Chapter 02 - Struggling with the Quints
"Pardon my intrusion." Fuutarou said as he walked in the Quint's apartment. The Quints went into their own rooms to change while they left Fuutarou in the living room. "Hmm... They might take a while... I might as well call Raiha."
Fuutarou then walked outside to the balcony. He dialed the number and called his little sister. It didn't take long as the call was answered immediately.
-Onii-chan?-
"Raiha, I'll be late today. Tell dad alright?"
-Hai! Onii-chan! Oh and Curry will be our dinner tonight!-
"Now I really have to go home. Bye Raiha."
-Bye Onii-chan!-
As he ended the call, someone behind him asked.
"Who was that Fuutarou-kun? Your girlfriend?" The voice asked, teasingly.
"Hmm? Maybe." He replied playfully, without turning his back.
"Ara ara, little Fuutarou-kun is a big boy now, he doesn't need his Onee-chan's help anymore. Onee-chan is sad." She remarked, as she jokingly sobs.
"You know it's not like that Ichika." Fuutarou now turning his face towards hers, "Your little brother still needs his "Onee-chan's" help you know." Fuutarou adds as he clasps her hand brings her into an embrace.
Ichika, who was in his embrace, blushed as she lays her head on his chest and mutters, "It's not fair." 'You're making my heart beat fast while I can't do the same to you.'
Fuutarou who felt her talk but didn't catch what she said. "What did you say, Ichika?"
He asks hoping for an answer.
"Nothing, Fuutarou let's go back inside." Ichika broke from his embrace as she rushed inside, still red. Which didn't go unnoticed by Fuutarou.
"She's really cute when she blushes..." Fuutarou remarks as he followed her.

"Since it's the first day, we'll go easy for now." Fuutarou voiced as he look at the Quints who nods at him.
"Uesugi-san!" Yotsuba raises her hand.
"What is it Yotsuba?"
'No way... He was able to tell who we are! Mama and Grandpa said that only people with "Love" could tells us apart... Does he sees one of us this way...' Yotsuba and her sisters thought of the same thing though one girl was sure it was her. "You said that we'll take it easy. What exactly are we going to do today?" Yotsuba asked.
"We don't really have much time today so I'll officially start tutoring tomorrow. Getting to know each other more is a great start as we can get comfortable with each other when I'll start tutoring."
"Fuu-kun!" The social butterfly exclaimed.
"Yes, Nino? And "Fuu-kun"?" The blonde asked.
"Can we ask questions and that's my nickname for you! Do you dislike it?" Nino told Fuutarou as she gave him the puppy eyes hoping that he does not reject her request.
"Sure you can ask questions and I don't dislike it at all." Fuutarou replied as he smiles at her.
Nino smiles brightly at his response but if you look closely a hint of red can be seen on her cheeks.
'Why does Nino acts like that. I found him first! Wait what am I thinking! We're teacher and student!' Itsuki thought as she watch her sister and tutor's interaction.
"I'm going to my room." Miku said as she found that getting to know each other is useless. As she only wanted to learn.
"Ah, Miku-" Fuutarou tried to stop Miku but he felt a tug in his clothes. Fuutarou looked back and saw that it was Ichika, who turned her head left to right signaling that he shouldn't follow her.
Fuutarou understood this and sat down. As he did, Nino asked him a lot of questions about himself. Fuutarou happily answered her back.

It was time for Uesugi to go home. Ichika who went together with him offered a cab but Fuutarou refused saying he could pay on his own. But Ichika insists saying that it's the least she can do for him after what he's done for her which he cocked his head in confusion but ignored it. He then accepted her offer and rode home.

"I'm home!" Fuutarou shouted as he took off his shoes and placed on the shoe rack near the door.
"Welcome home Onii-chan!" A girl called out. The girl slim young girl who stands at a medium height with long black hair, brown eyes and a simple butterfly-shaped ribbon, holding up her hair in a high cowlick.
"I'm back Raiha. Where's Dad?"
"He's in the living room."
"Thanks Raiha. Do you need help in making the table?"
"I can do it myself Onii-chan! I'm a big girl now!"
"Sure you are, and just tell me if you need any help okay?"
"Hmmm!" Raiha answered as she went to set the table.
Fuutarou smiled as he saw her sister being happy. He then walked into the living room to talk with his Dad.

