The Reality Game
As an ordinary college sophomore student, Alec Norman always focused on making sure he get good grades to graduate in flying colours. While Alec's school project demanded that he bought a Virtual Reality headset, he stumbled on a pawn shop and met an old man who gifted him a retro VR headset, a headset which he accepted begrudgingly. What he didn't know was that the VR headset he brought to his home would change the way he understood reality forever. Inspired from the novel 48 Hours a Day!
A Standoff
The suited man stopped at the end of the stairs, which had a door between them and the rooftop. The green-suited man speaking to the captain earlier looked at the rest of the group and gave a signal. They immediately understood and kicked the door simultaneously, pointing the gun ahead of them, ready to kill anything that moves.
There was no one in sight on the rooftop. "Sir, the sniper is missing", the green-suited man said, touching his earpiece. "What do you mean he's not there, sweep the rooftop!" The captain said with anger, causing the green-suited man to wince in pain as a result of the high pitch the earpiece produced.
"Alright sir", he obliged and signaled to the group to spread out. The rooftop wasn't too big, so they were able to search it fairly quickly. They regrouped back and informed the green-suited man they saw no one.
