The harsh ground began to tremble violently beneath their feet, and they felt it, just as they felt the immense force of explosion from the Firefrost's demise, just as they felt the instant orbital wave of fire, stretching through the expanse and scorching everything on its path.
Rocks melted into molten pools, and the already tense air crackled with the intensity of heat. Then, the wave surged towards the team, disastrous, deathly, an unstoppable wave of powerful scorching fire and the destruction that followed it.
This was the Core's last attempt to protect itself, to kill who or whatever was after it.
Akemi, Nero and Cerene saw the deadly inferno approaching, eyes wide with terror as it scorched through everything. "We need to run, now!" Nero cried, his voice barely audible over the roar of the flames.. "Run!"
They all struggled to their feet, and ran away from the chasing orbit of fire, anxiety dancing in their vines, eyes burning with terror.
