainted", I said with a smile, While Edward's and my eyes started burning an emerald glow. "Now the final step was left in ascending to God-hood. For you to claim the power of the Reality itself, meant their perfect pawn was completed...But there was a single issue that had to take care of... your body and your will", I said.
