Will clicked his tongue and twirled a dagger within his hand. A few meters away was a Goblin leader that was currently preoccupied with beating up a smaller goblin. With an indifferent look, Will scanned the surroundings for any extra threat before putting away his dagger. Excluding the two goblins directly in front of him, Will could see three goblins with clubs a short distance away from the goblin leader and two goblin archers conversing with each other in a rough barbaric tone of voice.

"Hey Rina," whispered Will as he took off the bow that was slung across his shoulder and tested the line, "what is our mission today, do you remember?"

Rina flew up to the side of Will's face and whispered into his ear. "To kill the Goblin Leader that is prowling around the forest near the city."

"Well done," smiled Will as he slowly knocked an arrow onto his bow and pulled the string back. "How dangerous are Goblin leaders again?"

"They are about as strong as a D rank adventurer strength-wise. Although it is highly recommended for only D rank adventures and above to engage, an E rank is fully capable of defeating on on his own."

Will slowly aimed his bow towards the group of Goblins before whispering to Rina, "Now which one is the goblin leader?"

"The one that is a little larger with a helmet. The one bullying the other goblin."

"Perfect," said Will while his eyes were fully focused on the bigger Leader Goblin. "It seems that you are remembering more and more monsters as each day passes by. I'm very proud of you. Well done."

"Ehehe."

Will waited with his bow drawn for the opportune moment until he received a good and absolute angle that would send his arrow towards the Goblin Leader with certain death. Just as the Goblin Leader lowered his arm, Will unleashed his string and his bow flexed forward sending the knocked arrow flying out of the forest and through the clearing. There was a loud thwack and a piercing cry of pain as Will's arrow flew true and pierced the Goblin leader in the side of the neck. Shocked and dazed with what had happened, the other goblins watched as the Goblin Leader struggled to remove the arrow in his neck as a second arrow flew from out of the trees and grazed the Goblin leader's arm.

Clicking his tongue at himself for missing, Will quickly knocked another arrow and released and watched as the arrow soared and shot into the Goblin Leaders chest.

At this point, the other Goblins were completely terrified and immediately started to run into the forest for shelter and protection. Seeing this, Will came out from his hiding spot with another arrow knocked and attentively observed his surroundings while making his way to the dead Goblin Leader.

"Rina. Go scout the area around to see if there are any lurking monsters or goblins."

"Alrighty!" replied Rina as she disappeared into a cloud of vapor.

Soon, Will stood right before the dead Goblin Leader and checked to see if it was truly dead before he put on some gloves and took out his dagger. He first took out the arrow that was in the Goblin Leader's chest before slicing open the Goblin Leader's chest. After rummaging around the inner organs of the Goblin Leader's corpse, Will found a small pebble-sized magic stone and tore it out. As he did, Rina appeared and proudly announced, "There are no monsters in our surrounding area! There is a gray wolf though quite some distance away somewhere to the north."

"Well done Rina. Can you please help me clean my hands?"

"Ehehehe. Alrighty!" said Rina with a happy expression.

As water controlled by Rina rinsed his bloody gloves, Will noticed that the small goblin that the Goblin Leader had been beating up before it had died was still alive and shivering with a terrified expression. Will considered killing it but decided it would be alright to leave it alone after seeing that the goblin was brutally bruised and beaten. Even if he left it alone, Will was sure it would fall prey to some other monster or beast. He always did enjoy avoiding unnecessary bloodshed.

Will sheathed his dagger and indifferently signaled to the goblin to run away. "I won't kill you so go."

The moment the goblin saw Will's arm move, it let out a shriek of fear and curled itself into a ball. Seeing that scene, Will couldn't help but realized that he had seen a similar scene many times before. Feeling something bloom in his chest, something that he knew for sure wasn't sympathy, Will wrinkled his face. "Like I said before, go. You are free to go where you want. I won't tell you again."

Without bothering to check if the goblin had listened to his words and moved, Will promptly turned around and made his way back to the city.

(This chapter might not make a lot of sense I realize... especially in two parts of it, but trust me. There is always a reason.)
