EPISODE || 1

Sometimes back on this radio program, it was hookup night.

Very "single and searching" male listeners were asked to send in their phone numbers, so very interested females could reach out to them and things could kick start from there.

I was in the mood to catch crooze so I'd sent in my number.

I woke up the following morning to about thirty something missed calls from different numbers.

This was rather surprising.

If you know me well, one of the first bad habits you'd have noticed about me, is the fact that I don't pick calls from numbers I dont have saved in my phone.

Yeah! I already know it's a very bad habit.

"What if it was an emergency?" People often ask.

"I never blow, I don dey behave like this, what if I come fit afford not to dey borrow data from MTN?"

I'd totally forgotten about the program from the night before.

I told myself that if any of these calls was as important, the person at the other end of it would know to send me a text message.

Well, this gist is not about the fifteen other very amazing beings I later got to meet, but about ONE in particular.

She was actually the sixteenth.

Mandy's voice over the phone was "out of this world" AMAZING.

The way she giggles to my jokes was always soothing to my soul.

She was smart too.

I never had to explain a single joke like I'd have to, with most people.

She seemed a mirror of ME.

Before I finished a thought, she told me not to stress my pretty brains finding the right words, she understands.

I am usually the one that tells people this, imagine the feeling that came with being told.

We walked up to seeming as though we've known ourselves FOREVER, in less than a week of constant chat and calls.

She did most of the calling.

Every time I tried to show myself (with my small one hundred naira borrowed airtime) by asking her to drop a call, "lemme call you back", she'll always give me that beautiful chuckle and say, "It's fine Moshood, we can talk".

We'll usually be on the line for hours.

We spoke on the phone at least four times a day, everyday, for five months, before we finally met in person.

With Mandy, there was always something interesting to talk about.

She'll often times ask me where I'd been all her life (a thought I'd always nursed since the first day I heard her "Hi")

In less than a month, we'd known virtually everything about ourselves.

Well, so I thought
