Chapter 28: Chapter 16 Volume 2 Epilogue

"Elliot Green...? You're not kidding, are you?!" Mr. Schmidt asked with a shocked expression and intonation.

He immediately approached the enemy boss. Nagao who noticed the change in his attitude, immediately asked,

"Do you know who Elliot Green is, Old man?"

However, Nagao's question wasn't answered by him. When Mr. Schmidt was in front of the enemy, he immediately grabbed hard in the collar of the enemy's clothes. He started to speak,

"Your jokes aren't humorous right now, understand?!" said Mr. Schmidt in a deep tone. "I'll give you one chance. WHO. SENT. YOU. HERE, you bastard?!" He continued with bulging eyes and a scary face.

"I-I told you... before! I-I swear it!" said the enemy boss with a frightened expression. "I told you the truth!"

Hearing the words of the enemy, Mr. Schmidt attempted to strangle the neck of the enemy boss. But Nagao's hand prevented his actions. He also said to Mr. Schmidt,

"Calm your head, Old man! We're doing this to seek the information. So, don't be rash! said Nagao in an assertive tone.

"Since when did you become the boss in here, brat?! He's my prey. So, stay out of my method, brat!" He said angered.

"Wait a minute! Your method?! HAH!" Nagao's reaction with a dry laugh. "How dare you say that, you Old-selfishness-bastard!"

Mr. Schmidt immediately stood before Nagao. With the same expression as before, he threatened Nagao,

"Now it's your turn to act like an asshole at a time like this, huh?! I've got to teach you a lesson about who's boss in here!"

Receiving that reaction, Nagao replied,

"You're the temperamental person who couldn't read the situation. What a selfishness-dickhead person!"

*Thud!*

Mr. Schmidt hit Nagao in the face. As a result of the heavy punch, Nagao spat out blood and knocked out one of his teeth. Getting such treatment, Nagao just glared at Mr. Schmidt. He was silent and hurried away.

Realizing that, Adolph said,

"Where are you going, Nagao?!"

However, Nagao just kept silent as he hurried away. Realizing his mistake earlier, Mr. Schmidt immediately approached Nagao while holding his shoulder. However, Nagao forcibly released Mr. Schmidt's hand from his shoulder and said,

"Mind your own business, Motherfucker!" While walking away.

Seeing this condition, Adolph said to Mr. Schmidt,

"Only your age increases. But, the way of your thinking isn't!" While leaving without looking at Mr. Schmidt at all.

At that moment, the meeting between several people began to separate like tree branches.

It's been a few weeks after that incident I started doing mission activities of the adventurer's guild. I'm not solo. This time, Adolph helped me on the mission. She said if she stopped being a rent-a-hitman assassin and turned into an adventurer with the same class as before. Realizing her condition, I accepted her presence as my partner adventurer.

In disguise, the two of us carried out several missions given by the guild. Sometimes, the mission could be up to months. As a result, both of us had to leave the kingdom to complete the mission which given to us.

At noon, July 1st, 2223. In the Adventurer's Guild of the Angendal Kingdom...

"Finally! This mission was finished too!" while stretching her arms. "Let us find an inn and a place to eat first, Nagao!"

"You wait outside of the guild door. I still have a business to report on a mission." I said while taking out a sheet of mission form.

I walked to the reception desk. After finishing some business, I walked to meet Adolph at outside. When I came outside, I saw Adolph waiting. Immediately, I approached her.

The two of us started looking for inns and places to eat. After finding an inn that fits for the budget of us, the two of us started looking for a place to eat. After both of us searched for it, I found a pub. We walked in and ordered the available food. While waiting for the food, Adolph began to speak,

"Did you already finish everything?"

"Yes, I did. Everything was done at the guild, including the reward's mission. Why?" while looking at Adolph.

"A-ah, it's okay then! I was just curious earlier, you i-idiot!" she replied in a clumsy tone.

