Just a day before...

It had been a good six months and many good things had happened. Mei na raised Ye Muchen's salary by a hundred yuan more. He also saved up enough money to buy the fourth floor but only because Mei na decreased the price by two hundred yuan.

Li Huan's birthday party was a great day and Ye Muchen had bought her a bouquet of bright, yellow sunflowers and a brand new keyboard which had rainbow lights.

"Ugh, it's still 9:43, I wanna sleep. But... I can't sleep because I am too excited for my birthday tomorrow. I wonder what Li Hu and Mei na would give me, or if they even would remember." Ye Muchen said to himself. His excitement had kept him up since a week and there was a hundred percent chance they would forget.

"Muchen, today we are going to have many customers." Said Mei na. "There is this group of twenty people who come on the 4th of September every year to play Legend of Ace. Some of them are rude while the others are the opposite. So don't slap them if they irritate you, they bring us a lot of money." She continued.

"Okay, I will try my best not to send them to the hospital." Said Ye Muchen sarcastically. Muchen continued doing his work at the reception and finally the group of twenty people came pouring in. They were weirdly dressed.

They wore the same blue, purple and red jackets with "Team Xixi" written on it.

Ye Muchen turned his seat the other way to not see them and laughed quietly and turned back the other way with a serious face. The "Team Xixi" walked towards the reception and gave Ye Muchen twenty Identification cards.

"Welcome to Merry Internet Cafè!" Greeted Ye Muchen with a big smile on his face. "Give us our usual seats." Said one of the members rudely. Ye Muchen got angry a little bit but he just took a deep breath and said, "Sorry, I am actually new here, so I do not know your usual seats."

"Why can't you do anything? Such an idiot. It's from row 4 to row 5." Said some random guy from the team. Ye Muchen kept reminding himself not to punch them and found the seats. "Okay, rows 4 and 5. You can take your cards and go. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for being so understanding." He said with the fakest smile known to man who was cursing the peanut butter and jelly at the team.

"No, this is the worst service. How can you do this to us? Don't you know who we are?" Said a guy from behind the first guy. Ye Muchen whispered to himself, "Why? Didn't your mom tell you?"

"What did you say?" Said the Team leader. "Nothing, sir. I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience. I am very new here and I have not gotten the hang of it yet. I apologize with all my heart." Faked Ye Muchen.

"Whatever, the vending machine food isn't great and the employees here are stupid."

"Hey! Shouted Mei na. "Get out of here!" Ye Muchen was sad and he got up. "Sorry." He said sadly. "Not you, Muchen. Them." Said Mei na angrily. The weirdo team was shocked and one of them said "Excuse me?"

"You are not excused. No one can be rude to my employees other than me. Get out of here now before I call security." Said Mei na even more angrily. The team was offended and left.

"Wait, you should not have done that. You said they bring us money." Said Ye Muchen worriedly. "Who cares about money if they don't have mercy for a new employee. Next time if they come, just tell security to take them out, they aren't coming here again." Said Mei na and she walked away from the reception.

Muchen smiled and shouted from afar, "Hey, atleast I did not send them to the hospital!" Mei na looked behind, chuckling softly and continued walking ahead.

"Nice, it's break time!" Ye Muchen said to himself. He walked towards the vending machine searching for the least expensive food that he could eat. "Noodles and some water sounds nice. I can throw in some gried rice too."

He inserted a few coins and selected the things he wanted. The total was... 10.67 yuan. Ye Muchen bent down to pick up his food items and sat on a table. First he drank some water and then he ate fried rice because he did not like putting fried rice in a dry mouth.

"You need some juice. Why are you having water?" Asked Li Huan from behind Ye Muchen. "Jeez! You scared me." Said Ye Muchen. Li Huan chuckled and said, "You look a little thin. Have you been eating properly, or is it just skip breakfast and dinner but eat lunch?"

"I have been eating, don't worry." Said Ye Muchen. Li Huan did not believe him, so she went towards the vending machine and got some ice cream for Muchen. "You don't have to do that." Said Ye Muchen. "It's fine. Eat a lot, you would look better if you were fat and not thin." Said Li Huan.

"What does that mean?" Asked Muchen in a confused tone. Li Huan chuckled and put the ice cream on the table. She walked away with her hands in her pockets.

Ye Muchen picked up the small, round ice cream tub to open it, but he saw something below it. "Five hundred, thousand, two, wait what?"

It seemed Li Huan had known about Ye Muchen's money problem and gave him five thousand yuan. "Silly girl." Said Ye Muchen softly. He put the money in his pocket and continued eating till his break was over.

While eating, Muchen thought to himself, "I should have asked her if she was throwing me a birthday party or maybe what she was going to gift me."

The rest of the day went on normally.