"Oh Fuutarou you're home." His Father said while holding a bottle of beer.
"You're drinking again Dad? You know how it is when Raiha sees you drinking."
"Oh shut up. She gave me permission." His Father proudly said.
"Is she your guardian or something..." Fuutarou sweatdropped at his Father's response.
"By the way I heard that you already met your tutees." Uesugi's Father or Mr. Uesugi asked.
"Yeah didn't know that they were Quintuplets."
"Hmmm... That's good. So have you found her?"
"I... I don't know what your talking about." Fuutarou said as he turned his head away.
"Who are you talking about Dad?" Raiha asked as she walked in. Fuutarou frowned hearing her sister's voice.
"Your big brother's crush of course." Mr. Uesugi said as he laughed at his son's misery. His statement also surprised his daughter.
"Onii-chan has a crush?!" Raiha shouted in surprise as she found out that his big brother who focused on studying and working, had a crush.
"Haha! He did. It was a girl he met 5 years ago. He has a picture with her on his student handbook." Mr. Uesugi said as he smirks at Fuutarou.
"Wow! Onii-chan can I see the picture?" Raiha asked while giving Fuutarou the puppy eyes.
Fuutarou felt weak at his sister plea and almost showed her the photo but his embarrassment got better of him as he refused Raiha and started to eat.
Mr. Uesugi laughs and Raiha pouts at his action. Both of them started eating too after their small banter.

After dinner, Fuutarou started working on the test he's going to give the Quints tomorrow. He wrote a hundred items test and xeroxed it in four copies. He then took a bath before he went to sleep.

Morning came as Fuutarou woke up. He got ready for school. He ate breakfast, took a bath and went to school.
As he got into his classroom he looked around and found that he got first. So while waiting he studied his subjects. After a while, students started to come in and one of those was his tutee.
As Itsuki looked around and found her tutor who is busy studying. She went near him called him out. Hearing his name he turned his head to the place where he heard the voice.
But before he could talk to her, the bell rang and the teacher went in. Classes started, and even though Fuutarou taught Itsuki. Itsuki still had difficulties with the lectures. Fuutarou again took notes and gave it to her. Itsuki looked at him, thankful and she finally understood the lectures.

Lunch came. Fuutarou and Itsuki walked together to the school cafeteria. And while walking, Nino spotted them and she greeted Fuutarou... Also Itsuki.
"Hello Fuu-kun!" Nino greeted.
"Hello Nino." Fuutarou answered back.
"Heading out for lunch?" Nino asked while holding something behind her back.
"Yep." Fuutarou answered as he noticed Nino's hand on her back.
"Hehe, here!" Nino said as she gave him her homemade Bento.
"Thank you, Nino." Fuutarou smiles as he took her Bento.
'Nino's Bento...' A redhead glutton thought as she stared at what Fuutarou's holding, drooling.
"Itsuki? You're drooling you know?" Fuutarou said as he stared at her.
"Ah!" Itsuki woke up from her trance. She averted her eyes, embarrassed by what has she done.
"Let's go Fuutarou, before Itsuki's tummy grumbles." Nino remarked.
"Mou! My tummy does not grumb-" Before she was able to refute her sister, her tummy betrayed her as it grumbled, signifying that it needed nourishment.
Nino and Fuutarou looked at each other then at Itsuki and laughed as Itsuki turned red like a cherry ready to explode.

Fuutarou, Itsuki and Nino finally got into the cafeteria. He looked around and spotted three of the Quints at a table. He, Itsuki and Nino went towards the other quints and while walking, Ichika noticed the three of them and told her other sisters. Miku and Yotsuba turned their heads towards them, smiled and waved.
"Uesugi-san! Over here!" Yotsuba shouted as she smiled.
"Hello Yotsuba." Fuutarou saw her smile and smiled himself. As she reminds him of his little sister.
The Quints who saw the his smile went red as they found his smile charming. But they heard a grumble. They looked at Itsuki who flails her arms as she said, "I-its not m-me!".
"Ah it seems that its mine, haha." Fuutarou said and laughed.
The Quints laughed at this and started eating. Fuutarou opened his Bento.
"Wow Nino, it looks delicious." Fuutarou exclaimed.
"Fufu, of course it looks good, I made it" Nino proudly said.
"Itsuki, you're drooling." Miku said as she ate her food.
All of them except for Itsuki, laughed at her.

After classes, the Quints and their Tutor headed for the Quints house as they finally would start the tutoring.
"Today, our tutoring will start but before that, I'll give you all a mock exam to test your knowledge."
"Uesugi-san!" Yotsuba asked
"Yes, Yotsuba?"
"How many questions are there and what is the passing score?"
"100 questions and usually its 60 but for you its 50."
Grunts from the Quints can be heard as they weren't informed and given time to review. Time passed and the Quints finished the test Fuutarou gave.
"Congrats all of you scored 100!" The Quints beamed at this but his next statement made them hung their head in shame, "... Combined that is. Ichika, 8. Nino, 18. Miku, 33. Yotsuba, 14 and Itsuki, 27."
Fuutarou looked at them menacingly and said, "You guys better get ready cause I'll teach you so hard that learning is the only thing you will think of all day."
The Quints gulped at that.

Fuutarou didn't got drug as Nino has a favorable opinion of Fuutarou. Also I did some research about Japanese apartments. I was about to describe Fuutarou's apartment but none actually fit his salary he receives from his secret job. Also if you don't understand something ask me about it as I'll explain it in the next chapter and that's for Fanfiction users. For Webnovel users I'll reply to you comments in the morning as it's currently midnight.
1750 words for today. I'm tired. I have school tomorrow, so I'll only write when I can.
