PREP day

The next morning, Arjun awoke with a sense of determination coursing through his veins. Today was the day to begin preparing for the GURUKUL entrance test. As he stretched and yawned, he found Krishna already awake and waiting for him with a playful grin.

"Good morning, Arjun," Krishna greeted. "Ready to start our preparations?"

Arjun nodded eagerly. "Absolutely! What's the plan?"

Krishna's eyes sparkled with excitement. "First of all, only mages with a magic level above RAJA level 4 are admitted to this GURUKUL. So, phew, we've cleared that hurdle," he said with a mischievous grin.

Arjun couldn't help but chuckle at Krishna's lightheartedness. "That's a relief," he admitted. "What's next?"

"Well," Krishna continued, "we need to learn basic spells and potion formulas, even if we can't perform them. These are part of the written test, and then tomorrow after that will be the final mystery test. Here, take a look at this booklet provided by the GURUKUL. It has all the information we need."

Arjun took the booklet and began flipping through its pages. The sheer volume of information was overwhelming, yet interesting for Arjun who wished to know everything about this world.

"Don't worry, Arjun," Krishna reassured him. "It's not as difficult as it seems. We just need to study hard and commit these details to memory. It's doable."

"But what about the final test?" Arjun asked, his voice tinged with concern. "You mentioned there's a final mystery test!?."

Krishna nodded. "Yes, even after clearing all this, we will have a final test. It's a bit of a mystery, and is different every year, but we'll face it together." said Krishna with an anxious grin.

Arjun took a deep breath, feeling a mix of relief and anxiety. He was grateful he didn't have to perform the spells and only needed to learn them, but the uncertainty of the final test loomed over him like a shadow.

"Alright," Arjun said, determination hardening his resolve. "Let's get to it."

They found a quiet corner and began studying the booklet. The pages were filled with intricate diagrams, explanations of spells, and potion recipes. Krishna guided Arjun through the basics, explaining the principles behind each spell and the ingredients required for the potions.

After about two hours of intense study, Arjun leaned back and stretched, a satisfied smile on his face.

"I'm done," he announced.

Krishna looked up, a mixture of shock and disbelief on his face. "What? How could you possibly be done so quickly?" he asked, his voice tinged with incredulity.

Arjun rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Did I forget to mention that I have a photographic memory? I can remember everything I see and learn easily."

Krishna's eyes widened in amazement, and a hint of jealousy flickered across his features. "That's incredible, Arjun," he said, shaking his head in disbelief.

Arjun shrugged modestly. "It comes in handy sometimes," he admitted.

Krishna sighed, a playful glint in his eyes. "Well, since you're done, you can help me study."

Arjun laughed and agreed, spending the next few hours helping Krishna go over the material. They quizzed each other on spells and potion formulas, turning the study session into a fun and interactive experience. Krishna's initial jealousy melted away as he appreciated Arjun's patience and willingness to help.

As the day turned into evening, they finally finished their preparations. Exhausted but satisfied with their progress, they shared a hearty dinner and discussed their plans for the next day. The anticipation of the upcoming test weighed heavily on their minds, making it difficult to relax.

Later that night, as they lay in their respective beds, sleep eluded them both. Arjun stared at the ceiling, his mind racing with thoughts of the selection test. He couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at him, the uncertainty of the final test lingering in the back of his mind.

and just thinking and thinking about, seeing the fan whirring, it felt as if he just blinked and when he opened his eyes, he saw Krishna's face saying " Mornin' sunshine, big day ahead!!."
