The girl gave Alec his balance and flashed her best smile. "Thanks for coming. We hope to see you soon", she said and put the money on the pocket part of the apron.

"Sorry for being too forward but why are you the only waiter in this restaurant?" Alec asked curiously. The reason he asked was not that obvious. That was because he only saw the girl collecting orders from customers without anyone helping her.

"Yes, I am. My dad owned this restaurant, and he couldn't afford a waiter, so I had to help him run the business. This was the only way I pay for school, you know", the girl said, before realizing she said too much. "I'm very sorry for telling you that, I don't know what came over me", she apologized awkwardly.
