Born of the wastelands, Spheris Arnadel, a young skilled thief, finds himself subject to a twist of fate when he steals a powerful relic and becomes a Bearer — humans gifted with powers from the Gods. As a punishment for his theft, he is cast into an otherworldly realm alongside other Bearers, where he faces off against monstrous beasts and powerful enemies. Yet, in his determination to return to the Continent and save his dying mother, Spheris is hell-bent on surviving the abyssal world. Even if it means giving his body to the Dark God whose powers he had stolen... even if it means losing all of his humanity.
Spheris's head raised in brisk shock, and his eyes darkened at the man. "You're an assassin?"
Still no evidence of emotion from him, the monk man's lips parted slowly, eyes stern. "You believe you can be moulded into something of worth. You are scum. Scum is worthless."
Vines instantly began to rise from behind him, many a number, stretching out in response to the command of their master.
"This means you are not worthy of life. Speak more of the life that you theived you way into having."
Spheris took steps backwards. Once he dug his hands in his pockets and remembered his blades weren't with him, he realized the amount of danger he had just gotten into.
Another assassin! On the very same day! In two different Wings! 'Who the Hell wants me dead so bad!?'
As if the vines and the dangerous plants around him weren't enough, the trees and plants began to tear open, and coming out of them were marshals armed with pistolets.
