Master and Disciple (1)

The kitchen staffs all pleaded for mercy. They would have never thought that they would fall this low when they decided to test Feng Ning's attitude.

The commotion naturally alarmed the other people around.

Princess Lin Xie Ya heard what her daughter did and merely snorted. She had seen a lot of Feng Quan's antics lately that she was so tired. There was no time for her to care about those daughters of her. All of her attention was already completely preoccupied with her son.

"Let her do what she wanted. If the servants are unruly, they can simply be replaced." Princess Lin Xie Ya snorted.

The steward paused when he heard what Princess Lin Xie Ya said then acknowledged it.

Since the Princess had said it like that, he knew that no matter what Princess Feng Ning did to the servants, Princess Lin Xie Ya would not care. Wasn't it just throwing her temper to the kitchen staff after she turned mute?

It was normal for one to be easily irritable because of the sudden change.

Even if she was not favored or neglected, she was still part of the Imperial Family. Those kitchen staffs could only leave if they dared to do anything to the young girl.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

As the beating took place, Feng Ning calmly wrote on Xiao Yu's palm. "Once the beating is finished the vice steward will be the main steward while the kitchen steward can be sent to the household department. If this happen again, all of you will be sent to the household department."

So ruthless.

The servants all thought that way when they saw the cold expression on Feng Ning's face. This six years old girl was simply a devil in human's skin. How could it be possible for her to be so nice and kind before?

The servants were confused.

The vice steward that had just been promoted to be steward got up with difficulties after the beating and cupped his fist while bowing his head. "Your Highness, this servant will quickly serve the food that will satisfy you."

"Good, go."

With that, the servants helped each other to go back to the kitchen and soon the food was served. This time, it consisted of light food that was more nutritious and no longer as greasy as before.

It would be easier for her stomach to digest these foods.

Feng Ning nodded in satisfaction. She waved her hand, instructing Xiao Yu to settle the servants for her. After all, she was not so diligent to punish all of them and made a fuss too big. It was enough as long as the servants knew that they could not cross the line when they dealt with her.

In normal times, she was still very peaceful.

When Teacher Xi came a few days afterwards, she realized that the servants in Feng Ning's Residence was very orderly. They didn't dare to behave unreasonably, but there was some kind of peaceful aura around them.

For a princess who was often forgotten and even neglected, this treatment could be called to be strange.

In fact, it was really strange.

After all, it was common to say that even the servants would not bother to serve the unfavored Master well. They all had their ambition and would rather serve someone with bright future and not someone who was known to be a mere decoration in the future.

"Your Highness, Teacher Xi is here."

Feng Ning raised her head and curtsied. Normally, she would have greeted her with her sweet voice, but now, it was impossible.

Looking at the behaved Feng Ning, Teacher Xi felt as if he was seeing an illusion. The girl in front of her was clearly only 6 years old, but why did she feel that the real master of this residence had already changed hands to her? The one who controlled the servants should still be her mother.

No matter how capable Feng Ning was, she was nothing more than a mere 6 years old. She shouldn't be capable to do something like that.

"It'll be impossible for me to teach you many things, but it's still important to study." Teacher Xi walked inside and looked Princess Feng Ning. "I'll teach you how to write poems, paints, and many others, alright?"

Feng Ning nodded obediently.

Seeing how obedient the young girl was, Teacher Xi was a bit surprised. She thought that she would have to spend a long time to coax the young girl because she had just suffered such a huge set back, so she purposely waited for a few days for her to calm down before coming.

But now she realized that her worry was unnecessary.

This young girl was very sensible.

Even though the future seemed bleak, she didn't seem to be thinking about that matter and instead decided to study earnestly. This caused Teacher Xi's heart to ache even more.

That day, she spent much longer time to teach Feng Ning.

By the end of the lesson, Feng Ning wrote on a paper and passed it Teacher Xi. Because of her inability to speak, the only possibility for her to communicate was by text. Teacher Xi hadn't taught her a lot of vocabulary, but Feng Ning herself had actually known a lot.

Though, she chose to limit herself.

"Teacher, I want to study medicine."

Teacher Xi was stunned when she saw the sentence. She looked at the young girl in front of her and felt that the desire for the young girl to learn was because of her condition. Since she was already in such state, then she would just work hard in order to make sure that she could find a way to recover.

Such a way of thinking was rare.

"Alright, I'll bring you a teacher when I come back next time."

Feng Ning beamed when she heard what Teacher Xi said. She quickly wrote 'thank you' on the paper.

Teacher Xi smiled as she looked at the young princess in front of her. In truth, she had such favorable impression of Feng Ning, especially when she compared the second princess with the first princess.

The second princess was very sensible and didn't treat other people badly just because of her status as the princes.

On the other hand, the first princess was very arrogant and seemed to cause problems all the time.

Whenever Teacher Xi came, she would hear the servants talking about the problems that Princess Feng Quan caused. It made her wondered just how could a person like this possibly be the first princess.

She didn't seem to be the proper one.

Instead, it was the second princess who seemed to be the real epitome of royalty. She was well behaved on the surface, but she seemed to be able to control herself well and even manage her servants by her side.

Not a single servants dared to say anything and gossiped when Teacher Xi was here.

The atmosphere was rather peaceful, but it was orderly.

'If only she didn't turn mute…'

Teacher Xi felt a bit pity but she said nothing as she left the princess' residence. She had also seen the third princess, but the impression she got was even worse than the first princess. The only outstanding person in this residence was the second princess, but she was also the most unfortunate one.

It was really hard for her heart to fully accepted this.

After sorting out her feelings, Teacher Xi headed to the Medical Association and paid a visit to her old friends.

Imperial Doctor Wu was stunned when he saw Teacher Xi coming. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Imperial doctors were personal doctors for the Imperial Family, but they didn't always have this status. Before they could become the Imperial Doctor, the competition was very intense and there were a lot of people who had to check their skills before allowing them to serve the Imperial Family.

Imperial Doctor Wu was no exception. He had worked hard to be able to reach his current position.

"I come here to ask for a favor."

"What is it that make you come here personally?" Imperial Doctor Wu knew that if it was not important, Teacher Xi would never come here personally and instead sent a servant to deliver some message to him.

"I would like you to accept a disciple."

"…Yes?"

"Not an ordinary disciple." Teacher Xi smiled bitterly. "Have you heard of Princess Ning's incident?"

Imperial Doctor Wu nodded. There was no way he didn't know this incident when it was spread so widely in the Capital City. A lot of people were talking about how unfortunate it was for Princess Feng Ning.

She was only 6 years old, but she was poisoned and now turned mute. Because of this, a lot of people were thinking that the princess was really so pitiful. So young and yet she had suffered a lot.

But that was all they could say.

Most of them didn't have connection to the Imperial Family and they were not daring enough to talk about the princess comfortably.

"Her Highness Princess Feng Ning would like to study medicine and I would like to ask for you to be her teacher."
