CHAPTER 6

I sat on the cold, hard floor of the cell. Looking out through the tiny window that had silver bars on it. It had no light in it. The moon was crescent and it still glowed, reminding of Damon. His neon eyes that held lights in the shape of a crescent moon.

I patted Lana's head that was on my thigh, she had fallen asleep and was curled up into a ball due to the cold. I couldn't believe she could sleep on this cold floor. I guess she's used to it and worse her sister had put her here, Lena was inhumane just like Lana had described. I still pitied Lana even more than myself although my head might be rolling tomorrow.

Thinking about tomorrow, I began to calculate my moves. Although I didn't know much about the Duskfire pack, I could still find my way around.

They all thought that I am Ariona, the weak Omega but I will show them how much of a Beta I am.

"That's right, " Ana started.

"I will let you have your way tomorrow if you behave" she growled. Behaving is not her thing.

Well I wasn't planning to behave.

"We are going to destroy a lot"

"Obviously" I know what she's capable of.

I adjusted to resting on the wall. Studying the small cell. The fat guard had passed by our cell for a zillionth time. Checking the persons in it with a lamp that was almost burning out. He seemed to stop beside our cell, stretching the lamp into the cell as if scanning the place.

'Freak' I guess that's the reason Lana called him names. I soon drifted to sleep, my eyes closing due to the tiredness I felt.

I was shaken awake. I hadn't slept a wink but Lana was shaking my body to wake me up.

Ana growled. I could agree with her, my whole body ached.

"Ariona… you have to wake up" she said. I rubbed my eyes a couple of times before I understood what was going on.

She hugged me. That was unexpected, her body shaking profusely and I could feel water drop on my cloth.

'Was she crying?'

I drew her back taking in the look on her face and certainly she was crying. My eyes watered. What is wrong, was she crying for the real Ariona or me.

She hugged me again. "Sorry I am crying" she paused in between tears. " Even though you aren't Ariona because I know you are not but you still treated just the way Ariona would… thank you Lily" she whimpered.

Instinctively, I wrapped my arms around her. I never had a sister and if she could be my sister it wouldn't be bad.

We stayed that way for a while but she broke the hug.

It wasn't even dawn yet but she woke me up.

"My sister is a jerk… but are you ready?" she asked.

"Ready for?" I wasn't sure of what she was saying.

The cell gate was flung open again with a loud thud. This time vibrating the whole building and reverberating in my heart.

"Oh no, they are here" Lana said, her hands shaking. Then it dawned on me that today is the day.

"How could you forget?" Ana said. Am glad I have her.

"You're the best"

"I am ready," I told Lana.

The huge men came stomping into the cell hall, their feet making loud thumps as they approached my cell. I gulped. Worry was written all-over Lana's face.

The guards stood in front of the cell unlocking the lock on the iron bars.

"Ariona… step forward" one of them said and I did as they said. They pulled me roughly out of the cell.

This is no way to treat a lady.

"Lily'' Lana called. I shot her a glance and my mouth wide open. I couldn't believe that she would call my own name, especially in front of everyone.

"I'm praying for you," she said.

"I will be fine" I assured her or maybe myself. The guards dragged me out of the cell gate.

Getting out of the dark room, it took a while for my eyes to adjust to the morning sun. They pushed and hit me to move faster but not faster than them.

Now I wish I had eaten when the fat faced man served the plate of stale bread and water. I hadn't eaten ever since I woke up, my stomach grumbled.

The grumbling ceased when I saw what was in front of me, a wooden staircase to climb a certain podium. On the podium was a soldier with a sharp sword, his sword seemed to glisten with the morning light.

At the center of the podium was a guillotine, its tall upright frame was polished and its diagonal edge blade looking very dreadful.

"That's one hell of a sword"

"I agree"

They dragged me close to the wooden staircase. There were people watching, like the entire pack, I guess.

'Is this how they execute their criminals or is it just me'

I was pulled to the podium and my senses heightened.

"Isn't that Ariona" a woman said. I guess she is one of the women that knows Ariona.

"Are they going to kill her… She's just an Omega"

Their voices were filled with pity.

'Was Ariona really that pitiful, was she so weak that everyone pitied her'

If that was what they all thought of her then I am certainly going to change her story, for my sake, for Lana's sake and mostly for her and her daughter's sake.

I was pulled further and close to the guillotine. The guards held my arms as they guided my head to the frame of the machine, one of the guards pulled out silver chains to put my hand in place.

But that's not going to happen, not on my watch.

"Let's pull this whole place down," I said.

Ana growled, taking her full form as her white fluffy fur came to view. Making the sharp blade of the guillotine to land on an empty space. Ana attacked the guard with a sword causing him to lose his footing and fall off the podium.

I could feel her, pumping with so much adrenaline. This is Ana in her own form. She is always ecstatic and that's why I love her. She hasn't taken full control in a while and now I would let her.

Taking everyone by surprise, Ana tore at the guards. They trembled, legs turning to rubber. They haven't seen a strong Omega before but I was no Omega.

I am Lily Waterfalls of Wildfire pack and a strong Beta.

The guards began to transform into wolves. They were so many against Ana, she moved back keenly watching the enemy wolves in front of her, targeting and aiming for her first prey.

There was a deafening sound from the place the pack members stood and we looked down to see that they were transforming as well but they were fighting against the guards.

This was insane but I liked it. Seems they didn't like what their Luna had instituted, it seems Lena has already failed as a Luna, but I didn't care much about that.

Ana launched at the wolf infront her leaving a huge mark on its side.

"We have to leave" I told her when I noticed that the wolves were helping to fight against the guards.

Ana jumped down from the podium racing off to where the pack members were and she picked up a few clothes.

I transformed back into my full state as I put on the black pants and gray top that I had picked up, putting a black cloak over it.

I thought of Lana,

'Was she safe'.

I sprinted back towards the direction of the cell.

The whole place was a ruckus. The cell gate was open and the guards were nowhere to be seen. My eyes kept searching for the ginger haired lady but I couldn't find her amongst the prisoners that left the cell.

"Lily" a voice called behind me. Turning to see her ginger hair with a smile on her face. She was the first person that has called me by my real name ever since I came back.

'Did she escape from the cell'

"You are safe… you are safe" she repeated again as she ran to me. She checked my hands, my face, and my neck.

"You are safe too," I told her. She gave me a soft smile.

"I had to escape when I had the chance and am not going back to that dungeon" she whined, I chuckled. This must be how she and Ariona were with each other.

"So what are you going to do next?" She asked. I had a lot of things to do and I needed answers to a lot of questions.

"Are you going to find out what happened, seek justice for Ariona and I guess for yourself"

"Yes," I replied.

I was really going to miss her. Even if it's for a short time.

"I will see you around," I told her.

Turning around, I began to head back to a person that would know all the answers.

The moon goddess.
