CHAPTER 15

LILY

Damon made the first move, instinctively hiding me behind him although Wolf could still see me.

"She's still with me, if you don't mind," he said.

Wolf looked from me to Damon, a knowing smile curling on his lips.

"I will leave you two to your thing" he said and walked away.

'Asshole'

What was he talking about, but something at the back of my head was telling me that what he was saying is the truth.

"You seem to know a lot of people here," he said. Looking at him, I scowled.

He was getting on my nerves.

"He's my bodyguard" I said to earn a chuckle from him.

"You have a bodyguard here but you didn't have any the last time I saw you"

"You even looked disheveled then"

"And you were drinking like a lost man"

He cleared his throat, not wanting to talk about that day. I didn't want to talk about it either.

"I do know that the Old Alpha Cassio didn't like to work with women," he said.

'But he could kidnap a woman'

"I guess you are special to him since he called you his wolf" Damon said

I glared at him, he was calling me that man's wolf again.

The sound of shoes clinking against the floor was heard as The Old Alpha walked out from the corner that Wolf had left in.

"Mr Damon" he called walking to us. Damon stood up to meet him but I didn't budge as usual.

"Ari" he had that smile on again but I didn't answer as I fidgeted with my hair.

Looking at the guards, I realized that Wolf was with them.

This thought always crossed my mind but I shoved it off. Now I wanted to give it a chance.

'Escape'

Walking past Damon,I said, "I will see you later Mr Damon"

Looking at the men, "I will be inside"

I made my way into the hall where the party was held.

"You are leaving without Damon," Ana whined.

"I have to, obviously he wouldn't wait for me when it's time for him to leave" I replied.

"This might not be a good idea, Lily" she said

"Good idea or not… I want to leave here" I snapped

I looked around the hall, werewolves were about their businesses and there were no guards in sight.

Moving quickly, I left the building, heading to the one I came out from in the first place.

Opening the door, I tried to retrace my steps, although Wolf had been the one carrying me when I first arrived. I still wanted to know how to get out of here.

There was another door which I opened and it led to two doors, one on the left and the other on the right.

'How can a house be this complicated'

Opening the right door, I walked into the room and discovered nothing there. Then I took the left door, walking into the room, I discovered that there were only paintings there.

There were no more doors downstairs. This place is so complicated and strange.

"Check upstairs" I heard Ana say.

I quickly climbed the stairs, there was a door right in front of me and beside me was a hallway filled with doors.

"Tsk" I shook my head. This was harder than I thought.

Opening the door in front of me, that was the dressing room I had come out from with the maids. The next room was empty, and I kept checking door after door.

I opened the last door at the end of the hallway and there was a staircase after it, leading downstairs.

I climbed down the stairs at once. Opening the door, I saw two guards standing watch at a corner of the room that I just got into,

This is bad… very bad

I slipped my feet out of the heels and held them in my hands. The whole act was crazy but I had to escape.

Using my wolf instincts, I tried to grasp the scents around me. The only werewolves around were the guards at the corner. I scurried off to the other direction and I was glad I did.

Slowly opening the door, my eyes caught hold of the kitchen, the Old Alpha Cassio was in when I came in here the first day.

I made my way to the kitchen picking up a penknife and slipping it into the pads of my gown.

A smile curled on my face as I rolled my hair in a bun.

Walking across what seemed to be the sitting room due to the couches that filled the room, the fireplace and the lamp stands.

There was a piece of paper lying on one of the night stands.

I got over to pick it up and it was a sketch.

A sketch of Ariona.

'Was this the reason I was kidnapped… where they looking for me ever since'

The words that Wolf said to me when I came crossed my mind, ringing in my ears.

"Enjoy it while it lasts"

'Were they after me all along'

Bringing all those wolves making them fight one another and making me to fight too, was it all to find me, to get me as a bait.

'What did these people really need from Ariona and who are they to her'

They knew her name, they knew that she's an Omega and a very weak one at that, they traced my every move. This all seemed planned from the beginning and I was the only one that's not aware of it at all.

I sprang to my feet, grabbing the paper from the night stand and throwing it into the fireplace as I watched it burn to ashes.

I won't let them ruin my plans… I have come too far and am not backing down now.

Resilience was already engraved in my heart. I have sacrificed alot and am not losing anything.

Ana picked up a scent; "We should get out of here" she said. "Someone is coming," she added.

I hid in a corner of the room, planning my next move, which was to leave the room.

The front door opened and the Old Alpha Cassio walked in with Wolf beside him. I watched them from the corner,

Sitting down on a couch the Old Alpha slammed the table close to him and I jerked.

"What do you mean, you lost her?" he asked, anger evident in his voice.

'Were they looking for me?'

"Am sorry Boss" Wolf apologized.

I tried as much as I could not to breathe too loudly, if not I'm certain that I would get caught.

"Search everywhere, find her and bring her to me" he roared.

Wolf dashed out of the room. The Old Alpha heaved a sigh.

"Ariona," he muttered.

'Did he already know that I'm in the room'

Panic began to build in my insides. I didn't want this Old man to find me.

He got up from the couch and walked to a certain nightstand. My eyes followed him carefully and it dawned on me,

It was the night stand that had the paper of Ariona's sketch. It wasn't there, I had burnt it after all.

The Old Alpha began to search the couches but found nothing. I released the breath that I didn't know I was holding onto.

I sighed in relief… but his next move caused me to panic again.

"Ariona… I know you are here, somewhere" his voice was ragged, from the shouting.

"Where are you, Ari" he asked

My body shook as I covered my lips with my hands.

His voice sounded like the devil at the moment making my toes curl.

He began to check every corner of the room.

"Why are you scared of him?" Ana asked, annoyed. I could feel her wanting to burst out; she wanted to devour the Old Alpha.

He is still an Alpha so he would be stronger than I am.

"He's an Alpha, Ana… we can't take the risk"

She didn't like the statement as I felt her boil inside me like a volcano about to erupt.

"I will handle it" I assured her

"Your way but not with your help"

I felt her shrink at the back of my head, not saying a word again.

"Sorry" I wanted to say but it was caught in my throat. The Old Alpha Cassio kept rummaging the room like he was looking for an ant. I guess his old age is kicking in or maybe not, the man is so ruthless and I don't think old age works on him.

"Come out of your hiding place, weakling and face my wrath"

He was obviously pushing me to the edge, maybe he had guards lurking in the corner waiting for me to appear before they launched their attack.

"Don't you want to know what really happened to you" he asked, his voice malicious and that evil smile was on his lips as usual.

'What really happened to Ariona?'
