The Raven Thief

Born of the wastelands, Spheris Arnadel, a young skilled thief, finds himself subject to a twist of fate when he steals a powerful relic and becomes a Bearer — humans gifted with powers from the Gods. As a punishment for his theft, he is cast into an otherworldly realm alongside other Bearers, where he faces off against monstrous beasts and powerful enemies. Yet, in his determination to return to the Continent and save his dying mother, Spheris is hell-bent on surviving the abyssal world. Even if it means giving his body to the Dark God whose powers he had stolen... even if it means losing all of his humanity.

Spheris held the Translator Prism Variable close to the Demon Flasks as he peered through its glass form and quietly read the ancient writings in the Old Tongue inscribed on the Flasks.

Through his peer, the Prism whirred with a silent, magical sound and the Old Tongue slowly morphed to the modern tongue that he could understand.

He read in his mind. 'Xaldrath, the corrupter of minds. Urmspol, the veil splitter. Amosrapos, thief of joy. Mierda, anchor of lust. These are terrifyingly powerful Demons... and this Necromonger just had them stored down here.'

"Is that a Translator Prism?" Myra asked him, standing a fair distance to his left.

Spheris removed his gaze from the Variable and looked at her. "It is," he answered.

"Nice," she said, as though she'd used all her strength to usher that compliment. "Jared has one as well."
