Chapter 18: "No"

I could save them, I could save them all, if not for my promise to those two. I hate the fact that they have me at their little finger, but it's better this way, since no one will get hurt. I've hurt enough people. I have enough blood on my hands to the point that I'm slowly stating to hate myself. I know that I have to keep myself calm, but the scene before me isn't helping.

Emily and Emma are huddled in a corner while Amon is uncouncious, Mammon and Asmodeus are restrained and Leviathan... Well... He is being whipped. I can tell that the whip is coated in sacred water, sacred water which those things shouldn't even be able to gaze about, let's not even mention touch, but here they are, coating two whips in sacred water and whipping the fallen angel like there is no tomorrow. And unfortunately, if we won't stop them soon, Leviathan might not even catch the end of today.

Something needs to be done, but what? I know for a fact that I won't be able to get to him unless Abigor unhands me, but with all the tension in my body and my blood almost boiling inside me, I know that the moment he sets me free, I'll jump straight in the battle.

What can we do to save him though? What can be done to stop them. They are mere puppets. And yet, they seem to go for the strongest and the weakest are left behind. Which leads me to think that if I am to unleash my power they will target me, this leading to Abigor having the chance to get the others to safety, during the time I'll buy him. I'll also make these living corpses follow me all the way to where Lucifer is waiting with back up.

Of course, there is the fact that running all the way to where Lucifer is, means that I'll have to go through the devastated corridors, the throne hall, other corridors, go through the side gate, down the river path and head straight for the black bridge. It might still be dangerous due to the fact that, the feline demons are able to tell that something is wrong, so they might attack. Although Kephu said that he'll have people putting them to sleep and take them to some place safe. I know for sure that there is also the problem of me still being heavily injured. And let's not forget what happened almost one hour ago. After I coughed like mad and with blood at that, I started bleeding from my eyes, nose and ears as well. Furthermore, I also have to deal with the pain coming from my wings, folded back in my back as they are.

'Can you hear me?'

'Loud and clear.'

'Good, I have a plan.'

'I'm listening.'

'I'll distract these things, make them follow me, and we'll head where the others are, but they will need your help, especially Leviathan. And don't even think of saying no! We both know that you are the only one capable of helping him right now.'

'I do not like your plan.'

'I never said you have to like my plan. You just have to look after them and leave the rest to me.'

'Very well, though, keep in mind the fact that there are traps set for them, so you just have to make them fall in them.'

'Got it. At the count of three I'll bolt for the door.'

"Follow me you ugly things!"

I could literally feel their gazes on me the moment I let my powers seep through me. I could see the way Emily and Emma sent me bewildered glances and Leviathan lifted his head and said a silent "No".

It was too late to back out anyways. I started running through the corridors, some half destroyed, some intact but not for long. I could hear them approaching. Following me, but I'm always ahead of them, never to close to them. It's like I'm keeping them on a tight leash. I could see the doors leading to the throne room the moment I took the last right turn. This means that after I pass through these doors, I have to head left, go through the door made of sandalwood and turn left again and after that descend two sets of stairs and one more turn to the right and one to the left, and I'll be out of the castle through the side door.

I just hope everyone is going to be ok. Leviathan must have heard my conversations with Abigor through the mind-link. That must be the reason why he said no. He knows very well the state I was in when they left me, so he must of have thought I won't make it, but I'll prove him and everyone else that they were wrong. I am the Commander of the Heavenly tropes for a reason. Even at Deaths door, I won't be scared. I'm used being there, I learned how to make Death flow my game and I learned how to dance in the shadows. These things will regret dearly the day they were created.

I will personally make sure of it. Now then. I believe that all I have to do now that I'm out of the palace is head for the bridge, but I have a feeling that something bad will happen if I won't hurry up. Well, I guess I might as well say goodbye to my wings. I know I shouldn't be using them in their current state, but I'm left with no other choice.

"Well, goodbye my dear wings! You shall be dearly missed, I guess!"

With that said I pushed through the pain and unfolded my wings and pushed myself with all the might I could muster and glued the rest of the way to the bridge only, the moment I land on it to hear from behind me one heck of a yell and then, just like a huge bomb was detonated, they exploded in tons of pieces a d blood was everywhere.