(Even though she has often participated in missions with me. However, until now, she still couldn't understand the guild system? How odd this person is!) I thought suspiciously.

Then, Adolph spoke again,

"By the way," while looking at Nagao. "Are you still grudged by Mr. Schmidt's treatment?"

(Oh, so this is the reason why she was acting odd just now!) I thought starting to understand Adolph's act meaning.

I just sighed hearing her words. After a while, I replied,

"It isn't about whether I'm grudged or not with him," while remembering the incident at that time. "I just didn't accept how he's treated before. By the way, why did you suddenly ask that? Are you trying to persuade me to make up with that Old man?"

Adolph immediately started to act fool after hearing what I said. Immediately, she only reacted with a chuckle. Seeing her behavior, I simply replied,

"It turns out, you're role played as a "double agent", huh?" while sighing. "You intended to get the two of us back together like a "matchmaker", is that it? Duh!"

"Hah! Shit on your face, dammit!" while scratching her head. "It turns out that your thinking is two steps ahead of mine! It's annoying when my plans are easily uncovered by you, you horse shit!" Said Adolph with annoyance.

(You're the one who is showing odd behavior earlier...!) I thought while looking at her.

Even so, I replied,

"I appreciated your effort," while gesturing with one hand. "However!"

"However??"

"He should apologize for what he did!" I said firmly.

"You're the selfish person same as him," while moving one hand. "What makes you think like that? An old man like him wouldn't want to apologize so easily, you know?"

"Hold your horse! This isn't about a matter of selfishness," while staring at Adolph. "It's about self-awareness. If he doesn't understand such fundamental things, then what you're doing right now is just a waste even if you scream until your vocal cords break!"

Adolph listened to what I said. Suddenly, he replied,

"I'm agreed with you! Sometimes, things like that aren't easy for others to understand." While doing a thinking pose.

As Adolph talked about the incident, my mind flashed back to the incident when the two of us first met on a deserted street. Realizing that memory, I immediately asked,

"By the way, is the person who sent you to kill me the same person as the enemy boss said before?" while tapping the table with one finger.

"The one who sent me to kill you? No, It's a different person. If I'm not mistaken—," Suddenly, Adolph remembered something—"Ah! Roderic Barbarossa. He's the nobleman of the Keldam kingdom!"

"So, yesterday's plan was practically a failure, huh?" asked a woman sitting behind the table. "I didn't expect that this failure could happen to you!"

"You could say this happened beyond my expectations! Even though I've disguised myself as two nobles," replied a man sitting on a long chair. "Speaking of which, to the "real" nobles Roderic Barbarossa and Elliot Green, take care of it!"

"How dare you order me, bastard! You aren't aware of your current position, huh?!" asked the woman in an angry tone.

The man only responded by laughing. Immediately, he approached the woman who was sitting while saying,

"Come on, don't be so stiff with me. Or, have you forgotten the "agreement" we talked about before, Your Highness The Princess of Keldam, Sara Anjarani!" replied the man with a suppressed intonation while staring intently.

They stared at each other with sharp eyes. After a while, the princess started to say,

"I'll take care of the corpses of those bastards," while glaring at the man who stands before her. "However, once again you fail, don't expect to know what freedom is!"

"Deal!" while shaking the hand of the princess. "Marquess Raya is ready to complete this assigned mission from Your Highness!" While smiling.

The princess immediately forcibly removed the handshake from Marquess Raya. She also said,

"Now!" while getting up from the chair. "I'll be going. There's still a lot of bastard nobles that I need to deal with!"

"Do you need my help to deal with those bastards, Princess Sara?"

"For now, I can still take care of them," while she walked out. "Moreover, mind your own business. And do not disappoint me this time!" While closing the door hard.

Receiving that reaction from the princess, Marquess Raya immediately sat down on his seat. While thinking for a moment, he said,

"So, for the "pest" method this time, do I have to use the "coercion" or "fine" method, huh?" He spoke in a happy tone while grinning on his face.
