Ambush

Blaze's eyes fluttered and he regained consciousness. His head was on Frore's lap.

"Did I pass out?"

"....yes." 

"Where did that butler go?" Blaze asked while taking off his mask.

"...ran away, said that we could leave now." Frore also took off his mask.

"...hmm." Blaze said while looking at the dungeon gate. 

At that moment the system's blue screen flashed in front of him.

[" Congratulations dear user. You have successfully completed the quest. All skills and stats, as well as your inventory are now unlocked."] 

The bleeding had stopped and his hands felt a lot better. He got up from Frore's lap and stood up straight.

The moment they took off their masks, their clothes changed back to normal and their surroundings became foggy. 

Frore turned towards Blaze, took a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped off the Blood from Frore's face. 

Blaze sheathed Kaiser, while Frore wiped his face, "Thank you."

"...I have said it before you don't need to thank me. Let's leave." 

Blaze and Frore left through the dungeon gates together and as soon as they crossed to the other side, a high speed arrow was headed in Frore's direction.

Blaze's "perception" stat was high and catching that arrow bare handed was a simple task for him. 

Frore was shocked at the arrow that stopped right before his nose, thanks to Blaze's vigilance.

"Tsk. Looks like you guys couldn't afford to spend a fortune on a gate-key so you waited outside to ambush us."

A plain looking guy and a bunch of similar mob like guys were behind him. " Why would we waste our resources, when the target is just a B- ranked novice kid? " That guy spoke up.

Another one behind him then spoke, "Who are you? we didn't have any information about someone being there with the kid." 

"You maniacs don't deserve the answer. Besides, you are going to die in about 15 seconds." Blaze answered coldly.

"That arrogant brat, guys attack him!" The guy in the front shouted.

Blaze was really angry because he had gone through quite a lot just now and now these bastards were here to annoy him.

Frore sensed his mood and just commented, "...about 30, all B or C ranks."

"Yeah, stay here. I will be done soon."

Blaze used "mana shield" on Frore and unsheathed Kaiser. He didn't need to use Kaiser's ability on mobs like them. 

Blaze just vanished for a few seconds and returned right beside Frore and sheathed Kaiser. All of their heads went flying and blood splattered everywhere. 

Blaze then felt someone's gaze and quickly turned his head in that direction but there was no one there. 

"What's wrong?" 

{Looks like Frore didn't sense it.} Blaze removed the mana shield.

"I felt someone's gaze on us, for a second there; but now the feeling is gone. Also these guys' boss wasn't here. Like someone was testing us. My instincts are telling me, it wasn't their real plan."

"...mm. I agree."

The 'thing' that Blaze sensed spying on them wasn't a person, but a crow.

The crow was standing on a tree branch far away, it had neon blue eyes. 

The person who was connected to the crow was sitting in a dark place with a black face mask and a hood over their head. 

" How amusing, I wonder just how strong is he? Even the majority of S - classes can't detect my presence, and he detected it when I only glanced at them? Looks like I will need to do some research, before making a serious plan."

They said with a creepy smile on their face.
