Chapter Fifteen: The Lennons' Scandal
Seraphina's POV
Alpha Sebastian had a reasonable side? Latest discovery.
The pain and fear I felt anytime I met him slowly melted when he kept speaking with authority and logic. He could even decipher that the Beta's younger brother was wrong.
Thinking back at it, the Alpha was also a smart person in my past life as he was able to govern Theroes and made it the second biggest pack in North America.
Maybe, he was cold but calculative and I only met the calculative part of him now. He didn't even look at me like someone that was mourning and only like someone making issues in his pack.
I exhaled, feeling more comfortable with my decision. His approval of my decision had worried me but he seemed to understand that nothing was left here for me.
Second walked out of the room and I faced him.
"No one will come in here till tomorrow when you get the one who can unlock the safe. Though tell me before you come in tomorrow, I'd keep someone here to watch here."
I didn't want them to know about my Samira yet.
He nodded and ordered the boys to take the acquired documents to the car. We locked the doors and I was stunned to see that they had brought extra keys with them.
We left Theroes Pack and I kept looking at the confused faces of the pack members as I left. My mansion was padlocked everywhere so good luck getting it to open. The Alpha would've also told them to steer clear.
"So we'd be heading back to Lennons' place." Second said but it sounded more like a question, in case I wanted to go elsewhere. I nodded and the driver increased his speed.
I sat back and that name he mentioned kept ringing in my head. The Lennons. That was an iconic name and it reeked of old money to me. Also jewellery. And scandals.
I probably read an old article of them back in my past life but since I met them in the new life, I should try to recollect. Rich people and scandals worked hand in hand so it wasn't anything new.
It wouldn't surprise me if the scandal had to do with that jerk anyway. I took out my phone and looked up the Lennons' scandal, and hoped for a lot. Yet one seemed to be the most reoccurring in many articles.
They were indeed old money as I thought and their group Lennon Group, had been in existence since the 70s. They were the biggest jewellery company and I remembered buying the earrings I died with from them.
Their scandal was one involving a model that recently married the eldest son of the Lennon Group. She really bagged a lot and they seemed to have a son.
I looked at the date and this happened only fifteen years ago, which meant this must be about Percy's mother. I checked the lady's picture and she was really the one.
I stared longer at her picture, which was probably from her time as a model. I tore my eyes away and looked at myself. My insecurities were coming again so I left the site and looked for another that didn't have much pictures.
I found one and it had a picture of the complete family, and there was 'Mr. Lennon before his death.'
My brows knitted together but slowly released when I remembered that Luther spoke about Percy's father being assassinated and his wife standing up to fight.
What I didn't understand was why her scandal of having an affair had happened at the same time that her husband died and seemed to be related.
I downed the whole article and felt truly terrified of people.
Mrs. Lennon had been accused of an affair a day after her husband and pets were mysteriously killed in his car. What a way to console a grieving wife and mother!
She had been accused of instigating it as she had an affair with one Mr. Zen. "Isn't that my aunt's husband?"
I squinted my eyes at a picture of him laughing with Mrs. Lennon during her days as a model. He had vibrant red hair, the hair that Elisa took.
Mr. Zen seemed to have been an actor that was also a fan of Mrs. Lennon but their relationship was more work-friendly than romantic or even platonic.
Mr. Zen's career had suffered during the scandal and Mrs. Lennon was accused of killing her husband to be with Mr. Zen. They were even talks that her son and heir to Lennon Group was from the affair.
This truly displeased me and worse, her husband brothers seemed to support it, especially the fact that Percy might not be the heir. Obviously because they wanted the company for themselves.
I looked at Mr. Lennon and he looked a lot like Percy, with less jerkiness on his face though.
The scandals seemed to have been cleared months later as the next article I saw had been about Mr. Lennon's secretary being involved in his death and spreading of wrong information about Mrs. Lennon.
Ultimately, it had been staged by big rivals of Lennon Group who didn't like how Lennon Group dominated the jewellery and vintage industry and were trying to add a clothing line too.
No wonder Mrs. Lennon had to take off her heels and wear some boots to smash heads with an underground mafia group that belonged to her father.
I felt more confident in her abilities to help my family but I also wanted to have her level of wit and courage.
"Miss Seraphina, we're here." Second snapped me from my thoughts. I tried to take some boxes from what he packed down but he stopped me.
"They'd handle it." He referred to the butlers coming towards us. I stepped back and made a mental note to myself to let these butlers do their work.
Percy couldn't believe I was a heiress because my mentality wasn't like one.
Deep down, I was still a hurt twenty-one year old workaholic girl who wanted to handle everything before looking at herself.
